We saw this restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it out. It was a great decision as the food was really yummy and the service by Franchelli was outstanding. We put on reservations that we were celebrating a birthday and they brought out welcome proseccos for us on the house. The meat pie was amazing filled with shredded oxtail in a pastry crust. The green sauce it came with was great too. We enjoyed the taro chips that came with the red snapper ceviche. The snapper was a little too salty for my taste but it was good with the chips. The tuna crudo had a great mix of textures. I loved the crunchy topping next to the tuna. It went really well together.

I'm so late writing this review but would be remiss if I did not give this restaurant their 10s (or 5 stars in here lol). I had my birthday dinner here and the general manager, Tim, was so great. I had people coming from out of town so I had to change the reservation a couple of times & he accommodated each time. When we arrived, there was a menu with "Happy Birthday!!!" at the top, which made the dinner all the more special. I really wish I could remember our server's name because he was delightful and I know it was probably a little overwhelming with a table of 15 people (I do have a picture of him though because he snapped a selfie when taking a group pic for us, which I found hilarious when I saw it). He pulled off service flawlessly. There was not a single complaint out of the whole party. Everyone also raved about how good the food was. For my drink, I had a Flower Power Sour (it matched my all pink outfit & I love a pisco sour, which it is a twist on). It was delicious and cutesy. I then split an oxtail hand pie and should've had my own because it was so good. Perfect dough and well-seasoned filling. We also shared the chili butter roasted oysters, which were delicious as well. My entree was the coconut curry pork with fried yucca and pickled cabbage. TEN OUT OF TEN. Some of the most tender and flavorful pork I've ever had. If people weren't around, I absolutely would have licked the remaining curry out of the bowl lol. Everyone else's dishes looked great and I was told they were delicious as well. I was so glad that everyone left happy. This is definitely a place that will continue to get my business!

Found this spot around the corner from our hotel. We stoped in during happy hour- had a quick drink, ordered oysters, the tuna dip with saltines and the red snapper ceviche - which was amazing! Oysters were fresh and the dip was tasty. The bartender was friendly and so was the oyster shucker. It's a pretty large restaurant with a nice size bar. We were there Christmas Eve, so it wasn't crowded. We enjoyed our time there so much that we returned the day after Christmas with a few friends. Would love to return and try more menu items.

Easy five star review, the food was excellent! Service was a little slow, but I will definitely go back. Food: the winner here is the food. The oxtail empanada was simply amazing. Made to perfection. I would go back there just for that dish. It was so amazing. Shredded to perfection. Every bite was full of flavor. The green sauce on the side was simply the best. The sea food gumbo was also amazing. Service was a little slow other than that I would definitely come back and it's an easy five star review here. The customer service was great though everyone that worked there was nice. Maybe they were short staffed today. I'm not sure but the food was top-notch easy five star review. Also, the lounge area was really cool and nice looking as well. Definitely stop in if you're in the area

really good oysters and the seafood gumbo was amazing, but it got cold fast. service was good, our waiter was able to accommodate some specific dietary needs. i needed oysters ASAP when i landed in NOLA and this turned out to be a perfect lunch spot. the drinks were a little mid.

I may have reviewed Maria's Oyster Bar before, but it's worth sharing again because every visit truly impresses me. I've been several times--both seated at the bar and in the private lounge seating area--and the food and service are consistently excellent. I love the selection of oysters from different regions around the country, and it's always fun to watch them shuck them right in front of you. The vibe is cool, relaxed, and very New Orleans, and the location in the CBD makes it an easy go-to spot for happy hour, dinner, or a casual night out. Maria's continues to be one of my favorite oyster spots in the city. Always a great experience!

I was here for a conference over the weekend and this place was so good I had to come back a second time before I leave the city!! They have a small menu but everything is very well made. I particularly love the fried oyster salad, it's light and crispy, and they serve with two amazing dressings! The red snapper ceviche stood out to me - it was so fresh and paired with fried taro chips and it was divine. I'd definitely visit this place again when I attend a conference next year in New Orleans. The waiters were friendly and professional, and it's a medium sized restaurant and a nice interior design. I walked in for lunch without any reservation. Food: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Value: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10

Quick and easy bite while I was visiting the area. The staff was tremendous and so so kind!! I ordered the oysters and gumbo and both were delicious. Would 100% recommend to anyone either visiting the area or locals alike!

The location near the WWII museum worked great for us. Cool hip interior. Friendly hostess. Solid waiter. Wonderful Savagnin Blanc Oysters on the half shell were on point. My salad with fried oysters was absolutely delicious! A friend had a fish sandwich with chips, and he loved it. 10/10, I would do this place again.

Great time experiencing Maria's for the first time. I opted for a glass (or two ) of Pinot Noir and some oysters. Quiet ambiance and kinda moody with the king section on the right. I went for a mix so I chose: Gulf Wild, Admirals & Murder Point. Bill was serving up the halfshells nicely and ensured I knew which set was which in my selection. The mignonette was a nice complement as well as their house made hot sauce. Highly suggest giving them a taste next time you are in the CBD area!

I've been wanting to check this spot out for happy hour. I went twice in one day for lunch then came back after work for happy hour. Happy hour is also on weekends (which is a plus). For lunch I had the grilled gulf fish sandwich (drum). Could have been seasoned a little more. The bead was throwing me off. The fries were good. Taylor the bartender and Matthew the oyster sucker were so cool. Service was good! I'm not even an oyster eater AT ALL. However, Matthew talked me into trying an raw oyster I could not believe I did that. I must say his concoction with the sauce that tapped the oyster had a nice crunch and flavor to it. It was cucumber and I think red pepper . When I came back for happy hour Lauren (blue hair) was cool. I tried the sangria. It didn't give me the sangria vibes that I was looking for. However, it was more spritz forward. I had the pimento cheese croquettes. It was good. The ambience was pretty nice. It definitely gave me the seashore vibes. With the twist of a lounge.

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

Atmosphere/Appearance: It's EXTREMELY BUSY and very loud in here. Lol. As mentioned above, the bar is located inside the hotel so once you walk in through the front door you enter the lobby then head to the right. It's a first-come, first-serve situation (at least it was for us at the time). So of course, the carousel bar is the highlight. It's a slow rotating bar rail and it's adorable. Lol. Almost the entire bar is eyeing any available spots so you have to be quick, but be respectful. However, there are tables and such sprinkled throughout the bar where you can hangout at as you stalk the actual carousel. My wife and I sat in the window which made for some excellent people watching. Lol. Eventually after what felt like an hour or we did spot some spots on the carousel, my wife held them for me as I closed the check then finally got to sit... and SPIN! The bar completes a full revolution every 15 minutes so you definitely won't get dizzy. Service: We had no issues here whatsoever. The staff is just super busy all over the place, but they didn't miss a beat. Food: For my first drink I checked out their Oaxacan Midnight which was like a tequila play on the Old Fashioned. It was delicious, a bit lighter than an Old Fashioned, but certainly stood on it's own. For our first appetizer bar bite we tried the Blue Crab & Corn Beignet which didn't come out as I was expecting. Lol. I'm not mad, I just pictured the big, fluffy things from Cafe Du Monde, but maybe stuffed with goodies! These were more like fritter than I absolutely loved so much I ordered a 2nd plate. Lastly we tried the BBQ Shrimp which was grilled to perfection with a good snap, excellent flavor and good char along with a tangy, cream sauce on top. Value: It's pricey. Food and drinks were decent, but a SMIDGE overpriced, but... they know you're going to pay because you're on vacation, you're a tourist and you wanna be in this novelty bar. Lol. Regardless, I had a blast and you can say you did too whenever you check this place out! In conclusion, I've now been there, done that. Lol. I don't have to do it again, but if you're in the area, check this place out. It's a good time.
