Where to start! One star is being nice. Service 1/10 very slow waited 15min to be asked for a drink the waited another 30 before I got it. And never got asked again during my meal. Food 1/10 Every one in our party waited over a hour, asked for rare and medium rare meat all came well done, pork chop was so dry was unable to even try it, the chicken was nice. Another great Margarita's location. This location is a little different from the others. It's waterfront with a view of the bay and marina. I think you can dock your watercraft and dine at the restaurant. The menu has significantly more seafood items and less land meats than the other locations. The menu items tend to be more expensive. They have a stage for live music, along with a dance area, and a lot of outdoor seating. It's everything you want from the nautical mile except parking here is much easier. We shared the guacamole, and I also had the fish tacos. It lives up to the same simplicity, freshness, and quality that I expect from Margarita's. read more

Okay, Margaritas cafe Freeport, you've got to get it together. I dont know if they were short staffed because I saw alot of people dressed in black when it came to singing happy birthday to a guest, but it took FOREVER to get a waiter, FOREVER to get our drinks, and then our food took forever to reach our table. The band on Friday night June 12th, was horrible. When I go to Margaritas cafe and hear a live band, I'm not looking for the 1950s, 60s, and 70s segregation era music. I'm looking for some Mariachi style, ANY TYPE OF LATIN MUSIC. The people that danced to the band must've been 5 drinks deep. With that being said, I made a mistake and ordered another drink which took another decade to receive. While waiting for that drink, I asked for the check when my waiter made a surprise cameo to our table again. He asked if I still wanted the drink and I replied, "oh, you're still bringing it right?". And to my surprise, it was still in progress. Just pour the sangria out the bucket and into a glass! That's it. Had the most relaxing, enjoyable lunch at Margaritas in Freeport. It's right on the water, with a beautiful breeze. Service was attentive and efficient. They did all the appropriate protocol for Covid. Guacamole was tasty and well prepared. Hubby's burrito was huge and he really enjoyed. I had the chicken tacos which were fresh and very tasty. We went to Margaritas @ Freeport to celebrate a birthday. We were a party of 6. We sat @ a table facing the water which was very very nice. The servers were awesome!! Very attentive, courteous & detailed oriented. Drinks were excellent & tasty!! Appetizers were good, but the main dishes were great! Presentación of dinner plates was beautiful. After dinner we had several more drinks trying several of their signatures cocktails. Delicious!!! They have a nice assortment of deserts that were delicious!! Decided to have lunch with the family yesterday. There was only one server and a bus girl so no one was at the front to seat us. Slowly made our way to dining area and was acknowledged after 10 minutes. Not a big deal I understand the staffing situation. The scenery was nice and ambiance inviting overlooking the water. We ordered our drinks and food. The food came out and also a plate of fondue cheese dip (which we did not order). Made this clear to the staff. The dip sat there through the course of the meal untouched. When the time came to pay the bill, the waiter said since it was already on the table we would have to pay for it. I told him no, I am not paying for it bc I did not order it. I am usually not one to complain but there is a principle violation here. He then went on to say that if not the manager would reprimand him and it would come out of his pocket. I asked politely if I can speak to the manager bc now what was a nice evening was quickly becoming a sour one. He then said the manager stepped out and was not available but he would take a "few dollars" of a $12 drink. I again said no. He then said he took it off but when I got the new receipt and now the waiter unscrupulously altered the price of other items on the bill to account for $14 of the plate. Now I was really bothered because I approached him again and explained to him that I have two successful professional businesses which flourish bc of honesty and that this is a really low thing to do, he was embarrassed and apologized. He adjusted the bill a THIRD time, leaving .75 (cents) extra charge on the bill. A kind of "he gets the last word" gesture. I decided to leave it, as now my wife and kids were upset bc they couldn't enjoy their dessert. I am usually a very generous tipper, and even though this situation deserved zero gratuity, I did leave one but it reflected my discontent. Retraining is warranted here. In my business and in any business the staff reflects the integrity of the establishment. This experience and business practice was a FAIL. Please compare the prices on your final receipt and take a picture of them as I did. read more

I bring my family friends here and his arrogant ego got in the way of welcoming us the way we deserved especially after a really isolating quarantine. If you have dogs I would not suggest coming here. My boyfriend and I left the dog cruise with Nautical Cruises (which was great!) We were hungry after so we decided to go here after waiting at the host stand for 5 minutes a young man came up and sat us. We got here around 9:15 (45 minutes before closing we weren't planning on staying long). After sitting at the table for another 5 minutes the manager came up and kicked us out for having the dogs. I brought to her attention nothing was said when first coming in and she said the young man didn't know. I then asked why he didn't bring this to our attention and then go ask. She said we just needed to leave since they were closing so soon but they still really weren't. I will not be coming back and if you do the cruise I don't suggest coming here. Especially since it says online they have outdoor seating. We asked why we couldn't sit there and she said it was too late but they only have 1 other table in the entire restaurant they could've served us there since they weren't busy but instead chose to be rude and lost my business and I will be deterring anyone else in. the future. read more

Part one: This is my first time at Margaritas.We were told there was 50 minute wait for a table. We started out with Margaritas at the bar. Both the guava and the mango were outstanding. Will the food be worth the wait? Who knows? We're still waiting Part Two: Finally got seated 90 minutes later. Waitstaff was apologetic, took our order right away, and paid for our drinks .My chicken fajita entree was delicious and the same can be said for my friend's order of mole poblano. There's a few of these on Long Island. I usually go to the one in East Meadow and it's always wonderful...but this was a whole different experience. When you pull into the parking lot, it makes you think the place is gunna be small... so not the case. You walk in and it's beautifully set up, on the water with a DJ and indoor/outdoor seating. It's huge! The staff was so sweet and the drinks were fantastic. Being the creature of habit that I am, I got the steak tacos... they probably added a hint of crack to the rub they use on the steak, bc I would have eaten that all night long! And the salsa they give you while you order, its homemade and the bomb. This is a perfect place to go to on a beautiful summer night to have great food, great drinks and dance the night away. read more

tonight there were eight of it took over 20 minutes to take our drink and appetizer order,it took 30 minutes for appetizer and then another 40 minutes for drinks and water the waiter was gone for long periods of time not checking to see if we need anything.our first pitcher of pina colada taste like virgin one Itold the waiter he brought out another pitcher which was better.The food was tasty.I ask to speak to the manager about the poor service he was very dismissive and did not want to talk about the poor service I express to him in a nice non argument no matter what we should not have to wait 45 min to get drinks we should not been charged for the first pitcher pina colada that had no liquor in it and the customer service was poor he was making all kind of excuses and I said he should have been more accommodating to the customer he then he said in a dismissive manner that he did not want to talk to me no more and left.I been to many great Resturant that was receptive to customers complaint.The music was so loud we could not hear ourselves talk and could not hear the singer because the house speaker was way too loud. Let me start off by saying I am always very understanding when it comes to the food industry being a previous waitress myself, so I cut places slack for long waits, etc. However, my experience here from start to finish was like no other. We were told for a party of 3 it would be a 30 min wait. After 45 minutes we were told by a different host 20 more minutes. After an hour and a half they call our phone - we get there - and they tell us they called the wrong party's number. More waiting. Once we got in eventually, we were told it's a 2 hour table limit. Fine - no problem. Ironic though because our food didn't come until over an hour later. Before dinner taking forever to come, we waited 15-20 minutes for water, and our guac appetizer/soup. Guacamole was bland and the soup had a hair strand wrapped around it so as you can already imagine, we were frustrated. My boyfriend ordered a burrito and specified shredded beef, pico, and the sauce on top. ONLY. The waitress repeated this several times and we laughed and she said I just wanted to make sure. Let me know why the burrito came with melted cheese on top and she came back with another waiter expressing very rudely she told us that cheese comes on top - no, you didn't. I actually told her to remove the cheese from the soup appetizer because my boyfriend has an allergy - so why would he order a burrito with cheese on top if she claims she insisted that she told us it did. False. They took it back and just threw the insides in a new soft taco shell but instead of shredded beef, it was ground. Now the manager comes and rudely states that they don't have shredded beef, so I told him well the waitress didn't tell us that. Don't come at a party rudely and aggressively for a mistake your staff made. Why does our bill say shredded beef if you don't have it on your menu..? Anyways. This horror show continues with them forgetting my boyfriends refried beans that come with the plate, and the green sauce. Took a while to get that so we were all eating he was waiting. My food wasn't appetizing one bit. The chicken aguacate which basically had cold thick cheese on top with marinara sauce. I've been to the other Margaritas before and have never had any issue. End of this horror show - they charged us $24.95 for the house tacos. Being a regular at the other locations I knew that was wrong. They added lobster to the taco on the receipt. Like for what? I ask the waitress to confirm it's that much for tacos and she insisted it was and I told her it wasn't and she went to go check, came back, and apologized. Will probably never come back here again and stick to my regular Margaritas in Wantagh. Save yourself the headache from coming here please. read more

I dined at this restaurant with family and friends on July 5, 2020. I sent a message to the company on July 6th that they still haven't acknowledged. Below is the message recounting our terrible experience there: My family and I ate at your Freeport location last night and I'm writing because it was one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. I've eaten at this location, as well as Merrick, Wantagh & E Meadow, many times and last night was by far the worst service we've experienced. After being seated, the waitress took our drink order right away. Someone else brought out the drinks but forgot the juice for the 4 yr old we had with us. The waitress then came to take our dinner order and that was the last we saw her for the next hour. No one brought us chips, we finally, after 30 mins asked another employee to bring them, because everyone was getting hungry, especially the 4 yr old. After another 30 mins of waiting, I spoke with the hostess out front and let her know that we had been waiting an hour and our waitress hadn't returned at all, not even once, after taking our order. We realize that there is still a pandemic so we didn't want to be difficult but after a full hour, I had to ask if there was some type of issue. When we were seated, we were seated really close to the guy playing the music and singing and it was extremely loud. It was so loud that we basically had to sit in silence for the hour waiting for our food because we couldn't hear each when we tried to have a conversation. Again, there's still a pandemic so we didn't want to be difficult and ask to be moved even though the restaurant wasn't crowded. Instead, when our waitress took our dinner order, we asked if they could possibly lower the music a little bit and she said, No. That was it, she just said no. After I spoke with the hostess, the manager came over and said our food was coming right out. Our food did arrive shortly afterwards but two of the six meals were wrong. We sent one back to be remade and the other was mine but I ate it anyway and didn't bring it to the waitress' attention. When the bill arrived, we saw that we were charged for sour cream. After waiting a full hour+ for food, they hadn't even brought out the chicken fingers for my 4 yr old nephew, they charged us for sour cream. My niece's meal, the one we had to send back, nachos, was supposed to come with sour cream but they charged us additionally for it and I had to ask 3 people for sour cream before someone brought it out but my sister's meal, quesadillas, was supposed to come with sour cream and she didn't get it. The $4 for the sour cream isn't really the issue, it's that my sister asked the waitress if the meals were supposed to come with sour cream and she said, No. We double checked the menus on our way out and they were both supposed to come with sour cream. No one offered any explanation as to why we had no food for over an hour or why our waitress didn't come back to our table, even once, in that hour. This was our first dining out experience since the pandemic began and we went to Margarita's in Freeport specifically because we had been there multiple times before and knew that the seating was all outdoors, all open air. It was really an unpleasant experience all around. As a suggestion, unrelated to the terrible service we received, please add a few additional speakers in the further areas of the restaurant so the noise level isn't unbearable for people when they have to be seated near the stage. We went on a busy Saturday night at about 7:00pm. The place looked packed but we only waited about 15 mins for a table. There was a live band and Fantastic views of the marina. It was a cool summer evening and dining al fresco was great. I made some modifications to my food order, not a problem. Service was really good, and so were drinks. We can't wait to go back. I love the Margaritas Cafe in Freeport! I think this is the best margaritas cafe! It's located right on the water which makes it great for summer night outings! It's big and spacious! I went for happy hour on a Friday, $4 Margs ! Can't beat that. Good size too! They had a band play later on, and you can tell the crowd was loving it. The food was good! No complaints whatsoever. I drove past the parking lot a few times... the sign is small. Parking is valet only. Maybe some parking on the street. I will definitely be coming back to the Freeport location! read more

The place is beautiful! The staff was super nice! We ran in while raining to grab some food to go. The wait wasn't long at all and they made it super comfortable. The downfall was that when traveling back to our hotel in the rain, we found no utensils. We ordered our food at 5:40p and it did not come until 7pm. Although we spoke to our server and he kept saying it will be out in 15 mins, he claimed that other people got their food faster that came after us, because we didn't know what we wanted. Please don't make excuses for how long your food takes to come. Regardless of how long it took to make up our mind, 1 hour and 20 minutes waiting for food is UNACCEPTABLE. A bee also went into our drinks, and drowned therefore we could not finish our entire drink. We told the manager and he did not offer nor ask us if we want another one. The service is crappy, the food is OK, and the drinks are weak. Go to have a good time with friends, not for a good experience. The music is live at certain times and that's cool. read more

I had the skirt steak which was excellent and my husband raved about the grilled chicken skewers. Our friends had the chicken mole and a vegetable fajita which they loved. I'm fond of Margarita's in East Meadow and have been going there for years. I just realized there was one in our town. The location is beautiful. It's great to be outside. Food is mediocre and indifferently prepared. My chicken enchlilada had steak in it. I didn't bother sending it back because it wouldn't have made much difference. I could've cooked all this at home better than they did, and so can you, if you pay just a little attention. It was pretty early and I wasn't drinking. Maybe if you've had a few, you won't notice the difference. Servers are nice but disorganized. Here's my suggestion--for scenery, go to the canal. For food, go somewhere else. read more

AWfUL AWFUL awful....they should not be associated with the same name as the ones in merrick or wantagh. We went there tonight- ordered two drinks, guacamole, flautas and combo fajitas. Only pro is the drinks were tasty and the meal was free. The guacamole took over 25 minutes to come- and remarkably they never gave us a refill for the chips. How were we supposed to eat the guacamole? As soon as the guacamole went on the table- the flautas and the plate of rice and beans arrived. The waiter said they only have one guy making the guacamole and he was backed up- ok I understand. However- my fajitas never arrived. Tried getting attention of the waiter many times. Finally a waitress came over and apologized. The manager finally came over- he did the right thing by comping the whole meal! My husband had his meal for over 20 minutes and they had no answer as to where my food was. They finally admitted it was a kitchen mistake and was never even ordered. We left and we will NEVER be back. I advise you to do the same- go to wantagh or merrick and you will not be disappointed. read more
