Felt at home whining dining in Mario's Table. As we were seated, Mario himself welcomed us! I appreciated our server. She was very honest with serving size recommendations and gave us time to settle in and browse the menu. I enjoyed the bread service and the rigatoni. A bit overpriced for quality but nevertheless a fun time.

Mario's Table is the classic neighborhood bistro. I love everything about this cute spot. It's cozy and inviting. It has a great bar area, many types of seating and has big windows facing out onto the neighborhood. Classic Italian dishes are always delicious. They offer special as well. Service is fantastic! The staff remembers you and Mario is always there.

I have to keep the reviews coming every couple of years to reaffirm that this is still one of my favorite Italian places in the country. I love the atmosphere, the food, and the overall vibe. They continue to have outdoor seating as long as possible during the appropriate seasons, but sitting inside is a delight as you have a chance to get to know your fellow patrons. I almost always get a veal dish here and their veal is as tender and as delicious as any I have ever had. The staff is always very friendly, helpful, and seem to enjoy working there. Mario himself as often roaming the restaurant making sure everything is going well.

One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to Mario's Table is that I already know exactly how my night is going to go in the best way possible. I walk in, head to the bar instead of waiting for a table, and settle in knowing I'm about to have a great meal and an even better experience. The bartenders always set the tone, making the space feel relaxed and welcoming, whether you're there alone or with someone. It's the kind of place where time slips by without you even noticing. And then there's the food. I don't even hesitate when it comes time to order. I always go with the farfalle with prosciutto, peas, mushrooms, and chopped tomatoes in a light cream sauce, and it delivers every single time. It's simple, comforting, and full of flavor without being heavy or overdone. The balance is perfect, and it's one of those dishes that reminds you that great food doesn't need to be complicated to be memorable. I've tried other things over the years, but this dish is the reason I keep coming back. Mario's Table is one of those rare spots where the atmosphere, the service, and the food all work together effortlessly. Whether I'm stopping in by myself, meeting someone new, or turning it into a casual date night, it always feels like the right choice. It's dependable in the best way, and that's what makes it a true favorite.

I love an old school, Italian spot with reliable food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. This place has been around forever and I finally tried it on a Friday night. It was crowded, but service was quick and the food was good. We split the Mario salad and the Rigatoni Roma. I love that they still give free bread service and that everyone seems like they know each other. Mario introduced himself to us and you can tell that it's such a family place. I would definitely come back!

So delicious and authentic! We loved everything, the calamari, chicken piccata, chicken Parmesan, the wine, the gelato! So good; and Courtney is the best server!

We bopped in and little to our surprise, it was the best decision we made all day. I got the shawarma bowl with gryo and the garlic sauce fries and wow, everything was to die for. I wish I wasn't just visiting Chicago so this place was more accessible to me everyday. But I fear i'd go broke if this was in my city. This is a great quick lunch option especially if visiting the zoo/park/beach area. Everything felt light, fresh, and healthy. It felt a little pricey for me but it's Chicago so it may be normal so take that as you will but for how delicious and the amazing ingredients it's worth it. Especially that dang pink sauce on the fries....you've got to get the garlic sauce fries if you check this place out. Some of the most beautiful and tasty fries i've ever had! The atmosphere is cute and bright too. A happy place to eat lunch and hang out in! I'm not from Chicago so i'm already missing this place! Add to your "must try" list for sure!

Dresscode: Smart Casual / Casual Noise Level: Medium (it gets buzzy after 5:30pm) Thursday night Happy Hour was lively, so it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to come around, but service was attentive once we got going. The food is where Ēma really shines. From the Happy Hour menu, the Charred Eggplant Hummus and Crispy Potatoes were generously portioned and great for sharing. On the main menu, the Indian-Mediterranean fusion Bhel Hummus was a party for my taste buds, while the Hot Honey Halloumi and Chicken Kefta rounded out the table nicely. The halloumi is more of a side than a main, but that sweet-and-salty hot honey combo was chef's kiss. For our finisher, the Chocolate Torte knocked us out. Decadent, delicious and chocolate with lots of depth. Overall, Ēma is an excellent spot to order a bunch of dishes for the table and get an elevated meal without feeling stuffy, and delicious without taking itself too seriously. DO's: - Make a reservation ahead, especially for happy hour 4-6pm - Treat apps like small plates, order 2-3 to sample - Entertain their wine list, they have a lot! - Bring vegetarians here, there are plenty of options DON'Ts: - Dismiss the desert menu. It's fantastic and shareable! - Forget to ask for extra pita with the hummus! - Miss out on the LettuceEats loyalty points (check-in with your server before paying your check)

Sat at the bar and the bartender wasn't in the best mood. They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!
