My best friend showed me this park a while back, it's the "sleeper park" and we go here to sip our alcohol out of red cups, we're chill and laid back people. The people here are friendly, all walks of life, people walking dogs and they have a tennis court and they also have a playground for kids, AND bathrooms. I am sure there is a good serious reason for the name of the park but forgive my middle school humor but it did make me chuckle. It was also ironic that I could smell some Maryjane when I was running around as well. It's a really nice, big park. They have some big redwoods, a big lawn, and tennis courts as well. This park is in a nice neighborhood, has plenty of space to play soccer and baseball at the same time. There are 2 play areas with swings and slides as well as jungle gyms. The bathrooms are kept fairly clean and even have working soap dispensers. This park is in our neighborhood where I have lived many years. I can see and hear baseball games and kids and families having fun. Occasionally I walk my neighbor's dog there and she loves it. It seems safe to me although I would not go there after dark. There have been a few serious problems there over the years, but the police have addressed most of these. The berms on the grass at night can become hiding places because police lights just pass over them. The city has talked about flattening them out but most are still there. I like taking little kids to the park to play on the swings and slides. The area around the park is great for bikes and we enjoy seeing people using our sidewalks for strolling too. Several reviews here complain about both unhoused people and "ghetto people" from the apartments nearby (most of whom, in both cases, are BIPoC). PLEASE do not call the cops on black and brown people, unhoused people or poor people hanging out at the park!!!!!! It is a public park, and people who live in the area, housed or not, have every right to be there, as do visitors from outside the area. This area, like so much of the Bay Area, has been dramatically impacted by gentrification. Please be kind to your fellow humans and know that language like "ghetto people" is classist and racist dog whistling. read more

I've been going to many local dog-friendly parks lately as I have a new puppy. We came to Marijane Park in order to attend a puppy play date. The park was very quiet on Saturday Morning. There were a handful of dogs on one side of the park playing fetch with their owners. Many of the dogs were on leash. Now that I think about it, I think our two dogs were the only ones on leash. On one side of the park, two teenagers decided to use giant remote control race cars obnoxiously through the park. Their activity didn't last too long, but it did take up 75% of the park. We were worried about our pups getting injured or chasing the RC toys. Other than that, there were people working out and exercising by the children's play area. This park doesn't have the nicest grass as there are patches everywhere, but the park in general is kept very clean. It's also not on a major street, which is always a plus. read more

I discovered this park not too long ago as I was biking around the neighborhood. I came to appreciate this park as I see plenty of people using it to it's full value. There are plenty or children on the playground, people playing soccer, tennis, and baseball. No ghetto people, just families, like the good times. So as I was looking for the address of this place to review it, I found about some recent not so appealing facts about this place, but whatever, all parks have the potential of having uhh mishaps happening at them. Anyhow, I came here for the first time on Saturday for bbq and fun for two friends' birthdays. It's located amidst residential area and just off the Hamilton exit, just a few turns after passing Panera Bread. It's a nice park. There were tables, bbq pits and bathroom that was pretty clean for a park restroom. We played some softball on the softball field and ultimate frisbee and capture the flag on the big grassy field. We live within walking distance of this park and take my 19 month old son there fairly often in the mornings to play. It's a nice park, I love that the toddler playground is gated in so I don't have to worry about him running off somewhere if I turn my back, it's also mostly shaded so great to got on warmer days. He's also just gotten to where he can navigate the playstructure pretty well on his own, which is nice. The other play areas are pretty nice, too. I do tend to go more in the mornings when the park and playgrounds are less crowded. In the afternoons there's lots of kids that play there, but also teenagers that will hang around by the play areas and sometimes use inappropriate language very loudly (gosh do I feel old complaining about that sort of thing! lol But it does really annoy me). Unfortunately I have also found that when we're the first ones there in the morning there will be a decent amount of trash scattered around the play areas... kinda sucks especially since there are plenty of trash cans around. read more

Small lots of shade.... People don't clean up after their dogs but the park is still nice. Baseball field is so so on maintenance . In a decent neighborhood basketball court small and really only good for young children. My daughters best friend lived ten feet from it so I've been here often. Cute park in the shade that is gated!! But not great for kids under two since tons of stuff is too high for them to reach and it had sand which my Twins just hated! The swings are in a separate area that is open and are nice. It's a large park with an area for BBQing and playing baseball. Also has another area for bigger kids to play in. The park itself is great, especially the play structures for the children. Nice shaded picnic benches and grills too. There were two things that bothered me, the first is the number of young adults (15-19yo) hanging out smoking. The second is the faint hint of urine by the tennis courts. It seems that a number of the dog owners in the area lets their dogs run free, which is fine. But they tend to urinate on the picnic tables and the trashcans. I like taking my daughter here to play, but might consider a different venue for a picnic. read more

Despite the Juvenile pot heads that hang out here, this is a very nice park. It's set in a nice neighborhood and the people are often families enjoying the time with their younger children. Police is aware that pot heads congregate because of the name of the park so they do frequent patrols to keep the families safe and sound. My kids love walking to this park. read more

Cute park with a HUGE grassy area. One playground bustling with kids and a huge tuff of grass that can be used to play a small game of (even) football. It's a bit hilly, though, so it might be bad for soccer. My dog and I loved playing fetch in this park! We will definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

On the third sunday of every month, in the mid seventies,for one dollar you could race your bmx bike on the bmx track at hamman park. Thats where i started racing bmx, which by the way, is now an official olympic sport, was at hamman park. Those were the days! read more

This park is a mixed bag...I came here once before and loved that it was quiet and not overrun with suspicious-looking people. I came back today and it's a completely different story. There are people with shopping carts and tents here. Another guy is sitting at a picnic table covering his head with his hands. I'm sure he's not here for a picnic...I absolutely hate that as a young female working in the area I can't come and enjoy this great green space without constantly looking over my shoulder. There is a playground in one of the corners of the park close to the road, which looks like a fairly safe area, but the rest of the park does not look safe to me. I would not come here at odd hours or on my own unless I was keeping in the area of the park closest to the road. So disappointing! read more
