Came here last Friday after work with my coworkers. Several of them had been to Margarita's multiple times and spoke highly of it. The service was good and very fast. It's definitely a nice place to come to for a date or for music, good food and dancing. I ordered the shrimp in green salsa, but I wasn't a huge fan of it and probably should've gotten the fried shrimp or the taquitos. I tasted one of my friend's taquitos and it was really good. This is the 3rd Margarita's Cafe we have visited in Nassau County and this is my favorite thus far! Recently opened, this location is easy to get to in Freeport and is situated along the water (canals) so you can actually take your boat to the restaurant. Also features a well attended Valet parking option. The restaurant is sprawling and features many outdoor options in addition to the indoor space. Live music is featured as well. The outdoor space is perfectly set up for nice nighttime vibe. Food and drinks were the best I've had with this franchise. The Cadillac Margarita packed a delicious punch! The freshly made Guacamole was fabulous and the meal itself tasty. They have a very large menu to choose from so I won't get bored of my choices anytime soon. I loved my Margaritas bottomless brunch experience ! I'm so glad I didn't believe the terrible reviews and gave this place a chance ! The Cuban is the sister restaurant to Margaritas and a franchise of the owner and I love all the things here that I love about the Cuban. I decided to drop in during the last hour of brunch with my BFF while on break from work. Our waitress was awesome. We loved her ! She provided excellent service. Despite it being the last hour brunch we were able to get in on the bottomless cocktails for $7.95 for unlimited drinks. I didn't enjoy the rum punch but the mimosas were nice and strong !!!!!! My BFF shared that the rum punch tasted and smelled like shampoo. Not sure about that but it wasn't strong. Lol. This restaurant is gorgeous !!!!! With the marina located next door this is the perfect little getaway close to home ! The views are beautiful and the decor here is gorgeous !!!!!! Rustic Mexican colors and vibrant at that ! The food could have been better. My shrimp suiza enchiladas were ok. The shrimp was very good but the rest of the dish wasn't very flavorful. I added hot sauce and that didn't help. 4 stars. I wanted Mexican and this seemed to be best place for it in Freeport. There was a half hour wait and the staff took care with masks, gloves and sanitizing in between diners, which put me at ease. They put their homemade chips and salsa on the table, which were authentic tasting. My mixed enchiladas entree was good. The side of guac was very good- homemade. The manager was running around, checking on everyone and pitched in whenever needed. I had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food to arrive, but it was a busy Saturday night and the pandemic slows everything down. Overall, I give Margarita's a 3.5 stars. The food: 3.5 stars. COVID REVIEW: Came here with a group of friends on a Sunday for lunch. It was warm out, which was an added bonus since we got a table facing the water. The food here is decent. I've been to other locations, that I felt their food was fresher. An added bonus was they offered us plastic cutlery, which I appreciated. As usual, the table always gets chips and salsa to start. We opted to order fresh table side guacamole as well. They restaurant was pretty empty but we felt we were waiting long. A nice women with her cart came over to use and asked how we liked our Guacamole. We prepared it for us (wearing gloves and a mask). It was delicious, and had just the right amount of heat and zest. I felt that this was the winner of the lunch because our meals were "eh". For my entree I ordered the taco salad, and substituted ground beef for grilled steak. The salad was pretty cool and came in a taco bowl shell. The steak was cooked well and it was fresh but the lettuce and other salad ingredients felt wet and soggy, maybe from too much dressing. Next time I think I would opt for a burrito or fajitas, as the table over to us ordered that and it looked delicious. FYI we felt a lot of the staff did not speak English, and therefor were rude or brushing us off when we needed something. There is also plenty of parking in the back. read more

Like always, Margaritas is always good. Went to check out the Freeport location for outdoor dining during this 2020 pandemic and was pleasantly surprised how big their outdoor area is. I felt safe while dining - their staff all wore masks and gloves. Probably the most normal I've felt since March. I had the tacos and they were delicious. Definitely had to have a margarita as well. Wednesday Happy Hour was pretty great. If you can get Alberto as a server, your experience will be a great time. The margaritas were smooth, tasty and potent. The table side guacamole was not the best- lacked salt, unripe avocados and very chunky onions- but it was edible and we made it work. The warm chips were a plus. It was not crowded but they have a HUGE space. Really nice to be on the water without the hustle and bustle of Nautical Mile. Margaritas is just a few blocks down the street for myself and it's usually a go to for a quick bite. The decor and ambiance are very nice for a chill vibe to go and enjoy. Now where they shine is two things: Drinks and Service. The drinks are reasonably priced, Margs are great (they're in the name so they have to be) and I personally love the Rum Punch. The servers are always on top of you, making sure all goes well. I've gone and had the pleasure to have Eduardo attend our table. He is the best hands down! He has a smile, cracks jokes and is very hospitable. He makes you feel like your a guest at his home. The restaurant has a real gem on their hands with him. I've come twice now, because I couldn't believe that it was going to be good a second time but I was proven wrong and indeed good both times. The ambiance is great, indoor and outdoor seating, fun for parties / celebrations with a view of marina and the boats. Music is perfect, Latin and English, hits! Went last night with family as it was first real nice day/evening and love the location right on water ! Wanted to go before news got out and gets real busy ! Seated promptly and place is great physically , chips salsa brought to table ! My family was not in mood to drink I ordered a soft drink . Club soda to be exact ! We ordered nachos and then our entrees ! Wife ordered her chicken with avacado which she adores and orders when we frequent the other locales ! It was Tuesday taco night my daughter ordered two tacos chicken and beef orig forgot to get soft shell (waiter forgot to ask how she preferred them) she found him before the order was prepared and changed no issues ! My other daughter and I ordered the combination of one burrito , quesadilla and taco ( again didn't ask what type of shell) we ordered each one all steaks (no problem. ) Well the dinners all arrived peace meal one by one minutes apart ( place was truly not busy maybe 10 tables full ) so to not bring out all of them at once is not acceptable ! Then as my daughter and I started on our third part of combo we both had beef instead of steak , by that time we were two thirds of the way thru meal and with all cheese and stuff inside we couldn't tell no steak until we cut into it ! Plus my daughters two simple tacos had zero on plate except two tacos no rice no beans no garnish ( really couldn't spare some rice or beans ) On top they have new menu where prices are increased and now Clearly marked an additional price increase if credit cards used ! So regular prices increased and a credit card surcharge ? Really that's double dipping ' Then this is the only restaurant I frequent these days that doesn't give refills on soft drinks ! Really 6$ for two plastic cups of seltzer ! Love all the margaritas but to nickle and dime with added prices and credit card surcharges and no refills on soft drinks is not acceptable these days ! STAY AWAY FROM THIS SH*T-SHOW Let me start off by saying that I have been to another Margarita's Cafe location multiple times and totally loved the food. So when I found this location near a Marina, I was happy to take my family there. We came here today (Sunday) and were seated within 5 minutes despite it being very crowded. Let me just say that this was the first red flag. NO social distancing!! I'm not sure why a restaurant has 100% capacity and only a distance of between 3-4 feet between each table, but either way it is DANGEROUS to be in such a packed place when most of us take off our masks to eat. I felt extremely unsafe and uncomfortable while eating! Now on to the WORST experience I have had at a restaurant in my life (and I am a NYC resident, so that should tell you how bad it was.) The waitress we were assigned (she wears a nose ring) took around 20 minutes to come and ask us what we were drinking. Both of my parents and I asked for non-alcoholic piña coladas VERBALLY. She didn't even take our order of food even though we were ready and instead came back 20 more minutes later with 3 ALCOHOLIC piña coladas! My parents unknowingly drank them then realized they had liquor, and luckily I had only stuck my straw in. I AM A MINOR, so to have been served an alcoholic drink (withour ever being ID-ed) is straight up illegal! This is a violation waiting to occur! AND IT GETS WORSE! We call the waitress over and tell her that they are alcoholic and she immediately gives us an attitude, "but you said alcoholic?" when all three of us had explicitly asked for non-alcoholic! She begrudgingly took them out of the table and replaced them saying that she was "sorry" for her mistake. BUT WAIT....it gets WORSE! After we receive our drinks, we stay waiting for TWO HOURS for our food! (I understand we were meant to wait due to the circumstances, but 2 hours for a few tacos and a toe-nail sized steak?) We waited so long that even one of the ladies cleaning the tables came by and asked where our food was, and said that she would check for us (bless her!). We also asked our waitress and she just said that the kitchen was slow. Apparently there were only 2 cooks on a busy, hot sunday! How can you guys justify overworking two poor cooks in a huge restaurant! Where are the other cooks? Irresponsible! So 20 decades later, we finally receive our food and it's mediocre at best. My steak was tough, and not to mention cold! My parents tacos were mediocre too, so our food was definitely not worth the wait and we were very unhappy. While I am finishing my food, the waitress comes by and gives us a tres leches "on the house," because she felt ashamed at her mistake and making us wait. We felt a little better after that. 10 minutes later we finish the tres leches and ask for the check. THE WORST PART: ABSOLUTE SCAM! The waitress listed the piña coladas as "3 for $29" on the receipt. We were pretty shocked because they should be around $5 each. So when we call her over and ask her why is it so much for three, she says that she added the other 3 alcoholic piña coladas that were HER MISTAKE! So not only did she fake being sorry for her mistake by giving us a free cake, but she also charged us for her errors by BLATANTLY LYING about just 3 non-alcoholic piña coladas being $29, hoping we wouldn't see it on the receipt. This is extremely disrespectful, disgusting, and straight up money hungry on her part. Does Margarita's Cafe not have a manager that teaches their waitresses basic manners? Absolutely disgusting you guys should be ashamed as an establishment. We were pretty upset when she said she added 6 instead of 3 drinks so my mom just told her that she was charging us for her mistake. We didn't want to cause a scene so we just left with $15 stolen. Moral of the story DON'T COME! This is an UNSAFE, OVER-PRICED, DISRESPECTFUL, and overall DISGUSTING establishment to eat. Do yourself a favor and take your family to the local taco food cart and eat at home, this is just a breeding ground for disease to spread and for opportunistic waitresses to steal your money. I am so disgusted after this experience that I will not be returning to any Margarita's Cafe location. I will be buying takeout from my far cheaper and delicious local food cart and safely eating at home. read more

Margarita's cafe is always a good time and this location is no exception. There was live music playing when our group arrived, some Rolling Stones and The Beatles, both great choices. We sat outdoors and had a great view of the boats and the water, love a good view while I'm enjoying a meal. We ordered 2 pitchers, 1 strawberry margarita, and 1 coconut margarita. Both were the perfect amount of sweet to strong and delicious. The guacamole couldn't be made table side but we were assured it would be made fresh in the back. Great experience for my first time. Especially during this covid-19. We decided to have a quick ladies night and enjoyed the food and drinks. We had to do a little cleaning on our seats because their was still food from previous customers on it, that was the only negative aspect of our experience. Our waiter was great! Came here with my husband and my children to eat and when we arrived the manager ordered to the hostess to seat us at a table, minutes later one of the waitresses ordered by the manager came to our table and told us that this table was alredy reserved. She was so rude and without any apology she told us that she would move us to another table. No one apologized to us for the mistake they made and when they saw us go they didn't even offer us an apology or a better table to remedy the situation. I came here for the first time and waited 15 minutes to ask for a menu. They only gave up water a bowl of chips and salsa. Still waiting for someone to approach us. After the 15 mins we waited another 15 minutes before we up and left due to no one coming to us asking for at least a drink order. At least if we had drinks it could mask up waiting so long. It looks like a popular place but to wait 30 minutes and none of the staff to approach you is absurd. So in our group of 7, all 6 of us had finished eating and then our friends plate came out. She ate alone . And literally took over 40 mins to get us the check. Ridiculous. We went to this place for the first time tonight. It was a HORRIBLE experience. They had a live band playing but the music was so loud, I was screaming at my boyfriend so he could hear me. We are both 22 with no hearing issues. However, one of the people we were with does have a hearing issue that makes them sensitive to loud noises. The level was painful for me, so it caused her physical pain. To make things worse, the band was playing explicit songs with no censoring even though there were multiple tables with young children. Absolutely not family friendly. We ending up leaving quickly with nothing. Additionally there was a mandatory valet service even though the parking lot was small and dingy. The valet workers said nothing to us and expected a tip even though we didn't ask for or want that service. Do NOT eat here!! read more

It was the worst first and last my friend and I ordered a margarita and a mojito they were literally water no alcohol the food came with a man's thick hair and then when they replaced the food it came back with another thick hair. I love Margarita's! Come here for lunch a lot and always sit at the bar. The bartender is so nice and makes great house margaritas. I love the queso fundido, the lobster quesadilla and the enchiladas. The best part of this place is the consistency, everything is always tasty. read more

I have been to this location many times, especially during the pandemic. It is outdoors and was very accommodating. Last visit I have no idea what happened. The service is abysmal. We ordered guacamole, which they prepare at the table. I told the preparer "no cilantro" and spicy at least 10 times. No cilantro is the same in English and Spanish so it couldn't have been a language barrier. We went there on August 3, 2021. The margaritas were $3.95, great! I ordered rice and beans in a burrito with lettuce, tomatoe and sliced avocado (1/2) on side. My husband ordered Chimichangas (he got 3) with rice and beans and shredded lettuce. His meal came like that, it was $17.95. When the bill came my meal was $19.95 and the sliced avocado was $4.95. $25.00 for that. The receipt said bean and rice burrito, minus steak, minus cheese, minus sour cream and they had the nerve to charge me that much. Had I known, I would have taken all the stuff u didn't want hone to my moms dog!! Why do vegetarians get so ripped off??? I minuses so much and they added more money. We are fairly frequent visitors to this location and we keep coming back for the items we really like but sometimes when we try new stuff we aren't as thrilled. We actually had margaritas at happy hour on Thursday and they were top notch (sat at the bar). Today our much more expensive margaritas were not as tasty and were a different orange-ish color whereas the ones on Thursday were a typical green. We asked for regular margaritas not a flavored variety. As for the signature margarita chicken the sauce was good the chicken just ok. The pork chop would have been good but it was TINY especially for the price. The fried shrimp were excellent as was the queso fundito. Omg this location is UNBELIEVABLE! It's huge, completely outdoors, and right on the water. Service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the views of the water were so wonderful. I spoke to the server about if they were going to close for the season since it is completely outdoors and he said that they were going to close for two months soon to enclose some of the dining space so they can be around all year. I love the location of this Margarita's Cafe! Truthfully, I don't recall if I've ever been on this side of Freeport and I was pleasantly surprised how lovely the view was. The restaurant has a great opportunity to attract patrons who are tired of the "same old, same old" on the Nautical Mile, however, the place was dead on Sunday afternoon 8/13/17. That should have meant great service at the bar, right? No, not even close. There were 3 beautiful bartenders working the bar but they had other things on their agenda. Things like lipstick and hair styles and what they did last night, what they wore, who they did it with, a lot of drama and more lipstick ad nauseam. I was rather entertained by all of this, but the guy to the right of us and the couple to the left of us were pretty annoyed. It took 20 minutes to make a margarita and it wasn't all that great. They also didn't ask me if I wanted salt on the rim which took another 10 minutes to fix. We wanted to order some apps, but the girls never returned to take our order. So, Meh. I really want to like this place. I love that it's local to where I live, about a 6$ Uber so its perfect to grab a few drinks and go home safely. But the problem is service. I had to wait about 20 minutes for a sangria after being seated....this was on a week night, it was empty, no excuse for poor service. Food was subpar but the vibe was okay.
