Delicious pizza and great service! Old school vibe so it was a fun experience. We ordered the spicy Hawaiian, DPG, and a make your own. On the pricier side $22 each but the portions are huge. Came here after a long ski day so we devoured most of it.

Visited this Monday evening, around 5:45ish., dining alone. Relatively quiet, Seated promptly, & waitress attentive immediately. Ordered a Pilsner, minestrone soup, & a personal carnivore pizza. Beer arrived, as well as the soup & pizza..., at precisely the same time?, Decent pie, but by the time I was halfway finished, the soup was room temperature at best. Decent quick meal & average service. Seemed at if the sooner I left, the better? May have had another beer and dessert..., if offered. Quick & simple, average at Best. Carry on!

Traveling through town we stopped for lunch at Mario's and so glad we did. The vibe of the restaurant is old school Italian deli. The service was great and the food is outstanding!

Next best thing since Gunnison Pizza Company closed down. 3 of us ate a large (16 inch) carnivore combo pizza, 2 draft beers, and iced teas for $52.48. I have been here many times before and sometimes it's really really good, and sometimes it's a little less. But it's usually the former not the latter. Servers are quick and capable. The corner booths are a little cramped, the other booths are a little better. Be aware, place is usually packed at noon and evening times.

They sent out a raw pizza after a 40 min delivery time. I have also had numerous issues with other delivery's as well including missing food and no answer to fix the problem.

Ok ... so the 30 minute wait was soooo worth it... we had a bunch of different items and it was all so delicious ... Meals came with soup or salad ( we enjoyed minestrone) and all their dressings are home made ... My calzone was HUGE! I should have shared !!! And so tasty!! This is definitely a little treasure , it's cozy and reminds me of the old fashioned pizzerias.. Sam was our server. She was awesome ... we wanted to split Checks but we weren't sitting together... but she had us all organized quickly, food came out perfectly AND our checks were perfect .. Marcos is great and when we are in Gunnison we will be sure to stop in again

Came across this place when trying to find a place to carb up for a 14er hike the next day. There were limited places to choose from in a small town so this was our best option. Ended up ordering a pizza called the honey pig. It had a good amount of pork bits and white cheese. The only complaint that I had about the pizza was that it was a tad bit cold. Restaurant also charges a fee if you pay by credit card. Ambiance of this place represents a nice cozy Italian diner.

Had a late lunch at Mario's today, they serve lunch until 4:00. The restaurant is old school with adorable booths all around the large room and tables in the middle. The staff were super friendly and attentive. Hubs and I both had lunch special - the food was delicious and definitely worth the price.

Girl at SafeWay said they have the best pizza in Gunnison. Ordered a meatball hoagie and large sausage togo. Food was okay. That's it.

So delicious and filling. The ambiance is fun too with booths and interesting artwork in the booth (that's also for sale). Had to try their pizza since their known for their pizza! The fancy pig sounded amazing and it was just that good too, a dense pizza. You could also get their specialty pizzas on personal pizza sizes, which my friends did, or they come in medium or large sizes. We got the large since we were starving and yet we still had left overs to bring home (perfect for next day breakfast). Our waitress Jada was super friendly and definitely made us feel welcomed too. A+ service.

I was visiting my friend in Gunnison and I said, "Where's a good place for pizza around here?" He said, "Marios is where I always go." You can dine-in, take out, or take and bake. We did take and bake and chose the veggie pizza. There's a choice of regular crust, thin crust, or wheat crust. We went for the wheat crust. As I said, we did take and bake so we walked in and picked it up. It's nice inside if you want to dine in. The staff is very friendly. In addition to pizza, they have pretty much anything else you'd find at an Italian restaurant, also, soup, salads, and burgers, too. The take and bake comes with easy-to-follow directions and it comes with the oven-proof tray for cooking. The toppings were generous and it cooked up just like the easy-to-follow directions said it would. I would not recommend the wheat crust. It's pretty tough. That's not Mario's fault, it's just how wheat crusts are. Go for regular or thin crust and you'll be good to go. Also, Mario's offers free delivery. I'm not sure of the delivery range though. When I told my sister who went to college at the then, Western State, she immediately lit up and had many fond memories of Mario's. Keep up the good work, Mario...and all your awesome staff as well!

Service was less than desirable. Forgetful, slow, maybe training, maybe lack of care. Food was just OK. We got the cheese curds which were over cooked, more than a good ratio were lacking cheese and was just breading. I had the prime rib and that was good, Rosemary crusted and fair serving size, Loaded baked potato and the house Mac'N'Cheese, all tasted good. The better half got the soup of the day, which was not the soup of the day (see comments about server), ended up with a potato soup that the server failed to mention had seafood. Non issue for us but we do have a child with seafood allergies SMH. 2 bites in and BAM; Salmon... The Chicken Fried steak lacked Flavor as did the gravy and the mashed potatoes. We had to ask for silverware and napkins multiple times, dessert was OK, Coffee showed up after we ate it... Carrot cake and a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream, both run of the mill and not special. Bottom line: tourist prices for just OK food and service.

We were a party of four in there for dinner, one gentleman got the fillet, I got the T-bone steak, the other two people shared a big salad, chucked fried steak, a baked spud and wine We had a very nice bottle of red wine at a fair price (the Malbec!) Everyone was very well pleased with the way the steaks were cooked, the presentation was nice, and the service was absolutely great by a gal named "Max" (which we figured was short for Maxine). Max absolutely loves her job, and it was obvious! She took great care of us! We were treated like long, lost friends, although it was my very first time in the restaurant. I strongly recommend checking this place out in Gunnison, the prices are quite fair for the type of food and the ambience.

SUMMARY: Mediocre food…read more Despite the great reputation, well adorned facility, stellar location, and impressive menu, everything I ordered proved consistently disappointing. Calling this food ordinary is, at best, an overstatement. At each turn, my efforts invoked in salvaging the (food) entries was met with failure. Starting with a simple Caesar salad, the lettuce tasted several days old. Drenched in ordinary tasting salad dressing, the romaine lettuce became soggy from the presence of excessive dressing. The dressing was too strong in taste, akin to store bought lower priced varieties, and from this, proved difficult to eat. The portion was generous, however. WARNING: Do not order the minestrone soup. To explain: The minestrone soup proved ultra disappointing. With the amount that I paid, $12, for a bowl, I was expecting it to be of meal-like quality. Instead, it was also challenging to consume, being so vinegary, possessing a handful of some tomato slices and little else. It arrived lukewarm. Instead of ample carrots, beans, celery, onion, etc., with typically a delicious broth, all that I could detect was slimy tomato slices in a pool of vinegar. The "chef" needs to study quality minestrone soup recipes and completely start over, especially if customers are charged $12 for such. I was so looking forward to a quality and hearty minestrone soup. I haven't tasted anything so pathetic yet simultaneously overpriced, in years. Have they tasted this? It pains me to speak so passionately about something like this. But it was a disaster. The house bread? It was crunchy, also seeming to be dated, not stale, just not fresh. It wasn't warm. It was dry. The garlic butter was fine, but following the theme, ordinary, at best. I tried everything to make at least the bread come alive, heaping massive piles of garlic butter on it. Nothing could rescue the bread either. No olive oil was to be found anywhere on the table or tables in my vicinity. Very friendly staff was present, but their inexperience and lack of polish became annoying. Whatever virtue that the "soup" might have had was lost as it got even colder while she was talking ceaselessly to me. Yes, it arrived lukewarm before she was conversing. Friendly service, even if awfully informal, can't compensate for such a poor price - value relationship and mediocre food. I cannot recommend this restaurant. Perhaps they do a superior job on pasta dishes. Yet, upon perusing the menu, I couldn't find just a small or half portion of spaghetti. A jr. high aged boy near me somehow managed to order a small plate of spaghetti. While it looked ordinary, such would likely have proven sufficient tonight, even if such was likely only available on the children's menu. If this restaurant once served fresh and delicious food, something, at least of late, has woefully gone awry in the kitchen.
