Plain bagel toasted with lox dill spread - counts as basic sandwich
    Steph H.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Super popular, super crowded. The Sunday morning line was no joke. I lucked out and got there right before the line got really long, but they had only one cashier so it still took quite a while (eventually a second cashier came out). It's not a huge place, so seating was limited, but there was also some outdoor seating. I got a plain toasted bagel with lox dill spread. They really give you a lot of filling, and while the bagel was good, can't say it was the best bagel I've ever had (good crust, but the interior didn't have that slightly moist elasticity i like). I got a bottle of fresh-squeezed OJ while in line, which turned out to be very good but also very spendy. Glad I tried them, but not sure if I'd return, unless I knew it wouldn't be that crowded.

Came here on a Thursday morning since we heard it can get busy during the weekends. Got lucky with street parking too because people were at work. We walked in and there was no line. There were still lots of people having brunch and enjoying their bagels. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese bagel on a jalapeno cheese bagel. There was plenty of egg, melty American cheese and a couple of pieces of bacon. It wasn't salty and the actual jalapeno on the bagel was a bit spicy. The bread itself was crunchy and soft, if that makes any sense. This was delicious and even better when you add some hot sauce to it. The hubs got the pizza bagel on a plain bagel and this wasn't so exciting. It had pepperoni and a good amount of it but we weren't too impressed with it. The Jersey Girl was good too. We appreciated the Taylor ham and finally glad we were able to try this. It's almost like spam but not as salty. This was on a plain bagel as well. I would get this again, as well as the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. We also ordered the lox and dill cream cheese to take home and ordered a jalapeno cheese, Asiago, plain, salt and two cinnamon raisin. All bagels need to be toasted. The cinnamon raisin was a nice treat, not too sweet but wishing it did have sugar on it. The lox and dill cream cheese was so so so so so good with all the other bagels we got. You can definitely taste and see all the lox and dill in the cream cheese. I would order all these again. It was just so so good. The place is also cute and the staff are super friendly. Some of the sandwiches are a bit steep but for good bagels, I'll pay for it. Overall, I would definitely return on another random weekday.

As a New Jersey native, I had high expectations for these New York style bagels and they were met! The bagel itself was so airy and light. An awesome texture and great amount of everything seasoning. Inside I had pork roll, egg, and cheese. There was so much egg and cheese - I definitely was not skimped!

The BEC was the best item that we got. The yonkers wasn't that amazing and could've used a little more flavor. The Salt Bagel with the garlic chive cream cheese was good but not amazing either. The bagel was pretty rough to bite into but the cream cheese was delicious. They let you choose what toppings to add to it at no extra cost which I did like. They let you add dill, capers, red onion, pickled onion, etc. You can order online and pick up which is what I did and there was no wait. It wasn't that busy because the hype has definitely died down. I LOVE pickles, but the pickles here were not good. I wish they were more tangy or sour.

Super cute and cozy bagel spot in North Park. There are a couple indoor tables and a small amount of parking spots right outside. There is ample street parking as well. It was pretty pricy for some basic bagel sandwiches. Even the veggies on the lox bagel had an upcharge. I was also hoping to add cream cheese to my bacon, egg and cheese but they said they are unable to add that on. The taste was decent, but not the best bagel sandwiches I've had.

Tried this place after another bagel shop was sadly out of bagels. Got a bacon, eggs, and cheese bagel on a robust garlic bagel. Hubby got a bec on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. The flavor of the bagels was very prominent. We thought the sandwiches were tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Bagels were being made and baked in the shop.

Went early on a weekday morning and it was pretty busy! Waited around 15 minutes for 3 bagels (two of them being the BEC) and they were worth it. I love that every bagel comes with a pickle--it's the perfect refreshing side. I brought this bagel to the beach (aka about 30 minutes later) and it was a little greasy, but I feel like it would have been better if I ate the bagel fresh out of the shop! I'll definitely be back to try a classic bagel with cream cheese; they have so many great options.

The bagels were so delicious. I had arrived 30 minutes before closing and luckily there were a few good bagels and options left. They had closed their breakfast menu which I was really hoping to try. I got the Lox salmon bagel with scallion cream cheese on a cheddar bagel. It was so good and so filling. I would definitely come back again to try their breakfast.

Went for a Saturday morning breakfast and luckily breezed right through the line, because by the time we reached the counter, it was out the door and down the stairs. They offer a great variety of bagels and schmears, along with several signature sandwiches, or you can build your own. The wait after ordering was about 15 minutes, and everyone behind the counter was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The breakfast bagel we ordered was loaded with delicious bacon, and the bagel itself was perfectly soft and chewy. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Seating is limited, but tables turn over pretty quickly. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

The food, the food here knocked my socks off! The Crown Heights with scallion schmear is 10/10--hits all the tasty notes. I've been singing its praises everyday since I had the pleasure of meeting it. Great location and kudos to the chef, the person who created the recipe, the staff who assembled my sando; a million xoxo to you!!! Yes, I'm already planning my next visit and will do my best to eat the menu! I got othet items but The Crown Heights was my superstar standout!

Last Thursday, my daughter, my husband, and myself decided to hit Marigold's bagels to celebrate my husband's birthday. He is a huge bagel fan. Construction was happening on the street right in front of the restaurant so we parked around the corner and walked through Madeline's patio to get there. That was a little awkward, but nothing that was Marigold's fault. Just know that parking is an issue even without construction. We placed our orders and found a seat. When our name was called, I picked up the order came back to the seat, divvied out everybody's order, open my box and noticed that mine was incorrect. Now the woman that rang me up was very nice. I tipped the highest on their iPad. And my order was wrong. This happens more often than not now and it makes me reluctant to want to tip if you're not going to fill the order correctly and then I have to wait for it to be fixed. They were nice about it, but it's so annoying and it's becoming a problem everywhere we go. The bagels were good and if I didn't need to drive there, I would probably go more often. I am surprised that they did not have coffee drinks like lattes, etc. just drip coffee. And juices. It seems like in this day and age every little restaurant has baristas as well. So if you just want a bagel and drip coffee or some kind of juice Marigold is your place.

This place was going off on a Sunday! I had this on my list for a while and decided to swing by when I was in the area. Around 930am and line was pretty much out the door. This place is serious about their New York bagels it's pretty much just bagels; they serve some brew coffee and a fridge for drinks but the bagels are their sole focus. Onto the bagel- I've never had it from New York but this bagel makes me want to book a trip asap. It's so fluffy and fresh and everything you want in a bagel. I'll say that there are some bagel spots that are adventurous with their culinary toppings. This place sticks to the tried and true sandwich combos. I got the bec (bacon, egg, cheese) but with ham. It was good and basic, seasoned w salt and pepper, but that bagel really made the sandwich for me. What I love about this spot is how dog friendly it is! There's a treat jar at the counter and they converted part of the sidewalk space to a little grassy spot for the pups. Parking is street parking but I did notice a sign for ADA spots in the back of the spot. I got it to go but seating is limited due to how popular it is. The patio has the most selection &; tables. There's a handful of spots inside but you'd be sitting in between all the ppl ordering/ waiting for their meal. My advice would be to try to go during one of their slower times. On a popular Sunday morning it was about 15min in line to order, then 15-20 min wait. I was in no hurry and grabbed a latte next door while waiting, but close to an hour for a bagel might be a lot for some

Great spot the staff was so friendly and very inviting. Lots of places to sit inside and outside. The food was awesome. The bagels were a little on the harder side for me but the pricing was very competitive and inexpensive for the area so a great option for breakfast! If you get a hot sandwich to go, they wrap it in foil and even 30 minutes. It was still extremely hot.

This past Sunday, I decided to head over for a morning walk and finally stopped in again. The shop is pretty small with limited seating, so it's not really a place to hang out. It seems more like a grab-and-go coffee spot. There aren't many great coffee shop options in this part of Coronado, so I can definitely see why it's popular with both locals and tourists. I arrived just before the morning rush, so I was able to order and get my drink almost immediately. The cashier was super friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression. I also really appreciated that they offer a military discount--it's always nice to see businesses supporting the military community. I ordered a medium cold brew with coconut cold foam and asked for very light ice. I was so happy they actually listened! So many coffee shops still fill the cup with ice even when you ask for light ice, and I hate watered-down coffee. This one was perfect. The coconut cold foam was absolutely delicious and added just the right amount of sweetness to complement the bold flavor of the cold brew without overpowering it. I also love that they serve organic coffee. I'll definitely have to remember to stop by more often whenever I'm in Coronado in the mornings. Next time, I need to try one of their donuts too!

Let me start with that I've been a big supporter of Nomad Donuts since the fruition back on 30th street. I used to work with the owner Matt over a decade ago at The Active Network. I also know mistakes can happen and can easily roll with it. That is what makes today's situation extremely bizarre. I ordered a Black 'n Blue sandwich without onion rings, on a toasted rosemary bagel with a small black coffee. My coffee came out first with the wonderful employee with dark curly hair worn in two buns. She called out "Anda", (my name); and handed me my coffee. About 7 minutes later she walked up to me with my sandwich and handed me my sandwich and said, "Here you go, Anda." I said, "Thank you! Have a good day!" and left. I drove home, opened the box and realized it was not at all the sandwich I ordered. Disappointing but things happen. Since I found out with a previous order months ago I'm allergic to an ingredient in one of their sauces, I couldn't risk it. I called Nomad Donuts and spoke with a kind employee who told me my sandwich was waiting there and they accidentally gave me "Anna's" order. I told her I couldn't make it back there and requested a refund. She said no problem and I would receive the refund in a week and apologized again. I said, "No problem, I know mistakes happen and told her to have a good day." Less than three minutes later the supervisor called me back. I missed the call and returned her call immediately. This is where things got strange. She told me the previous employee I spoke with got things mixed up. She told me I TOOK the wrong sandwich. I corrected her and said, "I didn't take anything. I was handed my sandwich." She asked if it was the person that took my order. I said, "No. It was the lovely woman with the dark, curly hair in two buns." The supervisor said, "You're going to get your refund but know we have name mix-ups all of the time so you know for the future. I'm going to talk to all of the staff." I told her, "I told the last employee I understood mistakes happen and I wasn't upset just asking for the refund." The supervisor then said, "You must have misheard your name." I said, "I didn't mishear anything. She walked up to me, handed me my sandwich and said, 'Here you go, Anda.' I thanked her and told her to have a good day." I then explained to the supervisor that it's really strange she was calling me to blame me for their mistake. She said, "I'm not blaming you." I said, "You are. I didn't take anything and didn't mishear anything." She said, "I'm just letting you know for the future." This whole interaction was so bizarre. The supervisor took the time to call me back after I originally called to request a refund politely and kindly and understood mistakes happen. In the process she blamed me for the store's mistake. My questions are: Why did this supervisor even call me in the first place? To blame me for their mistake? To warn me this happens all the time with them to know for the future. An easy fix would be confirming the order with the name. Or was it to try and avoid giving me a refund when they were the ones that made the mistake? I wish I told the supervisor to watch their security footage as that would be proof the employee came up to me. Seems silly over a sandwich but the supervisor is the one who mishandled things. It's a bummer and shocking this is how things were handled. It is especially disappointing as I have been a customer since Day 1 and always knew of Matt to be really kind and hire top notch employees. am only writing this review as the situation has been bothering me since the call two hours ago and thought Matt should know. Unfortunately I will have to think twice about returning moving forward as this was extremely bizarre to me. Hopefully this supervisor was just having an off-day and it's not the norm.
