My kid referred to this place as retro. For me it was very nostalgic of my childhood. The interior probably is the same as it's been since the 70's or 80's. It's very clean and the wait staff was pleasant. The food was very good. I had wings which were hot the sauce was a little generic but the heat was perfect. My kid had the haddock and it was cooked perfectly. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because they have a terrible beer selection. Prices are reasonable and food was delivered in a reasonable timeframe for a diner this size. read more

Absolutely the worse service! Only 2 waitresses to cover tables, bar and cash out. Didn't get utensils until our salads were brought, then within minutes the main meal was brought. The whole order wasn't brought and when asked we were given the excuse "the kitchen is backed up", which wasn't true since the place was virtually empty. Didn't get the forgotten food items until our dinner was just about done. There was an issue with the ladies room, that continued to be neglected, even after 3 people told the establishment about it. I've never been a big fan of Metros, due to service being mediocre, however tonight was ridiculous. It will be a long time before I go back, if ever. read more

I have driven past this restaurant a million times and finally decided to stop here. The restaurant has been open since 1970 and has a nostalgic feel to it that won't be for everyone. The menu doesn't have a lot of choices and there are no trendy options-- fried foods predominate with home style dinner specials offered on Wednesdays and broiled seafood on Fridays and Saturdays. Dinners come with soup (a very tasty vegetable barley on the night we visited), salad and a side (!) as well as delicious bread. Pizza is also served but if you are not a fan of thin crusts, you probably won't like it. We both had haddock and very much enjoyed our meals and would not hesitate to return. Service was great and friendly and portions were hearty at very reasonable prices. It's not fine dining, but it doesn't pretend to be. read more

I am a celiac and cannot enjoy their Italian dishes, but they have hands-down the best scallops I've ever had anywhere. The Italian salad dressing is homemade and is extremely delicious. My husband and I dine there weekly or takeout, and I always get extra dressing to last the rest of the week because it's that good! A few times the service was slow but overall very friendly. They are sure to give you large portions. My only gripe is the baked potato extremely over done due to the fact that we come in usually around closing time. read more

ok, 3 stars may be generous...but, after having driven by this place too many times to count and hearing such great things about it, despite its seemingly abandoned parking lot, we stopped. It's in an unassuming building on 96 headed toward Candor, next to the pink elephant! Super clean, but dated atmosphere. I guess the pizza is the highlight. It's good enough. Far better than something like Dominos, but not memorable. Dinners include soup AND salad. Both of which were pretty good. I'm not a fan of their tomato sauce, which is seriously bland. I did not get around to sampling any desserts, but by the time we left, there were several tables filled in and I saw the desserts making their way to the tables. read more

The wings were perfect and the pizza was really good. Great service, too! The place is like stepping into the past and we enjoyed it.

We haven't eaten here in years but always remembered how good the food was there. We finally made it back and we weren't disappointed. We had salads, onion rings, wings, spaghetti, and pizza. It was all phenomenal! We will definitely be adding them back into our usual routine. read more

Unfortunately, the place has gone way down hill. The used to be famous pizza is all frozen ingredients similar to what you would find in the supermarket only drier. When I called and requested a take out order the next question was "Well, what do you want?" Whoever was on the phone seemed annoyed that I was ordering dinner. I ended up not going to pick it up. My money can be spent at an establishment that wants business and takes the time to acknowledge customers. I will not be going back. read more

Two hours (no exaggeration) between being seated and receiving our food. Order incomplete due to them running out of items we had ordered and they seated us, a party of 10, right by the bathrooms, which are pretty unpleasant. They didn't even offer us a bit off our bill or a round of drinks by way of apology. I wish I'd gone to McDonald's instead and it's not often I'll say that. I wouldn't go here again unless I hadn't eaten for a week, in which case another 2 hours wouldn't make much difference. read more

I went here tonite for dinner I asked for coffee with Irish Cream. They had no Irish Cream I ordered the sirloin steak sandwich listed on the menu. They no longer serve it. The waitress offered dessert, Lemon meringue pie was listed I ordered Lemon meringue pie. They were out of it I placed my debit card out to pay the bill They don't take cards I am not making any of this up!!! It is the honest truth! Guess who will NEVER go to this restaurant again? Food was decent, but they have a limited menu. They didn't have one chicken dish that wasn't chicken fingers. Most of the entrees are fried. Our meal took a while to come out. We were glad it came out nice and hot. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, which came with a ton of spaghetti and two meatballs. They had fried scallops, which I want to try next time. I'll have to try the pizza too since it was rated highly. They were pretty skimpy on the dinner rolls. There were two of us, and they only put two in the basket at a time. Was surprisingly busy, seemed to be patronized by an older crowd. I believe they are closed Monday and Tuesday so make sure you go another day! read more

This restaurant has been here since, it seems, the Civil War. Susan H. is right; 3 stars is too generous. Extremely dated atmosphere which hasn't changed in decades. But, I suppose if the restaurant is an old-favorite of some, that's a moot point. Their pizza, which they're supposedly "known for", is substandard in my opinion. Maybe it works for them, but slapping some tomato sauce, cheese, and CANNED mushrooms (ick) on top of a pizza crust does not a pizza make. read more

The best pizza in the southern tier! Great dinners too

This was the worst place we have ever come across! I am not a person to write negative comments and try to find the best in everything but this was a bad pick! We waited over an hour and a half for food that was heated and dumped from a can and the place wasn't busy at all!!! We finally told the waitress we were leaving in 10 more Minutes without our food if it wasn't ready and she could have cared less. We let them know how inappropriate the wait time was and they made no apologies or tried to remedy the situation. Will NEVER stop there again. I would give it a zero star if I could! read more

The few things that i have ordered there have been out of this world. The wings are the biggest and best in Owego area. Burgers are HUGE and amazing! place is a little outdated, but then again its been there for almost 70 years. Fairly cheap and big portions. We enjoy Metros more for the food than the atmosphere. Although I don't care for the pizza, they're dinners and desserts are always good. Pre order your dessert because a lot of times they sell out. Love their specials of chicken and biscuits and Mac & Cheese on Fridays. read more

Get the pizza as take out and you'll be happy. Cheese with green peppers won't disapoint. Eat in not so good. The non-pizza menu and decor are very dated. No windows in the place. read more
