[[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped in for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised to find a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They serve all the classics of a bar and grill. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was easy to talk inside with a moderate crowd noise around the dinner time rush.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Cody was our server. He was accurate, made excellent recommendations, and greated us with a smile. We'll definitely be back for the service alone. We did order one dish of a burger and extra fries. It was better then your average sit down restaurant burger. I ordered the strawberry lemonade that was a perfect balance of tart and sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Smaller details- the restaurant overall was clean, including bathrooms[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a children's menu available.

This was the first restaurant we ate at as we arrived for the week. We liked it so good we decided to come back. The vibe is upbeat and beachy. They even had live music. Our food was delicious. I especially liked the ahi tuna salad. Everyone enjoyed their meal. We wouldn't mind going back.

This place is everything you would expect and more!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we got there, we felt transported to the Caribbean. From the live music playing outside (which was perfect because it wasn't too loud), to the decor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. This was one of the only meals where we didn't use to-go boxes. The food was all so good, we devoured it all! My kids loved the hamburger, chicken "thumbs" and the fries. I went with the cap't shannen special, and it was so good! Imagine a hollowed-out pineapple half full of shrimp, chicken, pineapple, onions and peppers. It was a flavor overload! If I had to change one thing, I would like the rice and beans separated on my plate, but I loved this dish! O, and the house margaritas were VERY good!! Just an overall very enjoyable restaurant!

The food exceeded expectations, but let's talk about the ambiance reflected in rating: [[HIGHLIGHT]]the bathroom looked like it survived spring break '09[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and our server was in a constant game of tag with coworkers for help. Refills? Bussing? Emotional support? Thankfully, the kitchen carried the whole operation on its back like an overworked lifeguard. Verdict: Come for the food, stay for the fries, and hold your breath if nature calls.

It was cooked to perfection, as were the fries on the side. The sauce, however, lacked flavor as did the fries. Calypso sauce is just mild buffalo sauce apparently--not a very good one at that. Very oily. I wish they'd said that and I might have tried the bbq jerk sauce instead. My mom got the nachos, but as a vegetarian she got them without the black bean chili (contains beef). This dish was a good size, but also lacked flavor. The saving grace was our waitress. She was fantastic! Very friendly, but wish she was a bit more honest when asked about the flavors.

Mediocre food and service. Nothing stood out. My Grouper sandwich was basic and for $30 it should have been much better. We were vacationing in Siesta Key and drove through St. Armand circle and stopped by for lunch. Our waitress had a bit of an attitude. I almost felt I was at Whispering Canyons in Disney IYKYK. This place is a skip for me.

Cha Cha Coconuts - A Tropical Bar & Grill which is not your typical tropical bar is absolutely amazing. My family went unexpectedly on Christmas day 2025 and we were pleasantly surprised! You cannot go wrong with the wonderful drinks! I ordered a tropical sangria and drank every last drop. It was so good! Our table started off with chips and queso. I loved the colorful chips and warm, gooey queso! My husband ordered a burger and I got San Juan Nachos. The plantains here are the best I have ever had. My sister in law raved about the gumbo. Our server Heidi was fantastic! She took her time to get to know her customers and made everyone feel right at home. I love Cha Cha Coconuts and next time I am in Sarasota, FL, I will definitely be back because the drinks and food were out of this world and the customer service was the best! I suggest you check out Cha Cha Coconuts, you will not be disappointed!

Decently good! This restaurant is owned by the same group as Columbia Restaurant that is right next door. They are very different though. The menu here is more coastal/floribbean. My group got the chicken with guava/banana/mango, burger, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. I thought the chicken was very very good. I really liked the flavors and the chicken was very juicy. The burger was good as well. The coconut shrimp was very coconut heavy, less so shrimp. They were good, though. The conch fritters were also pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. For desert, we got the guava mango cheesecake and the key lime pie. Both of these were amazing! The cheesecake had a great guava flavor and the key lime pie tasted so good and not artificial at all (which some restaurants definitely do.. yuck!) Overall, decently good meal! The server was very attentive and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the inside had lots of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I made the reservation for here and it didn't seem to get too packed throughout the time we were there. The food was very average. I got the jerk chicken tacos with rice and beans. Only 2 tacos but they weren't bad. Wife got chicken quesadillas and they were very wet and chicken tasted funny. Salsa wasn't terrible. Daughter had the Cuban sandwich and said it was a 10 out of 10. Overall for the first night on the island it set expectation to only go up. read more

Response to Jeff H. Customer Service I now see that we (party of 3) all got a badly made salad. Our server Kelly should've seen that it was not made correctly. It was not creamy at all. I told her it tasted like rinsed lettuce so she brings me a little cup of Mango Vinaigrette for 3 people???? How about bringing us the actual dressing it should've been made with????? Or 3 new salads. Your kitchen needs to be careful what they do. The server needs to be more alert. I doubt we'll ever return. read more

We came here during the week because we honestly wanted to sit inside and have AC. I made a reservation online, which was easy enough to do. When we arrived, they had a reserved table for our group of seven, which was great. Our server (I can't remember her name, but she was friendly and ready to accommodate our group). While we were waiting for a few people, we ordered drinks for the kids and I ordered myself a beer. Everything came out quickly. When the rest of our group arrived, we ordered dinner for the kiddos. One kid got mac and cheese, one got a corndog, and one got chicken fingers. All kids meals came out quickly, they came with fries, and were served on a take home frisbee. All the kids gobbled up their meals. For appetizers we started with the chips and queso and then the shrimp fondue. They were pretty standard and tasted good. For dinner I ordered the mahi dinner with rice and double plantains, which I've gotten before and enjoyed. Everything came out quickly and tasted to our liking. If we come back to Longboat Key, we'll probably come back to Cha Cha Coconuts. read more

Went today and the service was great. I had a half salad and half gumbo for $18. The gumbo was literally a can of Progressive soup - same thickness, same mushy rice down to perfect cubes of over processed chicken with little holes in it. The menu also said it has shrimp in it l which it did not. It literally was uncanny to a can of soup with some spice added. Definitely not willing to pay $18 for a can of soup I can get at the grocery store anytime. read more

My wife and I were staying in Sarasota and took the trolley to Cha Cha Coconuts and our server was super awesome and the ambience was classical casual Gulf Bay. I ordered the 1/2 Cuban and the 1/2 Tony Salad. A perfect amount of food and a reasonable price. It was a classic Cuban, pressed bread with all the meats, not the best Cuban I have had, but good. We were fortunate enough to enjoy lunch outside with live kettle drum music that brought the experience all together. The vodka lemonade was amazing and started us off right. My family's favorite appetizer is the Brooklyn Style Wings - maybe because we are from Brooklyn, but the wings are addicting with the flavors of sausage, peppers, and a vinegary sauce. The burger was the most surprising of them all, with big flavor and smokiness infused into every bite of meat. Oysters were clean, fish was fresh, and the homemade chips had the perfect crunch. I'm so glad I discovered Brine, but now am so disappointed that I don't live in Sarasota full time to be able to dine here more often. This was definitely one of the best meals of my visit, and I will continuously recommend to everyone!

We saw our server when we ordered. When our food was delivered, and when the check came. I did get a tshirt($20) and with that our lunch was $81. The owner is a drunk asshole who will come up to your table and accuse you of not washing your hands after the bathroom. He has no idea what he is talking about. Treats women like shit and is there only for a popularity contest. I was on vacation with my girlfriends family and didn't want to make a scene but he made that impossible.
