I go to Mario's or have them deliver about once a month over the past 16 years so I'll base this review on my approximately 192 experiences with Mario's. Always a top notch 100% authentic New York thin crust pizza baked to perfection! Every single time! Now here's where they shine: if you put veggies on your pizza like onions, peppers, olives etc, it's hard not to get a soggy pizza. Not at Mario's, the crust is always crispy, never soggy and in the 200 times I've ordered their pizza, it's perfectly cooked. I probably should have written a review years ago, guess I took this place for granted but man they are a class act. I've eaten inside a few times and the service has always been friendly and prompt. The ambiance is quintessential local pizza joint--wonderful. My employer is about 3 miles away and we always go to Mario's for special lunch events or order for on-site visitors. It's just a well rounded perfect pizza joint and the price is super affordable. Love this place! read more

Swung by quick to grab a couple slices for take out and they were just as good as I remember! Used to frequent this place often when I lived in Owego. Their sheet pizza is top notch, and provides a different style than what you would find at Rossi's or Nirchi's. Next time I'm in town, I'll be dining in to order some wings! read more

I think this place might have the best NY style pizza in the entire 'Binghamton' area. 2 plain slices & small drink for $5.99 with tax. It's a bad sign when a pizza joint keeps their slice pies in the glass box warmer and then give it to you warm (instead of reheating it & giving it to you hot) but their 'warm' plain slice is still excellent! read more

My family and I are in the area camping, and we decided to visit Mario's Pizza. We have visited this area many times in the past, but we had never stopped at Mario's. I can safely say that we will be coming back. My father and sister ordered a medium chicken spiedie pizza, and some wings. I ordered garlic knots and a meatball sub. The garlic knots were perfect, just the right amount of garlic salt and other seasonings. My meatball sub was toasted just right and tasted delicious. According to my family, the wings were also great and the pizza was pretty good. As we were eating, we noticed that the place seemed to have a lot of regulars and was very crowded. This coupled with the good food, shows that Mario's is one of the best places to eat around here. We will be coming back again at least once or twice while we are camping here, and if I have any updates for this review I will post them. But for now Mario's gets four stars from me! read more

I don't think the chicken wings were cooked long enough. My mild wings tasted spicy and my mouth was on fire. On wing night you better eat all the wings there because you get charged full price to take them home. My husband and I love this place and have come here for years. They are a good solid family-based business that have helped our community over and over. They have a comfortable family style seating dining area with Italian festivity decor. Our servers tonight were very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly, it was fresh delicious and hot. My husband got the stuffed pepper soup which is his favorite, he loves the spaghetti and meatballs here. Me being gluten-free had the grilled chicken antipasto salad with peppercorn Parmesan dressing. Very nice mixture of vegetables cheese & meat. They have a gluten-free pizza here that is pretty good! My husband also loves their regular pizza, it's been a hit for years and they are consistent. They have great take out too which we usually get for a Sunday treat every week! read more

This is simply the best pizza that you will find anywhere. I grew up in Owego and live in San Francisco, and I come back 2-3 times/year to visit my family. Mario's is a must-have every time I visit. Good pizza, but menu (or service?) errors--- why would the deluxe pizza be described on the menu as having anchovies on it when they don't put it on unless you happen to be clairvoyant and know you have to specify that they should be included? Mario's, add a note to you menu. Nice of person at payment counter to offer a side of them to go, very disappointed that the waitress we first asked about it didn't offer that while we still had pizza on our plates. Subs are very dry, whole lot of bread, some filling.. Again, menu says includes oil. No oil on the sub we ordered. We go to Mario's quite often and usually we have good service. Well, tonight was not so good. We waited at our table for a good 10 to 15 minutes waiting for someone to bring us a menu. I also have dietary restrictions and usually I can get something with in those restrictions without costing an arm and a leg. I ordered the stuff shells which comes with the marinara sauce, salad, and bread. I Informed her that I could not have the salad, bread, and the marinara sauce. She asked if I wanted soup in place of the salad, after fingering out what soup I could have, accepted it. Then I asked her if I could have Alfredo sauce in place of the marinara sauce and she said I could. She brought me out about a cup of soup and my two stuffed shells (which weren't very big) in Alfredo. The soup was very good, but the stuffed shells not so good. When I got the bill I was shocked. They had charged me $5 for the Alfredo sauce! The cost of just what I ordered came to about $16.70. That's for a drink $2.75, soup & two stuffed shells $8.95 plus $5.00 for the Alfredo sauce. Our total bill came to $43.43. All my husband and son ordered were two small Stromboli's and drinks. The Stromboli's were $9.50 each ($19 total), plus their drinks $2.75 each ($5.50 total). So what they ordered totaled $24.50. We will not be going back and we don't recommend this place. read more

i haven't had much from these guys, just pizza and wings. i've stopped in a couple times before and just got a slice of their round pizza, which i thought had a pretty good flavor. a friend of mine from owego always raved about how great their sheet pizza is, so i tried it and i didn't care for it too much. i dunno what it was but something seemed off. the crust is crispier than nirchis but not as crisp as vestal bakery, it seemed a little too bready in relation to the sauce and cheese. i got wings too and the flavor was good, but they could have been more crisp. read more

The food used to be good. They need to stop using the microwave and start using a stove. Anyone who thinks this is good food needs to stop by Rossi's or Tony's. Their pizza is way over priced for what it is. Little Caesar's is better and it's only $5. I remember when their chicken wing pizza was actually made with real chicken wings not cubed veiny chicken breast. I'll never eat there again and I'll tell everyone I know about how bad that place is. Very good round veggie pizza but the crust can be hit or miss sometimes...not sure what they do inconsistently with it. The eggplant parm sub is very,very good but a bit pricey at $10.00.
