I've been here several times, having tried the beef Gyro Plate, the beef Shawarma, and the lamb kabobs. I usually stick to the rice and veggies for my sides, but I have tried garlic fries. I believe this is truly some of the best food I've ever had. It's all so fresh, comes out nice and hot, and tastes amazingly. Every bit of it from the pita, hummus, and the main course was absolutely divine. I've never been a big fan of seafood, but the bite of the clams I got made me want more. If you're asking about prices, you are without a doubt getting bang for your buck. Aside from the quality, which justifies price already, you also get healthy portions. This is the kind of food you eat, and feel pleasantly full from. No nasty "oh man why did I eat all that" like you would with, say, an average restaurant or fast food. Absolutely delicious fresh cuisine with a friendly staff to boot. The owner of the establishment is super hard working and kind & also owns the fish market right next door! (The market has tons of quality fish for sale as well if you prefer to do your cooking at home.) I was excited as I found a new place by my house for Mediterranean food. Downsides: too expensive! I have better dishes from another place for $10 instead of $14 that they charged!, rice is dry (super dry!) and bland, I ordered medium beef kabob plate and the beef came out well done! Things I've eaten here: Hummus/Baba Ganoush - Great flavor, though made in a style without much lemon. Lobster Bisk - Great flavor with good amount of lobster inside Shawarma - Nicely cut and huge portions! Mediterranean Nachos - One of a kind and simply awesome! Gyro - Well seasoned Garlic fries - Lots of garlic! Mmmm! *Steamed Clams* - Probably the best clams I have ever had. Unreal sauce. I would come just for these. Brought a table of eight and we were not disappointed. The beef and chicken shwarma were aromatically seasoned, tender, and delicious. The halibut ceviche was amazingly flavorful. Salads were crisp, and the Chicago-style garlic fries were crispy and pungent with fresh garlic and parsley. Baba-ganoush was amazing. The staff are working out the service bugs as all new restaurants must--the chef, sous chef, and owner Marilyn filled in the gaps beautifully. When they found out most of our table was gluten free, baskets of sliced cucumbers appeared to replace the fresh warm pita. I need to come back to try the rest of the menu, but it will be difficult not to stick with my new favorites. Came here for dinner and the place was packed! All tables were full and we waited about 20 minutes to be seated. I ordered the fish tacos (three Alaskan halibut tacos, flour tortillas, chopped cabbage, cilantro, tomatoes and chipotle sauce) my little brother got the fish and chips, and my mom got mixed vegetables and a garden salad and we ordered hummus too. The hummus is amazing, and the pita bread it's served with is so soft! The fish tacos were filled to the brim and so good - and the French fries... DELICIOUS! From reading the reviews on Yelp, the family decided to try this place out. I ordered the fish and chips. The wife had the chicken shwarma. Kids had spaghetti. To start we had the hummus and fried clams. Kids like their food. The hummus was decent, on the creamier spectrum of hummuses I have had. Could taste the garbanzo beans and tahini and not much else. The fried clams were also decent, but not a lot going on with them. The wife's chicken was decent, but very light on flavor. Maybe it was not marinated long? The meat was juicy, and did not have that vertical broiler taste and texture from that style of cooking. (Or the quick toss on a grill can add). My fish and chips were lackluster. The batter on the fish was thick and after cooking was a hard shell that had to be cracked open. The cuts of cod had that membrane running down it that was very tough and inedible. One filet was over cooked, the fish was on the rubbery side, and the other was just slightly under done. The garlic fries were really good! Service was spotty. The waitress had two other tables when we arrived. One had their food, and the other had already ordered. We were seated promptly, but had a few minutes of just sitting there with our menus closed and stacked in front of us. The waitress was nice overall though. We might try again someday, but not high on our list. read more

I'll definitely order here again. I ordered delivery and I entered my unit #, but that detail was not saved for some reason. I don't know what happened but there was confusion because there are multiple units in this complex. The hummus was really good with a nice presentation with a tomato, olive and cucumber. The crab cake was good with a hint of spice flavor. The fish tacos were a disappointment though, fishy tasting and really dry and the corn tortilla was really dry tasting like it was sitting out or something. The chicken shawarma plate was a little dry and tasted more like Indian food but still had a decent flavor. The rice and salad that it came with was really good though. The baklava was a little dry nothing compared to Mammas Hummus in Newbury park. The menu was wrong on their website and the person who took our order was really rude and abrupt. Luckily the lady that walked in and assisted me afterwards was extremely nice and apologetic. Wonderful customer service from her and another man even offered to carry all the food to my car. Marilyn's is by far the best family owned restaurant in Simi Valley, the food is fresh, the vegetables crispy, the sauces, and dolmas handmade by grandma, the seafood is to "die" for. It's so nice when not only the waitress but also the owner approaches each table to check if everything is ok. I was craving hummus and the Greek restaurant I normally order from is undergoing renovations right now so I decided to grab some hummus and pita bread from here.
