Her bedside manner is exceptional professional, caring, and genuinely sweet every single time I've visited. I've had nothing but positive experiences overall, and she and her team consistently deliver high-quality work. I did have a minor disagreement during a recent visit, and there was one procedure that didn't turn out exactly as hoped (though I'm optimistic it can be addressed down the line). While that left me a bit disappointed at the time, it doesn't change the fact that Dr. Racic stands by her expertise, does excellent work, and truly puts patients first. We recently moved into the area and found these folks down the street. It was nice to have it within walking distance. The website says something about accepting all insurance companies - what they do is have you pay, then file your paperwork and your insurance company reimburses you for their portion of the expense. While it's not my preferred way to handle insurance, we really liked the office and will be keeping them on as our dentist. My husband and I have both been now for a regular cleaning. The staff is friendly. The folks are great at letting you know what's going on and what to expect. The facility is clean, appears to be state of the art, and is comfortable. I highly recommend! I was a bit hesitant to try Marina District Dentistry because I noticed that their location seemed more prestigious than others but I am soooo grateful that I gave them a shot. Worth every penny. Their state of art equipment combined with top notch customer service I received from all angels (front staff/dental hygienist/ dental assistant) was worth every penny. Check your insurance coverage in advance. Marina District Dentistry lists all major insurers on their website, but they are not in network with any of the insurers they list. If you are not in network, why list "all major insurers" ... as if you are? Misleading at the very least and possibly bordering on fraudulent. Have Jacqueline check your out of network coverage in advance of services. I questioned x-rays and fluoride treatment but was told "should be okay". That is on me for not insisting on proof (which Tracy would provide written verification of in the past) in advance of the work. Very disappointed with the quality of work performed by Dr. Racic. Still experiencing pain. Will not return to the office, which is sad. Used to be a very pleasant experience going to see Dr. Duguid, Tracy, Ophelia and Cathy. read more

Six months ago I made an appointment for my routine dental cleaning with this office. My insurance coverage was vetted and I was to be there yesterday at 10 a.m. I was surprised when no one called to confirm the appointment as is usual. When I showed up, I was told by two young women in reception that I did not have an appointment. Then I was informed that I could be seen by the dentist but that she was "out of network", meaning that I would have a co-pay of $50.00. My fiance and I had been patients for quite a while and most of everyone in the office is nice and we loved Dr. Ivana Racic. We decided to change dentists last year after having Eve'tte as our dental hygienist. I am not sure if she even still works there, but when we were going there, both of us had her for regular checkups/cleanings and she is very unprofessional. She tries to make small talk & jokes that are inappropriate and when I was in the dental chair I felt her rub her chest against my arm several times. She wears low cut shirts that expose her chest when she is leaning over you. At first I thought it was by accident when she rubbed against me but then it happened too many times and seemed purposely. When it came time for our next appointments, we decided not to return and found an alternative dentist that is just amazing. read more

I've had many dental problems for much of my life; and I've probably seen a dozen dentists over the years. Dr. Duguid was recommended to me by friends, and he was my dentist for a couple years. The man was terrific. Honest and down-to-earth. When he retired, he brought in Dr. Racic. Dr. Racic is one of the better dentists I've had. She has an attention to detail and expertise in her work. It is obvious that she really cares about her patients, and she will refer you to other specialties when it's in your best interest. That's the kind of dentist you want. The specialists she recommends are high level. She's done excellent work on my challenging situation. I read a review that was somewhat negative, and I've experienced the exact opposite. She's very pleasant and down to earth. Dr. Racic has done three crowns for me, and it was all excellent work. Ophelia, Tracy and Drago are all courteous and professional. Ophelia was also the assistant to Dr. Duguid, and she is highly experienced. It is also important to note that Dr. Racic always makes herself available for dental emergencies. Unfortunately Dr. Duguid recently retired and a young russian dentist woman took over. Even though she appears nice and nothing personal, she's not the same caliber of what Dr. Duguid's dentistry was. I went to get a cap on one of my molars and she took double time than Dr. Duguid used to take. I felt like spent the whole day at that office. I've been happily going to this dental practice since I moved to San Diego 5 years ago. The former owner, Dr. Duguid, recently retired and I was dismayed. No one likes change. I was reluctant to accept a new dentist by default. But this practice is attractively located just 3 blocks from my home so I decided to try out Dr. Duguid's successor. I am so happy that I did! Dr. Ivana Rancic is personable, empathetic and, I believe, highly skilled in her field. The first task she was charged with was replacement of a worn crown. Of course, she has the latest technology and she was able to remove my old crown, prep the site, make a new crown for me in her own on-site lab and install it all in a single short visit! I have subsequently visited for oral hygiene performed by Wendy the wonderful hygienist. I was very satisfied with her care as well. Oh! Tracy, the lovely receptionist, is still at the Front Desk, a wonderful reassurance to me and surely to all former patients of Dr. Duguid. read more

I rarely give a poor review however I feel the need to advise people to do something I should have. I visited the office to get an annual cleaning and x-rays. The appointment was very long as the assistant kept having to redo my xrays. You are required to provide them with your insurance so they are aware if you are covered for their services. I was not informed until after the service when I received a bill that I was out of network. Granted I should have done my research ahead of time but I felt that was a little shady to not inform a client until after services were provided. Thank goodness I did not have major work done. I know many businesses are trying to recover this year but please be ethical in your practices. The service was just okay again long appointment and many repeats on the xrays. I visited Dr. Duguid and my experience felt very strange. The staff was kind, but he gave off a very strange and awkward vibe, while working on my teeth. Very touchy feely and made me uncomfortable. Needles to say, I won't be going back for any further work. It was my first time there and came to him, bc he had some great reviews, so I'm sad to say it was a bad, well, horrible experience/first visit. When someone makes you feel uncomfortable while in their chair, it's time to speak up and find another new dentist in my area. I am new to down south so I searched the surrounding area. I used to be a patient of Dr. Duguid. I had a great smile before I became a patient, and he kept that smile looking exceptionally great while under his care. Then life events called for me and my family to move across the country, where I couldn't settle on a dentist that I liked and unfortunately I let my smile die. By the time my family and I moved back to San Diego all of my front teeth had cavities and holes. It was a mess and very upsetting. I went back to Dr. Duguid hoping that he could fix the damage I had done to my teeth. And instead of criticizing me for ruining what was once such a beautiful smile, he smiled at me and told me we're gonna get that beautiful smile back. During the next appointment, he fixed all of my top front teeth and gave me back my smile. I couldn't believe it. I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was like none of the cavities and holes had ever been there. I still have my bottom teeth to fix, but at least for now I can proudly smile without shame. My mother came to visit me the day I had my top teeth done and she almost cried, she was so happy for me. I can honestly say that I've never had a better dentist than Dr. Duguid. His staff is always polite and his assistant is just as professional as he is. His office is very clean and meticulous in how they have everything set up.
