They told me when I dropped off the car it would be $127 so I said no problem. When I returned it magically went up to $192! When I inquired into why they hemmed and hawed until it finally came out that they broke my oil filter cap. They claimed "those break all the time." I pointed out I have gotten my car serviced many times at the dealer (2017 car) and not once have they broke it. No response. They claimed they replaced it "with a better one." So you charged me $68 for a $30 ish aluminum cap that YOU broke. I really hate when people talk to women like they don't know anything about cars. I know they were price gouging me and I don't appreciate being talked to like I was an idiot. I have grown up going to car shows and working with my dad on his classic cars and I don't appreciate this behavior. I will not be returning. The only reason they get 3 stars is for the previous experiences.

Afterward, I checked their Yelp reviews and was shocked by how many negative ones they had. That didn't sit right with me, so I decided to get a second quote. I already had a good idea of what was wrong with my car based on past experience. When I called this shop, the difference was immediate. They were professional, respectful, and didn't argue with me or try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. I specifically looked for negative reviews--and there were none. I dropped my car off early that morning, and they gave me a clear time estimate for when it would be ready. They even sent photos of the issue. While I didn't fully understand what I was looking at, the fact that they were transparent enough to share images--knowing I could easily research them--told me everything I needed to know about their honesty. I don't remember the technician's name, but they took great care of my foreign car, Lexi, and I'm beyond relieved not to be driving around with grinding rotors anymore. I don't like to pay for replacement parts from the dealer (which appears to be the rule in this area of Maryland) but in this case it worked to my benefit. As for inspections, I have heard the same story about just about every repair shop. While I appreciate the level of scrutiny, it appears like a one time chance to obtain a lot of work. Coming from a neighboring state , I was naive as far as the costs and the 30 day requirement for findings to be resolved. A lesson learned the hard way. I have found the Walt Eger team to be responsive to my needs and to provide timely informative updates.
