Marios is a classic! I have been coming here my whole life! My favorite thing on the menu is the Chicken Parm! Gina is so nice and accommodating and always makes sure we have an amazing experience. They also have take out which is great if you don't want to dine inside. I also love the tiramisu but I forgot to take a picture. 10/10!! read more

Food was excellent and plentiful had the chicken parm and chicken Marsala. Atmosphere was dark and had the feeling that Don Vito was about to enter and take his favorite table in the corner! This is my first time here and it will be my last. Came with a group of 4, one ordered chicken Alfredo which had no cream in it or flavor at all. The Alfredo sauce was pure milk and it was liquid. I ordered veal Parmesan which came out thick I guess they forgot to pound it down. Do not get the gnocchi's unless you want to eat sinkers. Mario's reminds you of a trip back to the late 70's or early 80's. The decor and design of the building is almost like being in a well kept time capsule. The garlic bread is amazing! The salad was well done if not a little small. I had the chicken parmigiana and my wife had the manicotti. I liked mine but didn't love it, I'd try something else next time we go. My wife enjoyed her manicotti and would order it again. The service was very good and overall I would return. read more

First of all I am writing this to be honest and help others and possibly the restaurant make good choices. Not trying to be mean. Do not go here if you seek authentic Italian food! when we first sat down we ordered some wine. Which was house wine and $6 a glass. So it was like sweet water. However for 6 I wasn't expecting anything amazing. We were told this was an authentic Italian resturant. So I asked the server of they had Arrabbiata sauce. He had no idea what I was talking about and said we can spice up the sauce for you with pepper if you like! Both my husband and I ordered the gnocchi with red meat sauce. I had a side salad to start. It was all the center stalk part of the lettuce, very little leaf part and very dissapointing. The pasta was over cooked and mushy. I wouldnt be suprise if it was store bought. It had no flavor and the sauce was bland and similar to ragu. Service was average and the prices were low. However I would have paid more for a better meal. Our friends did seem to like there food however, we will not be back. read more

They just lost a customer. I moved to FL in 2010 and was introduced to Mario's by a friend who said if you don't mind the old decor the food was good. The service was always great and i would always get the lasagna as it is good and a healthy portion. We ordered for xmas an order of lasagna to go that the website said it feeds 4 people for $55. We arrived to pick it up and were told $65. I asked why and was told "oh our prices went up and the website is not updated. OK well maybe they could mention that since you are ordering ON THE PHONE! When we opened the order at home the portions were the SMALL order size. Then to top it off whenever we dined inside we always got a loaf of bread and a loaf of garlic bread. An Ormond Beach staple with a New York feel. This place is magic. From the staff, the service, the atmosphere and of course the food. Each classic dish is carefully made and served with a smile. I like to go there to see my neighbors old and new and catch whatever might be on the lounge tv while I enjoy a huge pour of cab. I found Mario's a couple years ago when I was visiting in Florida. I had an amazing Veal Parm dinner. I was also so impressed with the "magic" door opener in the ladies room. I've never been to another restaurant with this feature. I recently moved to Florida and my husband and I were driving in Ormond Beach and I though this was the restaurant I had previously enjoyed. Indeed it was. Another great Italian dinner! I like that they offer smaller portions of some choices. I had a perfect sized Lasagna with a meatball. A big shout out to Mario's for some excellent Italian food and the friendliest service we have encountered recently. This was our first visit. Don't let the unassuming facade of the building fool you, this is a cozy restaurant with a lovely ambiance. Our server Mara was amazingly friendly and helpful and we can recommend the early bird menu which is in place from 4-6 pm. Portions were more than enough with a bit to bring home because the garlic bread was perfect plus we had to leave room for the tiramisu which was tasty and light as a feather. Martini's at the friendly bar, followed by dinner and a bottle of wine in the main dining room. This is far and away the best Italian food in the area. The atmosphere though a little dated, is actually perfect and even refreshing for a family get together or romantic evening. I had Veal Parmesan and my wife had the Eggplant Parm. Our server, Jen P., was very attentive and friendly but not overbearing. The entire staff seemed that they have been working together for a long time and having fun. I tried this place once before for pizza, which wasn't very good, but I figured I'd give it a shot for dinner. When we got in there the place was dark and not well lit, plus it had a little bit of a smell to it. We put that aside and proceeded to order cocktails, the wine is about 6 to $7 a glass, the wait staff was very very nice. We heard they had an early bird menu which you would think would be a value, but was anywhere from $16 to $20, which is a bit pricey for this area. I ordered shells and my wife had lasagna. The food itself wasnt too bad but the portions were the size of appetizers. Mine had 2 shells and one meatball the size of a golf ball. I'm 100% Italian and my mom would make homemade shells and stuff them herself, so I'm a bit of a critic. Sauce is a bit acidic, but I've had worse. Wait staff is a 5, food a 3, prices and portions a 2 star. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. read more

I'm not really an Italian food lover but the parking lot at this place is packed. I'm am working across the street for about a month. Since I have had just a few delicious Italian meals I thought I would get out of my box. I entered open minded and hope full. After paying $46.00 for myself no drinks included I can report. The artichoke appetizer special wasn't special. It was baked greasy bread crumbs. I left most of it filed under not worth the money or the effort. They garlic bread was also sopped with oil or something. The do make an out of this world ranch dressing. My waiter (who couldn't keep his hands off of me) said they use buttermilk. It's superb (the dressing - not the pawing) Alas their lasgana was medicore at best. I liked the meatball but not the sausage. It was bland about as I imagine a high end frozen dinner would taste. Too bad I really do love a good lasgana. Mr touchy feely told me they are ranked best Italian in the country year after year. Makes me wonder just how bad the other Italian places are. Yikes... Had dinner with a large group, who ordered a variety of entrees. I had the eggplant parmigiana with angel hair- the early dinner size. The portion size was just right, and the eggplant was excellent. The pasta was a bit overcooked for my liking (I prefer al dente), and the marinara sauce was just okay. My husband's chicken parmigiana was good. My son all but licked his plate of shrimp scampi clean, and my daughter and other son enjoyed their baked ziti and spaghetti. All who had the meatballs said they were good. For dessert, I ordered a cannoli, which was strangely adorned with sweetened whipped cream and green and red sugar sprinkles (a salute to the Italian flag, I guess). The other person in our party who ordered a cannoli said it was too sweet. I thought the cannoli itself was good, but wished they had left off the garnish. My parents enjoyed their espresso, and I had a nice cup of coffee. I would be remiss in not mentioning the service, which was beyond impeccable. read more

I usually order the catering sized meals to go for my small parties. There is always a ton of leftovers. The baked ziti is always a huge success. I also will order a pint of the sauce and a few pieces of meatballs or sausage with bread. It all freezes well and you can make your own spaghetti or sandwich anytime!
