We popped in here without a reservation on a Sunday evening. We were greeted immediately and seated very soon after. I will recommend a reservation since I genuinely feel that we got lucky. We had Tiffany taking care of us tonight and this incredible person genuinely loves her job and cares about the business and it shows. She was incredible to us. Had helpful recommendations and checked on us frequently. The food was really great. We tried the Fried Chicken Plate, Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and the Brussel Sprout Salad (the kids had burgers and mac and cheese). We also had Fried Brussels Sprouts, which was phenomenal. Everything was delicious. The food was made fresh to order, so it can take a little while so plan ahead. It's worth the wait. The restaurant is clean and the corner we sat in was veryyy comfy. Above all, was truly our experience with Tiffany. She was so patient with us and made us feel so welcome from the moment we crossed the threshold. I loved her honesty and she gave us fantastic recommendations. She even went out of her way to make sure our kiddos each got stickers which they were so happy about. We went there for the brunch menu. Food is quite good and portions are large. The only downside is the "country potatoes." They lack taste and are the driest potatoes I've every had. Too bad they don't serve grits. read more

Best place to eat in Ramona. The hamburger is consistently the best I've had. Nice fresh salads with homemade dressings. The fried chicken breast was lovely and perfectly cooked. A lot of great new places fall off in quality or service but Marinade has been delish and welcoming consistently. Be prepared to wait!! Everything is made fresh and with care. Don't go if you are looking for fast food. As with every restaurant, I wish people would leave their "comfort" dogs at home or outside inconsideration of other guests who have severe allergies. This spot is incredible. My fiancé and I came from Orange County to look at a wedding venue and they recommended we stop here for dinner. We ordered - Brussels sprouts - Alfredo with chicken - burger The Brussel sprouts were perfectly cooked, a little crunchy on the outside and covered in a balsamic that was impeccable. The portion size was also large. The Alfredo was the best Alfredo we've ever had. Period. It was so flavorful without being super heavy, the crispy chicken was delicious and the texture was perfect to go with the Alfredo. Then the prosciutto and arugula tied it all together. The burger was great too but we were especially impressed with the Alfredo! We are going back next time we visit our wedding venue and we already can't wait. 11/10 recommend! read more

My mom and I were on our way to Julian for our annual trip (in December) so we passed through Ramona for lunch. We were both blown away by the great lunch we received. It was so good! I ordered the cranberry turkey focaccia sandwich and my mom got the Waldorf salad. The chicken in her salad was one of the best I have ever had. The coating was to die for. I called our waiter over and asked if they had chicken tenders on the menu. Kids would eat this stuff up. Unfortunately, they do not but the chicken is used similarly in other dishes like the honey chicken sandwich. My sandwich was very good too as it reminded me of eating Thanksgiving leftovers on fancy bread but would have been even better if it had the same chicken. It came with some wonderful thin cut, crispy fries with rosemary. I also got a Jones soda - root beer. We had the pleasure of being served by Jacob. He was extremely attentive and nice. I enjoyed chatting with him. I hope that he is working the next time I come into the restaurant. Any time I am visiting friends in the area, I will make it a point to come here. My friend and I went here the other night. I was excited to have my friend try their food. I have eaten here two times before and the food was amazing. We both ordered salads, I had grilled chicken on mine which was so dry it was hard to cut with a sharp knife. My water was refilled but they didn't refill my friends water until the end of the meal. I called in an order at 4:30 they told me to allow 25 minutes so I showed up at five, and sat down at the bar where all the servers were. They all looked at me, but no one would say anything to me. I watched people from other tables get up get their own napkins, and ketchup without the three servers addressing them. After ten minutes they asked me if I had been helped yet I said no I have a order to go, and gave them my name, keep in mind my order should have been ready fifteen minutes ago. A couple minutes later the server came and asked me what I ordered because there was nothing ready. This was the first chance I have gave them in two years for the same bad service and food at that time. I've lived here for 30 years why in the last three years do I have to shop and eat in Poway or Escondido to get service. NO STARS BUT I CAN'T POST WITHOUT ONE! read more

Three of us went to dinner. Started with a wonderful hummus board with toasted olive bread. One of the group ordered the Alfredo with fried chicken on top. Excellent creamy and very light Alfredo sauce. They use thin spaghetti so you know it need to be lighter, but still one of the best I have ever tried. The salmon was fantastic on a bed of still crisp but gently steamed and sautéed veg. Even the pickiest eater would enjoy. I tried the pistachio pesto with pea greens and local mushrooms. I saw no basil, few nuts, no pea tendrils, generous amount of oil. There are better options -explore them. I would still highly recommend this restaurant read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant, since we are not from the area. The food was amazing and especially the customer service. Tiffany was our waitress. She was the sweetest and kindest server I've ever met. We need more people like her 5/5 for everything- food, atmosphere and customer service! Such a cute brunch spot that's doing outdoor seating!! It was a really hot day but we loved that they had tents to sit under and had a large fan running. We brought our dog to sit with us and one of the ladies working brought us ice water for her, which was so nice. The staff here are all incredibly friendly and cheery, and we just loved the vibes. Now, the food is also fantastic. The Herb Fried Chicken puts any fried chicken joint to shame!! Like Popeyes who??? I was so impressed with how juicy the inside of the chicken was, even the breast was so tender and delicious. I also love brussels sprouts, so we got their Brussels Sprouts Salad and wow, probably one of the best salads I've ever had. I'm not the biggest fan of blue cheese but I truly did not mind it one bit because the brussels sprouts were just so good and fried to perfection. Overall, we could tell the food was so thoughtfully prepared. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often, but if I'm ever in town again, I'll definitely be back. read more

I love finding places like Marinade on Main - Small town. Small place. Quiet watering hole that serves up some simple, but delicious food. As part of my July 4th getaway to Julian, I stayed and dined in Ramona with friends. Little mishap with one person's dish, but for the most part, it was a good experience. Service - attentive and friendly even while busy as our party arrived just before the rush. We had reservations - if you have a large party, I would recommend calling ahead. Fresh ingredients, simple dishes - great recipe for a great dining experience. I ordered the Rib Eye - medium rare which came out more on the medium side but still tender and juicy. I prefer my vegetables a little more charred but they were fine otherwise and I would like to know how their mash potatoes are prepared because I enjoyed them so much, I saved it for last. My friend's mishap was handled right away and without debate. Ordered steak medium rare, but arrived medium well. Her meal was replaced with an apology, explanation and no extra charge. I appreciate it when businesses just want to make sure their customers have a great experience. Just this alone makes me a fan. This place may not be for everyone however, it was and is for me. If you're in Ramona this is the restaurant to go to! The food was amazing but also reasonably priced. They have options for people with different diets which is a huge plus. My group had multiple vegetarians and we were easily able to find meals that were delicious. They had some amazing drinks as well including a grapefruit lavender iced tea. Service was also great! Right after we ordered our food, 4 or 5 other tables were seated and our waitress Tiffany was busting her butt running around helping people but made sure we were always taken care of. Marinade on Main gets a Yelp, thanks, WOW! Especially, for their homemade biscuit with handmade marmalade. My meal consisted of a Tequila Sunrise (still can't get the Eagles out of my head) and the chicken, egg and biscuit brunch selection. The chicken was perfectly cooked to my liking. An all white meat breast, extra crispy, and not greasy. It came with a side of eggs, cooked your style. We sat in a cozy corner booth with pillows, country music played In the background and the service was impeccable. I might add, one of our favorite performers Kacey Musgraves was playing in the background. Anyone will get an extra star for this alone. This place has my most favorite dish ever- their Fried chicken Alfredo!!! This is my husband and I's second time here and the fried chicken Alfredo didn't disappoint the second time. Excellent, farm fresh foods with excellent, unique flavors that change with the season! Had a very large party, and the restaurant is pretty small, but they made it work. Parking is pretty limited and tight, but there is street parking available if need be! Our service was excellent. We absolutely loved the outdoor area as well. Even on a chilly night, they keep it comfortable with heaters. Beautiful decor, rustic, elegant theme! I've heard they even have brunch on the weekend days. We happened to be in Ramona for the blood drive a week back and decided to grab lunch at MOM. They have reduced seating due to corona, but they do have dine-in. The staff wears masks and gloves. Everyone is super friendly and helpful explaining the menu and any specials. We had the Honey Mustard Chicken Sandwich and Signature Burger. Both were delicious and served nice and hot. It took awhile to get our food, but for a good cause - they were prepping 40 meals for pre-schoolers. For our delay they gave us a complimentary Strawberry Shortcake....Mmmmm good! I would definitely recommend MOM whether you're in the area, or looking to take a nice ride up the country road to get there. Enjoy! read more

We came across this cute restaurant when we drove to Julian, we decided to stop by to have a nice and full energy lunch. We were so happy because we made a wonderful decision. We ordered a 18oz huge rib eye steak to share and it was very enough for two of us. It was amazing delicious, my husband is the one who proofed this, himself is a good steak cooked. Marinade is the only place here in Ramona that I will take friends/visitors to, who are coming from "out of town". It is consistently good, the ingredients are high quality, and the staff is helpful and pleasant. The fried brussels sprouts and shrimp and grits are two of my favorites, as is pretty much everything on their breakfast/brunch menu. My son loves the burgers and fries, which is saying something because he is a picky little dude. Now and then, the food is missing a touch of salt or attention to detail, which is why it's only four stars. But it's a solid establishment and we are so happy it's here. read more

After we had dinner here on a Sunday night, I immediately want to come back on Monday for lunch but sadly they are closed on Monday. I was eyeing on the brussel sprouts when i was checking photos on yelp and determined to eat that for dinner. Our waitress/waiter are all superb with amazing smiles. I ordered Brussel Sprouts salad and added salmon. The portion is quite big but consider there's almost no carb... After having the very first bite of the salmon, I was in heaven. It's such a high qulaity wild caught salmon and cooked perfectly w lovely pink center. I comfirmed w the waitress later that they did use wild caught salmon. Brussels sprouts is also roasted to perfection. I am feeling like with 150% satisfaction with my meal and it doesn't happen for a very very long time. My friend had Shrimp n grit, I don't think I ever had grit, tried some of it, shrimp was also in really good quality and grit tastes light. We also got dessert, they only have 2 options, chocolate cake or some pudding, the cake is very dense and semi sweet, just I don't think i can handle that much sweet, it's huge! I will skip dessert next time. I can't think of any place in OC can compete with their quality and price. I am surely planing my next trip to Ramona soon. So I don't know why this place is called "Marinade on Main" but their specialty is fried chicken and it lived up to to hype! I love pasta and the alfredo with fried chicken was my dream meal on a plate. My husband got the herb crusted chicken and was also very impressed with the fried chicken - he said it might be the best fried chicken he's ever had. We are visiting from out of town but will be recommending this restaurant to anyone who passes through. read more
