The service is quick and I like the backyard feel of the patio seating outside or one wants to sit inside, there's plenty of seating indoors too. I got a few pastries even though there was a fly inside the display case but I'd rate them about 6-7/10. I'd come back for their drinks though, super good! I came across this coffee shop on social media. Nice setup outside with plenty of tables to sit and socialize. The inside had a few tables but definitely not enough. The staff was not very friendly, they seemed a little too overwhelmed....no one was greeting the customers. When it was my turn to order, the person taking my order wasn't NOT friendly or even asked if we needed help with the menu. Even when she saw us struggling with processing the payment she gave us attitude. We ordered empanadas and sweet bread. Came in yesterday, we couldn't wait to try.... All because of instagram. When we arrived the place looks very cute, nice and clean. It wasn't really inviting but it's ok. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a chocolate abuelita frappe (I am not sure that's the name of it) but my son liked the pumpkin one but mine was nasty. It tasted like chemicals no chocolate abuelita in my opinion!!! We also ordered chocolate croissant and they were ok... in my opinion mushy but my son really like them. I've noticed this issue mentioned in other reviews, and unfortunately, I've experienced it myself. It seems intentional that customers are being upcharged. On multiple occasions, I've ordered through the drive-thru, paid for a large drink, but received a small instead. Even after the staff repeats my order, they'll insist at the window that I only paid for a small and do not provide a receipt. This has now happened three times, which is extremely frustrating as a loyal customer. The only "solution" offered is to process a refund and then require me to repurchase the drink at full price--leaving me to take the financial loss for their mistake. Great coffee spot. Got the cold brew with horchata foam top and a concha. The drink was delicious and the concha was really good too. The only issue I had was that the concha was a bit over priced for the size of it. It's definitely smaller than most concha's from panaderias. They weren't too busy on a Saturday morning so it didn't take long to get my drink. I liked the decor, it reminded me of the classic Mexican movies I would watch with my dad as a child. This place is very underrated, I've passed by here so many times and never took the opportunity to try it until one day and I'm glad I did. I've had several of their drinks and all were so delicious and unique in their own way. The service is always amazing, the baristas are patient and very professional especially when i don't know what i want upon arrival. The drive through convenience is a plus and much appreciated. I also wanted to shout out Nelly who works at the front counter usually, she's amazing. She's very friendly and made my experience here a 10 out of 10. I have not had one bad encounter with any of the staff here and I feel that that is a plus. Her name is Genessis, and she was one of the most welcoming, kind, and outstanding people I've had the pleasure of interacting with. I haven't experienced such positive customer service in a long time, which is exactly why I wanted to take a moment to recognize and appreciate her hard work. She truly made a difference, not only did she have the patience with me, but she also went out of her way to accommodate my order! even modifying it to exactly how I wanted, despite it no longer being on the menu. This is like my new obsession. I've been here twice and my only gripe is that it isn't closer to my house. I've gotten the churro iced latte and my goodness, I am obsessed. It's sweet but not overly sweet. I'm also obsessed with their chorizo con papa empanadas. They really flaky and the flavor is amazing. This last time I took my son and he loves his pan, so we got him a white concha is said it was so good. It was really soft and he said it was better than Northgate's pan. Friendly and efficient service with a unique variety of different coffees and lattes etc. I tried the cafe olla which is a coffee with cinnamon flavor, and it was very good, with out being too unnaturally sweet or to strong on pure coffee flavor. The baked item I tried was the chocolate croissant, my mind was blown at how soft and delicious it was, I must say it was equally as delicious as a chocolate croissant one would get in France or the French Antilles. My husband found this spot online somewhere and we decided to stop when we were in the area. To be honest I'm a little conflicted about my feelings towards this spot. Let's start with the location. It's in a small shopping center but there was enough parking when we arrived. They have a drive thru with a single window on the passenger's side. There's a cute outdoors patio with chairs and cute plants. They also have indoor seating. The walls have cute saying and/or decorations. It's very aesthetically pleasing and can make adorable IG posts. They have a large selection of pan dulce, drinks, and even some food items. We decided to order an horchata frappe, an abuelita latte, a guava bread, and a churro crumb cake. The pricing was decent for the items. However, the horchata latte wasn't good. It didn't taste like horchata at all. Tierra Mia horchata frappes are much richer in taste in my opinion. The abuelita latte saved the trip though as that drink was pretty good! I don't know if it was meant to have chunks at the bottom though and so it was difficult to finish drinking since the chocolate was saturated down there. The guava bread was not good. Definitely skip that if you were imagining Porto's or Tierra Mia guava bread. The churro crumb cake was good though! We enjoyed that one very much. When we arrived, we had to wait for 30min or so to order. They had several workers attending to the guests to be able to get orders out faster. We only waited about 7-8min after ordering to be able to get our order. Overall, this place is pleasing to visit. There's also some good items on the menu so maybe if we're in the area we can try again. read more

This is a gem of Norwalk! I went here after a birthday party craving a refreshing drink and a sweet treat to have the next day. I chose a strawberry matcha as I have been on a matcha kick as of lately. I absolutely loved the matcha here & thought it was perfectly sweetened. I got the "dulce de leche cheesecake" and it balanced out really well with the drink since the drink wasn't sweet. I would have hated it if the drink was as rich and sweet as the cheesecake. I got a pink, and white concha with a chocolate chip cookie for the rest of the party crew. They got the chocolate caliente, I was honestly expecting it to be like chocolate abuelita or like Mexican hot chocolate but it wasn't. I have a love / great dislike relationship with Mariachi Bakery. The 3 star rating is my averaged rating based on the following: 5 for the coffees. They are delicious and strong! Starbucks across the street has nothing on Mariachi's coffees. My favorite is the iced cafe de olla with sweet cream followed by the Abuelita iced latte. 1 for their tortas. They are extremely sloppy and the "papas" were just a barely cooked hash brown. Also, my torta came with a fat dead fly wrapped in the foil wrapper. So disgusting. How does this even happen? How many flies are in your food prep area that you are able to wrap one in the foil with my sandwich. I will never be ordering food from Mariachi again. read more

They pastries looked so fire and tempting, I honestly wanted to get one of everything, they have an extensive coffee menu as well, with options and flavors that I've never seen anywhere else. Most definitely a unique shop. For food we ordered a Chicharron Empanada and a Birria Empanada. For caffeine, we had a Tres Leches Cream Cold Brew and a Strawberry Horchata Cream Frappe. Dios mio, madre mia, que delicioso estaba todo! In other words, as the kids nowadays would say, this food hit, it smacks! The empanadas were very unique, flakey, and with tons of flavor. Never could I have imagined Birria in an empanada, but it works. The coffee was the best part, I've been to many Latino Coffee Shops, and could have never even dreamed of the greatest dessert ever in a cold brew, but it happened. That Tres Leches Cold Brew made me want to get up and dance! The Strawberry Frappe was heavenly as well, we've made sure to make many trips back to get some more. What an awesome spot off of Studebaker and Rosecrans, with tons of outdoor seating in a cute little patio. My family visited this spot on a Saturday afternoon and there were a few others who came before and after us. Between all of us, we ordered a birria empanada, a chorizo con papa empanada, a chorizo con papa burrito, a large latte, and a concha; I was super pleased with the quality of the food for the cost! Service was pleasant, though a little on the slow side, but it felt worth the wait. The Empanadas: The empanadas definitely seem like the best way to go. The crust was melt-in-your-mouth flaky and super tasty. The beef in the birria empanada was very tender, well seasoned, and still consomme-y, which made the crust a little soggy on the inside but it was greasy deliciousness. My teenager was in love with the chorizo con papa one, muttering how delicious it was in-between bites. Like literally every bite. To be fair, it was really good, very meaty and substantial. The salsa and pickled onions were perfect. The Burrito: The tortilla seemed really fresh, and the burrito as a whole tasted homemade. My husband was a little disappointed by the size of the burrito, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The Pan Dulce: they had a large variety of pan dulce in their bakery cases, with the conchas almost sold out. We ordered a pink one for my toddler; it was way softer than we expected, super fresh and sweet. He loved it. Caramel Flan Latte: I'm always on the hunt for a good coffee spot, and this one seemed promising. It was sweet (but not overwhelmingly, which I was really pleased about). My mom and I were near by and decided to stop by after finding their Instagram. The pastries taste as good as they look! We had the ham and cheese croissant (gigantic) and the jalapeño croissant. My only complaint is that I wish the cheese in the croissant was cheddar instead of cream cheese (I think it was) but that's just a preference! We took home a chocolate croissant, concha, and churro crumb cake. All three were great, I think the coffee cake was my favorite! We had the Abuelita's latte and the Horchata Matcha (both with almond milk substitute) and we enjoyed both. Okay so even without the food and drinks being great, the service was amazing!
