I always try to stop in here when I'm visiting my parents. The food is consistently good and the red sangria is very yummy. On Sundays they have a mariachi band which is loud but very fun. Our table shared guacamole which was great. I have ordered many different meals and the steak entrees are usually my favorite. The atmosphere is also very cute. We have been here 3 times, always on a Friday night, and the food and service has always been very good. The service for the tables at the bar is particularly good. However I went tonight on a Saturday and ended up leaving after waiting almost an hour. We put our name on the list and we were not given a waiting time. After 10 minutes we asked and were told that we would have to wait for tables to open up- approx a 25 min wait. 40 min later we were told it would be another 30 minutes. I realize that it is hard to estimate time but seating hostess had nothing but open hostility, so we left. Margarita's is my favorite Mexican restaurant! My family and I have been coming here for the past few years. We began going to the East Meadow location and then transferred to the Wantagh location. The entire staff is extremely friendly, and the food and drinks are always delicious. We are often greeted by the manager, Juan who stands behind the podium. He is always going out of his way to ask us if the food and service are good. For this reason alone, we find ourselves coming back time and time again. This restaurant runs like a well oiled machine. The food and services is always exceptional. We will continue to visit Margarita's because of the delicious food, friendly staff and Vacation-like experience. The place has no WiFi, but bate traps about 2 feet from the tables. Worst part is when I asked for some type of bill adjustment I was given a 30% vip comp!! First of all, very good margaritas. Tuesdays I believe is 2 or 3 dollar margaritas. I also had a frozen margarita which was great. To have something in my stomach while I was drinking, I ordered the chicken taquitos. Other dishes looked great but mine wasn't very good, and a little bland. This place is decorated very nicely in a dias de los muertos theme, however. I suggest you order something else besides the taquitos, maybe that just wasn't my taste. read more

I came here on a busy Saturday night, but was lucky enough to get seated right away. Staff was extremely welcoming and the ambiance of the restaurant was just as welcoming with all the amazing Day of the Dead and cultural themed decor. It is not a large place but is extremely cozy. The food was absolutely delicious with very generous portions. Their menu is very extensive with many choices of all kinds of proteins. I have been to their East Meadow location which was great, and this location is just as great, maybe better. Kind of reminds you of a place you may see in lower Manhattan. Stopped in with the boys just for $3 margaritas after dinner elsewhere. They come premixed so I felt they were a little light on alcohol content and seemed to be a little tart, but in all honesty they were 3 bucks each. Can't complain. I've been to this restaurant so many times and always have a great time. I went recently however and the service and food were awful. We called ahead asking if they could accommodate our party of 8 even if 3 of the people were coming a little late. They told us it wouldn't be an issue but when we got there they told us we couldn't be seated. We explained how we had called ahead but it took them about ten minutes after telling us no several times to finally let us sit down. On top of that, all of our food came out wrong/bad. The waitress even came back over after taking our orders to confirm them all. One of us ordered no sour cream with her meal, it came with sour cream. One ordered pico de Gallo on the side, no pico came. One ordered a chicken an cheese quesadilla and EMPHASIZED SHE HAD A SEVERE FOOD ALLERGY and would like JUST the quesadilla and still everything came on the plate that she specifically asked not to have due to the allergy. I ordered a steak fajita medium rare and it was literally inedible (photo attached) and asked for a steak knife 3 times before finally getting one. We were all extremely annoyed and at the end when we got the bill we saw that she had already included a 20% tip without letting us know this would be the case. I would never normally complain about something like that but the entire experience was terrible and it was not the amount of money she deserved. It was very crowded and the only table left was up against the window in a tight spot, which we happily accepted. Once seated we immediately ordered drinks and an appetizer. As soon as our guacamole was prepared the waiter asked us to order. We told him we hadn't had time to look at the menu and asked for another 5-10 minutes to decide. His response was that it was a Saturday night so we couldn't sit there and take our time deciding what we wanted as they wanted to get our food out quickly so they could free the table. He was incredibly rude and we debated getting up and leaving. Instead, we called the manager over to explain what happened. He scolded the waiter a few feet from us and then didn't put another server on our table, so we had to have the same waiter we had complained about the entire night. He didn't even acknowledge us the rest of the night and it was very uncomfortable. The manager never gave any discount or coupon to compensate for our poor experience. The food was decent, but not worth dealing with the rude staff. I definitely won't be back. read more
