After many years of visiting the Santa Monica Pier, we finally stopped in for drinks and a bite to eat. First off, Jose was an amazing waiter. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. We had shredded beef tacos and a salad. Everything was delicious. The best was sitting outside watching the waves hitting the beach.

We came to eat here because of the views and convenience at the Pier. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we visited (around 4pm on a Friday afternoon). The service was incredibly poor. It took a long time for someone to get our order. Once the order came, we needed a couple of additional things and drink refills, which I had to go find someone twice to help. When it got time to leave, we waited 30 min for someone to come by to get the check. Again, I had to go find someone. The food was great and atmosphere is of course amazing at the end of the pier, but the service was terrible!

The food was a 3 out of 5, unfortunately we had to ask for chips and salsa, our food arrived before our drinks. Mind yoh NOT when we sat down it was slow, it did progressively get a little bit more busy a little later during our sit down. Finally we got our food and when we asked the food runner for our drinks he said " I don't run drinks. I only run your food very rudely." my husband said well can you let her server know? It was very awkward, we constantly had to ask for napkins, salsa, check, ect there was no checking in..... won't be back!

We started with the chips and salsa. This place is on end of Santa Monica pier. It's a Monday and there was a line to get in. My wife is going with carousel enchilada. While I'm trying the carne asada fajitas. The waiter we had isn't very happy. This is a Military friendly restaurant.

Let's be honest, living in Southern California, I've had much better Mexican food. I'm pretty sure the ambiance and the table guac are what you come here for. The margaritas were pretty tasty and The service was speedy and friendly. Located At the end of the Santa Monica pier, there are some stunning views!

End of Santa Monica Pier. Nice view. Overpriced. They charge you for the chips & salsa.

Maria Sol was so good! We visited Santa Monica and decided to walk the pier, and chose this restaurant for the beautiful ocean views and it was definitely the right choice. The service was phenomenal. We ordered the tableside guacamole, and it was incredibly flavorful with just the right mix of ingredients. The chips were super crispy, and the salsa had the perfect amount of spice. I ordered the camarones al mojo de ajo, and it was really good. My husband had the chicken salad, and the dressing was so flavorful and delicious. Great views, great food, and great service, we'd definitely come back!

If you're ever on the pier in Santa Monica, this is a good place to go. The view is amazing if you sit outside, which we did. It's more expensive than the other items on the boardwalk, but worth it to me There were three of us and my wife ordered the Ahi tuna tostadas which she said were amazing. I ordered the Chile Relleno and enchilada plate. My daughter ordered the Carne Asada Wet burrito. It was all really good solid food. Definitely worth it for the ambience and nice cool breeze off the ocean. I recommend to sit outside. We also ordered a couple bloody Mary's, which were very good. The service was very friendly, and I have nothing to complain about. A little expensive, but that's what you get eating on the water. Definitely recommend.

My son and I stopped in at Maria Sol while we were visiting the Santa Monica pier. I absolutely love Mexican food, so this was a no brainer. We were seated right away, arriving around 11, and chose a table outside. I loved feeling the sea breeze and seeing the sunshine, it was a perfect day. I enjoyed a mango margaritta that was divine! For lunch I had two cheese enchiladas, rice, and beans. Every bite was very satisfying. We had chips and salsa to share. You do have to pay additional for this Mexican staple. This locations also serves tableside guacamole, I love it, but my son doesn't, so I passed on that this time around. My son had a plate of fajitas. We were able to fully enjoy ourselves while there, and I was able to enjoy some people watching at the same time. The servers were very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend checking this place out the next time you are in the area!

We decided to go to Santa Monica pier for the afternoon and were having a craving for Mexican food. This place is at the end of the pier so Ambiance was great. You can sit outside or in. It was warm so decided to sit inside. The ac felt good. I was worried about the service because of other reviews but we found the service to be very good. We were seated quickly and received our drinks. The food is fair, not the best Mexican but good. If you want an experience it is a good place to go.

My husband and I visited Santa Monica Pier about three weeks ago for a date night while we were up in the LA area, and we decided to grab dinner right on the pier. We chose Maria Sol expecting a solid Mexican meal with a great oceanfront vibe but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. Let's start with the positives: The atmosphere was nice. The restaurant itself was clean, and being on the pier naturally gives it a great setting. Now... the food and overall experience. My husband ordered the chicken fajitas, and honestly, it felt like a complete ripoff. There was barely any chicken mostly just vegetables and it came with what felt like only one piece of bread. For the price, the portion was extremely disappointing. I ordered the chicken and steak burrito, specifically asking for it not to be wet (and choosing the version that was recommended/popular). That part alone was confusing, and overall, the burrito just didn't stand out. Nothing memorable flavor-wise. We also got the chips and salsa (I believe it's unlimited). The red salsa was actually really good flavorful and well-made but the green one wasn't my favorite. Another thing that really affected the experience was the live entertainment. There was a man singing, and instead of adding to the vibe, it completely killed it. It felt out of place and honestly a bit inappropriate at times. That's something the restaurant should really manage better because it takes away from the dining experience. As for the service, it was just okay. Not rude, but not welcoming or attentive either. The waiters mostly just dropped off the food and that was it no real effort to check in or enhance the experience. Overall: Atmosphere: good Food: (mid and overpriced for what you get) Service: not the best Value: Would I come back? Definitely not. Between the small portions, average food, and lackluster service, it just wasn't worth the money or the time. If you're visiting the pier, I'd recommend exploring other options you can definitely find better value and quality elsewhere. Also forgot to mention that we ordered a horchata and it was OK nothing special

Wow this place is so nice! It is located at the end of the Santa Monica pier. They have both indoor and outdoor dining options. The outdoor dining area is facing the pier area and they have another one that faces the open ocean. The food is absolutely delicious! The service is excellent and very quick. Truly a remarkable experience and I highly recommend it if you are wanting to try a restaurant on the pier.

Chicken enchiladas. They were good, as were the rice and beans.

Overall this is a pleasant restaurant. The food is average, nothing spectacular but also not terrible. It's serviceable for sure. The service, however, was outstanding. We didn't have a wait and our waiter was on top of it all day. I think the main draw is the location. It's a great spot at the end of the pier, especially on a nice day when you can sit outside. Overall it's a great spot to relax while enjoying the pier.

We arrived early before they opened for lunch so we waited at a table outside. Since they opened a few minutes late, we were not sure about the employee situation so once inside, we chose to sit at the bar since we were the only ones at the restaurant. The bartender pleasantly greeted us and asked for our drink order. I went traditional with a skinny margarita and my husband had a screwdriver which pairs very well with Mexican food. The kitchen was just getting started so we waited a few minutes to order. The menu had so many great choices, we were excited to order our food. I went with the Shrimp Ceviche which was so fresh and delicious. I loved that there was so much shrimp and not a lot of onions and peppers filling the bowl. The fried crunch tortilla was also great for scooping the ceviche. My husband is more of a burrito naturalist so his chicken stuffed burrito was great. It had all the fresh ingredients neatly wrapped tight for easy eating. The service was very good and the restaurant did get quite crowded shortly after opening. I also enjoyed their homemade hot sauce that was just spicy enough when mixed into the complimentary mild salsa that came with the complimentary chips. I would definitely return to check out the other menu items.

From the moment we arrived, Sandro and Fernando, the hosts and owners, greeted us with warmth and genuine hospitality that set the perfect tone for the evening. Sandro and Fernando went above and beyond to ensure every detail was just right, checking in with our group, accommodating dietary preferences, and offering thoughtful recommendations that enhanced the experience. The menu offered a wonderful balance of flavors, with dishes that were beautifully presented and crafted with high-quality ingredients. Each course arrived at a perfect pace, allowing us to savor the evening without feeling rushed.
