Atmosphere was pretty nice although there was a weird stalker type guy just hanging out, seemed to be just going around eating peoples leftovers. I could be wrong but kind of weirded us out. The food was very average. I got the jerk chicken tacos with rice and beans. Only 2 tacos but they weren't bad. Wife got chicken quesadillas and they were very wet and chicken tasted funny. Decently good! This restaurant is owned by the same group as Columbia Restaurant that is right next door. They are very different though. The menu here is more coastal/floribbean. My group got the chicken with guava/banana/mango, burger, coconut shrimp, and conch fritters. I thought the chicken was very very good. I really liked the flavors and the chicken was very juicy. The burger was good as well. The coconut shrimp was very coconut heavy, less so shrimp. They were good, though. The conch fritters were also pretty good, but nothing mind blowing. For desert, we got the guava mango cheesecake and the key lime pie. Both of these were amazing! The cheesecake had a great guava flavor and the key lime pie tasted so good and not artificial at all (which some restaurants definitely do.. yuck!) Overall, decently good meal! The server was very attentive and the inside had lots of seating. I made the reservation for here and it didn't seem to get too packed throughout the time we were there. It was cooked to perfection, as were the fries on the side. The sauce, however, lacked flavor as did the fries. Calypso sauce is just mild buffalo sauce apparently--not a very good one at that. Very oily. I wish they'd said that and I might have tried the bbq jerk sauce instead. My mom got the nachos, but as a vegetarian she got them without the black bean chili (contains beef). We came here during the week because we honestly wanted to sit inside and have AC. I made a reservation online, which was easy enough to do. When we arrived, they had a reserved table for our group of seven, which was great. Our server (I can't remember her name, but she was friendly and ready to accommodate our group). While we were waiting for a few people, we ordered drinks for the kids and I ordered myself a beer. Everything came out quickly. When the rest of our group arrived, we ordered dinner for the kiddos. One kid got mac and cheese, one got a corndog, and one got chicken fingers. All kids meals came out quickly, they came with fries, and were served on a take home frisbee. All the kids gobbled up their meals. For appetizers we started with the chips and queso and then the shrimp fondue. They were pretty standard and tasted good. For dinner I ordered the mahi dinner with rice and double plantains, which I've gotten before and enjoyed. Everything came out quickly and tasted to our liking. The gumbo was literally a can of Progressive soup - same thickness, same mushy rice down to perfect cubes of over processed chicken with little holes in it. The menu also said it has shrimp in it l which it did not. It literally was uncanny to a can of soup with some spice added. I ordered the 1/2 Cuban and the 1/2 Tony Salad. A perfect amount of food and a reasonable price. It was a classic Cuban, pressed bread with all the meats, not the best Cuban I have had, but good. The Tony Salad was amazing. Really liked it and it went well with the local IPA I ordered with it, For a tourist place, I would recommend it. Now here is the difference between a good server and one who rises above the fold - Our server extraordinary Mike suggested we order the meal Coconut Shrimp versus the appetizer as for a few $$ more you get 5 extra shrimp and fries/cole slaw.
