    Corned beef hash omelette
    Kenny D.

I was excited to finally get to Marie's following all the rave reviews I heard from people and read on Yelp. Ultimately, for me it was a mixed bag. The service was very good. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and in true diner lore I observed them being even more engaging with the regulars. I ordered a corned beef hash omelette and grits. The grits were solid but I was less impressed with the omelette. While I appreciated the significant bang for your buck with a huge omelette worth twice the sticker price on the menu, the meat was perhaps too plentiful and overpowered the eggs - making the dish less balanced than I prefer. The eggs also lacked the "real eggs" consistency and taste I love. It was ok, but when I cannot finish a dish that says a lot - I have a huge appetite after all! I am, however, glad my table mate said they have delicious cakes. When you first walk in there is a display of many wonderful looking cakes, and they do taste as good as they look. I tried a slice of chocolate and a slice of blueberry lemon. They were both succulent delights, making it a darn near certainly that I'll be back to the diner even if only to buy more cake!

First time here and definitely won't be our last! We came during the snow storm and called ahead to make sure they were open. Their lot was cleared of the snow and ice, but they were packed with people! We walked into a warm restaurant with lots of smells hitting our noses. We glanced to our right and found a whole case of desserts which looked so appetizing. We got seated almost instantly and had a great waitress named Kim. She knew the 6 paged menu like the back of her hand. We took advantage of some of her favorites, and they didnt disappoint! I ordered the iconic sausage gravy and biscuits. The gravy was definitely homemade and poured generously over the top of the freshly made biscuits. I also got 2 eggs and some scrapple. Kevin had the chicken fried biscuit pictured on the menu and subbed loaded brunch potatoes for his side. The portions for everything were way larger than expected and caused us to have leftovers. We will definitely be back soon! Jake n kev

We were greeted by our server and immediately seated. The place was actually more crowded than we thought it would be on a weekday evening. Ordered two fried chicken dinners. Each came with two sides plus a side salad and a biscuit, for 10.99. The food was average, but considering price and the amount of food, a great value. Not super fancy, definitely a no frills place. But if you're on a budget and super hungry this is definitely the place for you. Weekends during brunch hours are typically packed, so maybe try a week day for a shorter wait time. Oh, and how can I forget...the cakes. For the price point, serving size, and taste, these cakes are definitely worth trying. Whether they're home made or not is up to you to decide, but for cheap eats....no complaints here!!

This charming, family-run spot may be small, but it delivers big on flavor and hospitality. The food is consistently excellent, and the customer service is top-notch. The biscuits are absolutely incredible, and the steak is cooked exactly to your preference--mine was medium, and it was perfect. Be sure to try a mimosa; they're delicious and come in a variety of flavors. Arriving early is a good idea, as there can be a wait, but trust me--it's well worth i

Greeted with a very friendly smile and atmosphere. Thank you Eddie! Employees looked like they should all be exhausted, working so very hard. Extremely valuable, and varied menu. Something for everyone! No matter what you're looking for they have a homemade meal for you that feels touched with the loving values of a soul to please the pallet. Erica our waitress was a constant blur of business. There is a wait to be seated for a reason!

This place never disappoints. The food is delicious, portions are beyond generous and the prices can't be beat! We purposely take a longer route when traveling through to make sure we grab a delicious meal no matter the time of day!

Marie's Diner offers that warm, Southern, home-style vibe with generous portions at incredibly reasonable prices. I've tried everything from breakfast to lunch and dinner, and every meal has been excellent. If you're planning to visit, definitely check their website to join the waitlist ahead of time--there's usually a bit of a wait, which speaks to how good the food is. The seating can feel a bit tight, but the delicious meals and great service more than make up for it!

The vibe here is of a casual diner, with an expansive menu that changes often with the seasons and local eats. I came here after visiting a friend out in the Waldorf area and decided to grab take-out before heading back into DC. I will admit I almost did not stop here because it was near closing time and I hate order from place near closing. I got here near closing and the food was just as fresh as if it was opening time. We all know how it is getting somewhere to eat near closing time.... You tend to get subpar service and food. You subject to getting a scraps, bad orders, guilty eye rolls from your server, "ain't got this, "ain't got that," issues....lol. But, this was not the case at this Silver Diner. It was a great experience from beginning to end. Our bartender/server was Cameron C. and he did an amazing job serving us and making us feel welcomed. He's truly a people person. He kept the drinks on point while we waited for our food and made sure our orders were prepared exactly how we requested. During this visit, I tried the Short Rib Burger, Loaded Fries as a side & Buffalo Wings. Everything was delicious and fresh. And, the burger was the star!...A juicy 1/2lb burger pattie cooked to perfection....topped with bacon & tender braised short rib!! It was complete meat overload, super fresh and sooooo good! For anyone that is "meataholic" like myself...you gotta try this thing. My wings and the loaded fries complemented my dish well too. Not to mention, everything was packed well for the long haul and drive back to DC....of course, I couldn't resist and snuck in a few bites of the fries at each stop light heading back down Route 5. Let's just call it a #qualitycheck! lol ;-) In all, I enjoyed my visit. This location gets two thumbs up in my book. I'l definitely visit this SD again if I am ever in this neck of the woods hungry and in need. * Yelp Elite Tip & Honorable Mention: Sign up for their "Eat Well Do Well" Rewards Program. LOVE the coffee sooo much, we bought a bag for home! Super cute, artsy establishment. Presentation is always on point buttt the food was wayyy too salty. I feel so weird saying that because I'm typically disappointed in the lack of seasoning in restaurants. NOT HERE. Hubs agreed ... his eggs and my salmon frittata and potatoes were just not edible. Today, the standouts for hubs was the million dollar bacon; for me, the cheese grits and honey biscuits and, for both of us: the coffee. Worth the visit. Will return. Will just be more selective with my order.

While I waited for my food to be prepared I took a lot around the market and they have so many different items for sale (spices, honeys, cheeses, etc.) There's a little sitting area where you can enjoy your food inside if you'd like and a nice selection of wines, vodkas and whiskeys in the back. But to be honest, if there's a next time I'll order eggs over easy. My husband had the Oat Milk Protein Pancakes short stack. He ordered a side of scrambled eggs. He was kind enough to let me have a bite. The pancakes were full of blueberries and pistachios. They were tender and topped with almond coconut cream. Mmmm. They were great! My nephew had the country scramble. It included sausage and bell peppers. It was all gone in a blink. My niece had buttermilk pancakes and eggs. She enjoyed the pancakes but commented that the eggs were a little over cooked. The restaurant is beautiful and located in the National Harbor area walking distance from our resort. As always seems to be the case, this place is run by a restaurant group, because I have yet to see a small independent establishment pull this nonsense. Food is passable albeit not great. Just note that in the name of "transparency" the prices are hiding the actual costs behind this fee. If you want to round it out to 20% with a tip, at least the fee tells you exactly how much that is. I have to assume the 10% fee is going to increased wages because that's what I82 is about. If the restaurant group is pocketing any of that balance then they are just stealing from their staff, which might explain why the staff is not upfront about the rationale for the fee.
