Love the pizza here! It was delicious! Some of my favorite pizza in the Richmond area.

This little placed in tucked on the side of a strip mall around the corner from Food Lion. There is parking out front. We stopped in on a Tuesday evening and the place was fairly empty but after being there for dinner- it appears they do a lot of take out business. The girl working that evening was very nice and the service was quite good. We ordered a greek salad, a small pizza and a chicken parm sandwich. The salad came out fast and it was good and crisp. The chicken parm and pizza were ok. The pizza was excellent the next day after cooking it a little in a toaster oven. We will probably try it again, especially if we are wanting a big crisp salad. read more

Mario's pizza is one of the best in the area. I love that you can order just a slice as it's perfect for lunch when it's just one person. Don't get me wrong their entrees are good too but that pizza is on point! We are always greeted with a smile when picking up food and when eating in, staff is very nice and accommodating. The dining room is cozy and it's typically quiet when we've been there. read more

A cozy, family friendly restaurant with great food! We ate in the restaurant and our food came out quickly and was served with complementary bread. They have a vast menu (even for the kid's menu!) and you are bound to find something tasty! We ordered Baked Stuffed Shells and a Cheese Steak. The shells were plated beautifully, as seen in the photos, and had an absolutely beautiful color! The cheese steak sandwich as served on golden brown bread with a perfect crunch. They packed on the perfect amount of meat and cheese! This is a great restaurant to stop by when driving through the area and I'm happy we decided to dine here! read more

This is only the 2nd review I've written. This review is on service only because I never had a chance to taste the food. I placed an order for pick up of a pizza. When I went in there were 2 females working the front. They helped two customers that came in behind me and never addressed me at all. Finally a woman that came in after me spoke up and told them to help me out or she was canceling her order. One of the servers asked me what I was there for, walked away briefly as though she was checking on my order. She returned to the counter and again said nothing to me and addressed the person behind me to assist them. At that point I decided to leave (without my food). I am not sure why they were so rude and disrespectful, but I can say that I will never spend money at this establishment. I was wearing a hat that supported the LGBTQ community and that is the only reason I can see for their rude behavior. The fact that the lady behind me noticed the treatment and spoke out is a testament to how obvious they were being. I have many friends and family in this area who frequent this establishment. I will definitely be sharing this experience with them. read more

Awesome Pizzas- My favorite food here is their Steak and Cheese sub- Always my go to :):)

I met a business partner here for lunch around 11:30. We were greeted and seated immediately. I ordered a turkey sandwich with french fries. My sandwich was fresh and fries were crispy and hot. Our server was wonderful and kept our glasses full. The only item I would bring up was that I could've used more turkey on the sandwich. read more

I went in for lunch as a first time customer. I ordered a pepper steak and cheese sub, onion rings, and a 20oz. The total was $23.97. Which I was kind of shocked about. I can get a steak dinner for that. The food was decent, but no worth $23.97. The online menu prices are out of date compared to what I was charged. read more

Very expensive. We ordered for take out tonight a large 1/2 veggie 1/2 pepperoni pizza ($19.99), a chef salad, & a baked spaghetti and our order totaled $47 for take out....pizza & salad were decent...I could have gone without the spaghetti (it was bland and didn't have much flavor). read more

My dad introduced our family to this place yesterday and it's pretty darn good! Everyone got different options - even the vegan was able to get a cheeseless pizza that was tasty. We were all satisfied - pizza, Alfredo pasta, cheesesteak, sides of fries, BLT & calzone. Alfredo was rich and creamy - best I've had in a while! Staff was friendly & welcoming, could stand to be a little faster, regardless will be going back. read more

Ate here tonight for the first time. We got there around 6:30 and got our choice of table or booth. It got busier while we were there and was pretty busy by the time we left. I had the baked ziti with meat sauce which came with a salad and bread for $9.95. That's a good deal. There was enough ziti for 3 meals for me. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce and had a nice tomato in it. That was it besides a cup of dressing. No cukes, no croutons. . . Standard for a side salad. The bread had a really good flavor. It was light and warm. The baked ziti was better than average flavor wise. My husband got a small meat lovers pizza. It smelled and looked really good to me. He enjoyed it. Lots of toppings. Parking might be not so close if you go when they are busy. We got a sweet spot right out front. read more

While traveling back home from vacation we were looking for some comfort food, a search on the smart phone produced Mario's with a 4.5 star rating my wife guided the rental to a mini mall plaza setting with neons signs galore letting us know we were at Mario's. Saturday night and only one other people were a couple in the main dining room, this should have tipped us off. The phones were not ringing off the hook for pizza or to make reservations. Wait staff was helpful but not overly enthusiastic, drink order was taken we all asked for water with lemon, two out of the 5 waters return with lemon wedges. Menu looked like standard Italian fare. Appetizers of calamari and garlic bread with cheese, produce large band calamari body only no tentacles, not the best or the worst flavor. The garlic bread was too cheesy and just ok. My wife ordered the chicken parm, daughter spaghetti and meatballs, I got the tour of Italy (spaghetti, meat lasagna, chicken parm, manicotti), our friend ordered spaghetti w/ sauce and chicken fingers. Server was attentive since we ended up being the only customers, waters were filled and food was served in a timely manner. Ambiance was cartoon Italian, as the rendition of the painting of the Mona Lisa with her eating pepperoni pizza set the scene. Perhaps I should have gone with her choice of pizza. The main dining area was open to an entry into I believe a serving area were a coffee station and cleaning supplies and a disorganized table were located, and a very sharp yellow vacuum was waiting eager to be used. The tour of Italy was over sauced and over cheesed, probably to cover up the most inedible chicken parm I have ever had the displeasure of eating, it was clearly old chicken that had been repurposed, I bit into a rubbery chewy mess! This unfortunately turned my stomach and I took bites of the lasagna that was not identifiable but lacked meat, the manicotti was ok, the spaghetti waterlogged. My wife shared her parm which was 10x better and actually was edible. My daughter ate the pasta and her friend ate the chicken fingers no complaints. The pasta was ok. My chewed and spat out chicken parm and the rest of it was discarded on the garlic bread tray, my plate was picked at but mostly intact, the waitress return to ask how everything was, I never complain about food, but my wife took up the courage to speak for me and say, "my husband's chicken wasn't good" the waitress offered me something else but I no longer had an appetite ... I was charged 17.95 for a tour of Italy that has scarred me. The meal continued to remain with me as I burped and dealt with calming my soured stomach. If Mario was in the kitchen that night he might have been better off staying at home and hanging the closed for vacation sign. read more

Quick service and hot food! The stuffed shells were to die for and the owners are very polite and eager to help.

We ususally get take out from this Italian Restaurant. The pizza is alway fresh and very tasty. There are 3 other pizza places close to Mario's and we have tried them all. Mario's is our favorite. Three or four times a year we do eat in the restaurant and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. We find that we get great value for our money at Mario's Pizza. This is not an upscale restaurant rather a family casual restaurant. We have lived in this area since 1999 and Mario's remains our favorite Pizza Restaurant in the area. For upscale Dining we eat Downtown or in the Fan. For quick tasty food we love Mario's. read more

We have tried this place three or four times, and a friend of our daughter worked there... but it is just not for us. Baked ziti was OK, spaghetti OK, chicken parm OK... but mostly just middle-of-the-road bland. We like a nice zesty, chunky salad and theirs is just packaged iceberg chunks with packaged carrot slivers and a cherry tomato. Seems like prepackaged, cooked-from-frozen fare in a tired location. read more

We are from Chicago and since moving to the Richmond, VA area 10 years ago, we are still looking for good pizza. We still have not found it. The pizza we ordered had no flavor. There was a lot of cheese and other ingredients, but the sauce was very plain. Also, why is it that every pizza joint in the Richmond area slices their Italian Sausage. It should be crumbled and have the right amount of Italian Seasoning mixed in and then dropped onto the pizza, covered in some cheese and then baked to perfection. Pepperoni is sliced - not the Italian Sausage. I gave it two starts because of the amount of ingredients and the pizza was ready for pick up on time. Anyway, we will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

It was awesome food . And there lunch specials are bi and filing and very quick service .

I had cheese pizza and a small salad. The pizza was very bland. The crust was light and airy. The salad was average with iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few olives, a slice of salami, a slice of provolone, a slice of onion and cucumber slices. The service was terrible. After 30 minutes we had to flag someone down for a menu. Our drinks were never refilled. My pizza finally arrived after others at my table had completely finished eating. I asked for a box and took it home since we were leaving. read more
