Service was terrible, they told us that our table would be ready in 15 minutes but we had to wait almost 30 minutes for just our tables alone! Then the worst part comes in when me and my family had to wait for our actual meals it was around an hour and thirty minutes just for the food to come out and another 16 minutes for just the appetizers. For anyone in Ac I DO NOT recommend this place if you don't want to waste you and your family's time.

The appetizer done and is still been a hour we waiting for the food.

Service was way to late and food was decent we ate the appetizer n had to wait a hour for the entrees

THE GOOD ---------------- + Lots of tables and seats inside and spacious interior. There are also tables and seats outdoors as well. + Pretty large menu with seafood options, including lunch specials on weekdays for $11.99 (as of August 2025). + Restaurant can be accessed from the boardwalk in front of Resorts Casino. + Our waitress was pretty attentive and checked in on us every once in a while. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Food was as expected, pretty blah. ---- Grilled Fish Tacos were on the dry side. White rice and black beans that accompanied it were as basic as it gets. ---- Chicken Stir Fry was OK and came with a few pieces of, what seemed to be, General Tso's Chicken. ---- Chipotle Steak Bowl was pretty much a more expensive version of an actual Chipotle burrito bowl.

    - Friendly and attentive staff; waitress checked in regularly to provide updates on food and drink and to make sure we were good - Food was decent: Pacific Chicken Stir-fry--good flavor and saucy, chicken was fresh; Grilled Fish Tacos--nice, light flavor, but the fish was overcooked and dry; Chipotle Steak Bowl--steak was a bit chewy, but the overall flavor was solid - Lunch specials available on weekdays; very limited options - Great location on the boardwalk; ideal for beachgoers - Spacious seating with both indoor and outdoor options - Tiki bar on the beach adds a fun touch, but the overall vibe is a bit touristy - Frozen Havanas and Bananas was disappointing--just like generic casino pina coladas

The quesadilla (4 pieces) was the best part of the meal.

We thought about sitting indoors, but the solo musician was blasting his music and we wouldn't be able to hold a conversation. We sat on the boardwalk, in the dark, across from LandShark. A candle or something on the blank tables would have been nice. The best thing we ordered was the quesadilla appetizer. It was both delicious and filling. My girlfriend ordered a burger and I got the jerk salmon. The salmon was flavorful, though slightly overcooked. For some reason, there was something sugary underneath, which undermined the entire dish. Their "Perfect Margarita" is a far cry from perfect. (Sugar Factory has an exceptional "Classic Margarita" that outshined every restaurant we had been to in AC.) Jarvin was a good server but it was clear they were either understaffed or there was some minor chaos because all the servers seemed rushed and overwhelmed. For the overall lack of quality, the bill was far too high. $110 for an appetizer, two entrees, and two alcoholic beverages.

So we came into the loud live music I don't mind either outside or in but Rich through we should be outside. We didn't get a choice. The waitress was friendly. The key West quesadillas little kick but good and my husband had the double cheeseburger in paradise he loved. Mine I got the seafood platter it was smaller than the picture it was good. When I went to the bathroom which was sandy and shouldn't be like that. To me it was fine the price normal middle would I want to go back hmm. I got something at the merchant stand next the restaurant. I don't know see myself going back.

It all works out! Reservations for 12 people- they put us in this boat booth and expect us to all fit!! hahaha! No worries, grabbed a nearby table and chairs to make it work. Tuesday eve at 8pm, not busy. Food took a while, but it was all good! No left overs is a compliment! Cute decor. Service was good, the waiter was tipped well for doing a good job! Definately would stop again.

Our server was amazing! He was so nice! The food unfortunately was not. Got the fish tacos and nachos. Both were awful. The place is huge and was empty!

    Live music.

    What time is happy hour?

Daily, 3pm to 6pm, at the bar only... as far as I remember!

Loose food poor service? would you go back ? we will not

Actually I didn't like this place myself. It was expensive for no reason. The only thing I enjoyed was the beach-like environment. Food and service I'd rate a 2/5, therefore, I would not return.

It was the middle of the day so the place was pretty empty. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very cool. She had some good shows on TV and she poured heavy. The bar had a bunch of funny signs all over the place. It's a chill dive bar and I'm sure on a busy night it's probably a great place to grab an unpretentious drink. We found out we could buy drinks from BS and bring them next door which get you around the whole no alcohol situation. Well, the "Irish Pub" you know from the Monopoly game is actually this real property, "The Irish Pub and Inn", here on St. James Place in Atlantic City. During most of the year, this legendary, 24/7 pub is famous for its unique, memorabilia-filled atmosphere and historical ties to AC, the Monopoly game, prohibition, etc., attracting visitors who enjoy its authentic, home-style vibe. But during Christmas, its decorations are on a whole other level of amazingness. He made it very clear that the restrooms were for paying customers only. I firmly replied, "I plan to dine in, but need to use the restroom first. Is that a problem?" He didn't seem too happy with that response and walked away. As intended, I sat at the bar and ordered wings and truffle fries. The food wasn't particularly memorable, but the wings were a decent size. The truffle fries were fine, but nothing that stood out. Antonio clocked in about halfway through my meal and was a breath of fresh air. He was friendly, attentive, and completely changed the tone of the experience. Overall, it was a good visit with decent food and great service from Antonio. Unfortunately, my first interaction with Domingo left a poor impression and took away from what otherwise would have been a positive experience.

PRIDE, PORK CHOPS & PURE JOY AT BYRDCAGE ATLANTIC CITY…read more Atlantic City was absolutely glowing this weekend during the Atlantic City Great Pride Festival at O'Donnell Park near Stockton University. More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, and the energy was incredible--music, dancing, laughter, and love everywhere you looked. Just two short blocks from the festival at 3426 Atlantic Avenue sits one of Atlantic City's true gems: Byrdcage Atlantic City. I stopped in throughout the day to cool off, enjoy some mimosas and other refreshing low-alcohol beverages, hydrate, and eventually have dinner. From the moment I walked in, I immediately got why this place has such a loyal following. First, the cleanliness deserves its own paragraph. I have visited restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't remember seeing an establishment this spotless. The interior and exterior were immaculate. Not a spot of dust. Even during one of the busiest days of the year, the restrooms remained roomy, pristine, and exceptionally clean. The atmosphere is equally impressive. The décor is whimsical, fun, and carefully curated with fascinating photos and memorabilia everywhere you look. Outside, colorful murals create the perfect backdrop for photos and add even more personality to an already vibrant space. And then there was dinner. My server, Isabella, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. She even arranged for a dinner entrée to be served before dinner service had officially begun, and I was so grateful she did. I ordered the Seoul Mate Sizzle Pork Chop Platter, and wow. A beautifully grilled bone-in pork chop glazed in a sweet and savory sauce and served over fresh pineapple salsa, alongside creamy herb rice and perfectly cooked vegetables including broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and carrots. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the pineapple salsa took it to another level. It was one of those meals where you intentionally slow down because you don't want it to end. And the music? The music made me dance almost all day and well into the night. There was something happening everywhere--at the Pride Festival, downstairs, and upstairs on the dance floor. The DJs absolutely nailed it. Great music, great energy, and great people. I honestly lost track of time because I was having so much fun. Management was everywhere--engaged, attentive, and laser-focused on every detail of the operation. The entire team worked together seamlessly to create something special. More than anything, Byrdcage felt like what every establishment should aspire to be: a safe space filled with kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and pure joy. It was family-friendly, welcoming to everyone, and simply fun. I even bought a Byrdcage shirt at the festival because this is exactly the kind of local business I enjoy supporting. If you're visiting Atlantic City, don't just come for the casinos. Come for experiences like this. Come for the people. Come for the music. Come hungry. Come ready to dance. And absolutely make time for Byrdcage Atlantic City. I'll be back. #ByrdcageAtlanticCity #AtlanticCity #AtlanticCityNJ #AtlanticCityPride #GreatPrideFestival #Pride #LGBTQIA #LoveIsLove #InclusiveSpaces #SafeSpace #YelpElite #Foodie #PorkChopPerfection #Mimosas #DanceAllDay #DanceAllNight #SupportLocal #FamilyFriendly #RestaurantReview #AtlanticCityEats #VisitAtlanticCity #JerseyShore #StocktonUniversity #ODonnellPark #OrangeLoop #EatLocal #ACNJ #PrideCelebration #GoodVibesOnly #PureJoy #AtlanticCityBoardwalk #BeachVibes

I'll play first and eat later. Come back perfectly on time and what do I see? Couple that was still in the line when I made my reservation before them - was getting seated. And we had to wait another 10 minutes for the next table. After that it takes 19 minutes, yes I timed it, before server shows up at our table for the first time. I would have expected appetizers to be served at that duration. Later, I timed same thing for the neighboring table, still 14 minutes. I understand about being understaffed and overbooked. But in this case manager was present at the front and had not 2 but 3 greeter girls available. Why one or 2 of them did not convert to wait stuff? R just close half the tables. But no, we will keep running with a reduced service available. Guess what do I see next? Another busy server working exactly half the tables in my proximity who refuses to even stop by for a second. Nope, they each have their own tables and do not share tips - so he has absolutely no interest in helping those that are half a step away. And this is my favorite moment of the visit. By the 19 minute mark we both had made complete food decisions and were ready to go for beef Wellington. However, we learned from another visitor that dish is not cooked to order, but it's a conveyor. You might get that perfect serving or you might get completely cold undercooked meal that waited 30 minutes for you. Just get a steak, and order a custom readiness level: this way one will have to be next to it most of the cooking time. So, we get couple burgers with truffle fries and calamari. I'm looking for the menu section for English ale, and the only choice is Guinness. This is the moment where we should have left, but there would be not enough time to eat somewhere else decent. Calamari is ok, only ok. I was expecting something much better. I can easily take you to 3 places in central NJ that will give you best calamari of your life. Drinks came after app. So, even bartender is busy???? The truffle fries is the only start I'm giving this place in my review. But I guess that they come pre-seasoned in a frozen package, so it's hard to mess them up. Burger had a really good idea of combining pulled meat with your typical hamburger, and it would have been great it patty was cooked to order. I think mine was seating in a warm drawer for ages and then microwaved. Just good enough to eat. Overall this is the worst Gordon experience I've had, hint: try fish and chips place in Vegas. I will not be coming back even if some else is paying. Gordon, I would love to make you the best burger I can at home, then serve you some of the best ale and scotch money can get, and then we can drive to AC and shake up this place. PS. Manager was made aware of all troubles we had and yet did not made any attempt to play bullet out of you-know-what by offering round of drinks or cutting the bill in half. PPS. I run out of Guinness and server was never around to order a replacement. This alone cuts the tip in half in my books.
