Brittany served us today and what a great waiter. She kept our table clean and our chips and salsa filled. Brittany is new to the area and you wouldn't know it unless you started talking with her. The bean dip is amazing and the queso is good. I got the fajitas with chicken and shrimp, flavorful but a little too greasy. My husband got the gringo, which he likes every-time, he also got an authentic taco which is now his new favorite. My mother in law got the chili and a tacos, which she liked. I was craving Mexican food and was in the Martin City area. I'd never been here before, and the mixed reviews made me hesitant. I only knew them from the salsa I've bought from local stores, and liked that. I was really glad I decided to come in. The host was an older woman who was so nice. I told her my name and she remembered it for the rest of the night. On my way out, she even thanked me by name for coming in and said she hoped to see me soon. It was a nice personal touch. The restaurant was busy, and our table and the floor surrounding it weren't the cleanest. It wasn't disgusting, but someone should have made sure to wipe the table and chairs a bit better before we sat down. My girlfriend didn't see beans on her chair before she sat down, and they ended up on her jeans. Not the end of the world. The service was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and nice, and really took great care of us. I got the pork tamales, which were delicious. Not as good as some of the homemade ones I've had, but certainly better than a lot of Mexican restaurants I've visited. Between the tamales, taco, rice, and beans, I had a ton of leftovers for lunch the next day. I think Margarita's is definitely worth a visit! read more

Went to Margarita's Martin City with my family including my 7 month old grandson. He was happy and a little loud - I don't deny that. However, when we went to leave the manager (term used very loosely) cheered and clapped that we were leaving. This was after she made screeches occasionally when my grandson was a little louder - we actually thought she was playing with him as no one had said anything to us during our stay and we actually had a couple folks come over and talk to him. As she made my daughter (mother of the child) cry, I confronted her as to the problem. She was exceptionally rude, the other staff appeared embarrassed, and other drunk customers chimed in. At no time did anyone say anything to us at the table as to any problem at all, in which case we would have worked to keep him quieter. Any manager could have easily handled this situation directly rather than passive aggressively making my daughter cry on her way out. If ownership sees this I would highly recommend you review your "manager" working 7/15/25 evening shift and really think about whether she represents the margaritas you want. For my family, we will never support margaritas again at any location nor with any of the store products your company offers. I have never seen a less professional representation of a restaurant ever. read more

I needed to meet a friend for lunch, and he was short on time. While Margarita's isn't in my regular traffic patterns, it was right around the corner from his office and he suggested it. We were seated immediately and the service was fast and pleasant. The food was good... neither deficient nor excellent. I had a quesadilla and enjoyed it, with some left for a snack later. Wow!! We've been to the other location in KC and liked it but this location was excellent today. We tried to come here a few weeks ago with friends but they were closed for remodeling. So thought we'd try again today for a late Saturday lunch. Obviously they had just finished a lunch rush. The interior is nice with plenty of large booths. Less typical Mexican decor and more casual dining feel. Got chips and salsa and not my favorite. A little thin and too hot. Got some queso and chips appetizer. Yes!! Excellent cheese texture and taste and the large half tortilla chips were fabulous!! I got the puffy tacos with pork and a side of guac. Delicious guac. My wife got a chim... Huge!! Delicious refried beans... Had some substance to them. My tacos were large and generously filled with wonderful roast pork that was moist and tender. I used the salsa as a taco sauce and it paired perfectly. Things were going nicely so we also got the sopillas with cinnamon sugar, honey, and cream. Yes!! The cream tasted homemade but it is a spray can. The texture was thin but I have to tell you these are some of the best we've found in the KC metro. I'd probably come back just to stuff myself with these. How is it we've never heard rave recommendations to come here?? I really want to come back to try the pork chili. If they serve it with some more of those half fried corn tortillas or some fried flour tortillas... I might go crazy. So by my own admission, I'm somewhat of a queso whore. I will eat queso anywhere (except Chipotle - their queso is garbage). If a restaurant has queso, I have to try it. Margarita's queso is just ok (white or orange), but nothing that separates either of them from countless others in town. In the interest of full disclosure, it's important to mention I still order it every single time. I occasionally connect with friends here for lunch and usually order the mini chicken chimichanga with, of course, queso over the top. It's a solid pick. The enchiladas are pretty good as well, but still nothing I would consider above the rest. However, they don't disappoint. My general rule is if you eat all of it, it obviously wasn't too bad. So that's my measure. Eating it all and wanting more is something completely different and raises the bar. Speaking of raising the bar, I think the service was pretty good today. Our waitress was attentive and kept us well stocked with chips, salsa, drinks and more. She was quick and friendly with checking us out and thanked us for coming. I'm going with a solid three stars for Margarita's, but if I was allowed to drink at lunch, this rating could have possibly crept into the 4 star spot. read more

Our crew on Halloween night, Barbie, Thor, Mickey Mouse, Marie Antoinette, Jane Austen and a cupcake roll into to a packed house. It became very clear this is where everyone came to hide from trick-or-treaters. We ignored the scowls and snickers on the way to our spacious booth. We dug in fierce to our fresh thin chips and smooth spicy salsa. Not a costume insight not even the staff dared a Jack O'lantern necklace. Waitress was really great, never commented on the ensemble though as if this sort of thing happens all the time. (The hostess though should probably move into a back of house position, customers or maybe just people in general, she appears to be over the whole mess of it.) We ordered the taco Tuesday buy one get one hard shell beef taco deal. Beef was salted and and peppered and that's about it. Dressed up with salsa and than it was a go. Shells dripped with grease but were generously topped with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Belly's full and off we went to score our sugar fix. Went here on Mother's Day for some margaritas and queso. They were super slammed but our waiter was attentive, quick and had good spirits. (I worked all day too and I was not in the best mood). It was a little loud but that is to be expected when it is SO busy. I got the sangria swirl margarita and it was tasty. What was great about this visit was that the parking lot was FINALLY done and updated... there is a lot more room for parking! Will start by saying the service was great! Our waiter was attentive, quick, and easy to get along with. The problem was the food- it was almost inedible. Tables are spaced out for covid but the host sat me and my son in the back by the corner booth which was occupied so we were definitely not 6ft apart. Ten minutes I sat at a tackle with salsa and chips and no water. 10 minutes and 3 servers walked past me and said nothing to me as I Looked their way hoping they were gonna be my server. I ordered the soft or puffy dinner for my Mom, an authentic taco and tostada for me, guac and chips and salsa. I thought the food was just ok. Our family went to Margarita's for my niece's 13th birthday dinner. We sat at a table that accommodated the 12 of us. There were three members, in my family, who ordered fajitas. I must say that they did not put an equal amount of meat on all skillets. Luckily, I love veggies, which is what I kinda ended up with. Overall, the experience was good and so was the service. Took my daughter to this establishment for taco Tuesday and a pitcher of Margarita. I directly asked my waitress for the taco Tuesday special and my waitress proceeded to add upcharges to my meal after I directly asked for the special. My bill came to $76.00 for a Margarita and 6 tacos. I paid.... then asked the waitress about the bill and she played me off. Asked for management from her and 2 other servers. I waited 20+ minutes while the waitresses mugged me. Bartender who I guess was the manager....or the toughest guy they could send because I'm 6'4 230 and African American admitted the waitress was wrong but didn't offer any solutions. For the first time since I can remember I put zero tip on a receipt. I'm also contacting the BBB and KC Commerce because I definitely felt the racism.
