What a beautiful restaurant with outstanding service. We got a table right by the windows and luckily for the first part of dinner they had the windows open. Our service was also outstanding. Our waiter (I will report back with his name once I remember it) was the perfect mix between checking in and letting us enjoy our dinner. And the food. Yummmmmy. We've been to prime before and we feel Italian is better. My husband actually said the steak at Italian is better thank the steak at prime. I got the spicy rigatoni and halibut which were so fresh and delicious. And you can't beat the ambiance / decor. We are adding this to our list of must visit places during our quarterly Chicago visits.

Adalina was so yummy and the perfect spot to start a long, fun night in Chicago. While my friend and I originally tried to go for happy hour, we opted for a table in the dining room because of how busy it was. Drinking martinis and sharing pasta was so perfect and so delicious. We definitely dined quickly and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The staff were all so kind, from checking in at the host stand to the waiters at our table. I hope to go back here soon and try more from their extensive, delicious menu!

Amazing service. Phillip was phenomenal. Obviously a high price point here, but that's kind of the vibes you expect based on the fare. I had the lobster spaghetti. Very generous portion that I could not even finish. I would definitely recommend this place for a business dinner or special occasion.

Had such a fun night at Adalina celebrating my friend's birthday! The vibes here are definitely giving girls' night/date night energy super pretty atmosphere, upscale but still comfortable, and the staff was honestly so kind the entire night. They checked in on us often and made the experience feel really welcoming. The food overall was actually really good and tasted fresh. My friend got the chicken parm, we also shared the crab ravioli, and I ordered the spicy vodka pasta but switched it to marinara instead. Honestly, sometimes simple pasta hits the spot and this one was really satisfying. We also got the bread service which was SO cheesy and delicious. One of those things you keep reaching for without realizing it. There was also a prosciutto and ricotta appetizer at the table that looked really good, although I personally didn't eat it since I only eat halal. For anyone wondering about halal options: the lamb chops are halal, which I appreciated, but they're cooked on the same grill as the other meats so I ended up skipping them. I really wish they had more halal-friendly options here because the menu and steak selections looked amazing. Even having a separate chicken or steak option would make this place a 5/5 for me personally because I'd absolutely come back to try more. One thing to note is parking they do have valet, but it was pretty pricey. I believe up to 3 hours was around $48, which was a little painful lol. Even though we didn't order dessert, they surprised my friend with a birthday strawberry sorbet which was such a sweet touch. Little things like that really make a place memorable. Overall I'd give it a solid 4/5. Great service, beautiful atmosphere, and really tasty Italian food. I'd definitely come back again!

8/7/26: Overall i thought the good was good. Definitely feel like the food was not as fine as the dining vibe would like to give off but i enjoyed the experience. The wagyu was my favorite dish but I'm not sure i tasted too much citrus. A highlight for me was the tiramisu martini since the cream top was so good!

Adalina Italian, what can I say other than it's two blocks from my condo, I've walked by it 1,000 times and I've always wanted to try it! Well, Chicago Restaurant week, now, had given me the opportunity to climb those illustrious steps into what is a very beautiful restaurant. On this cold-snowy night, it was very busy here and the welcome at the front desk was warm and gracious; this was a good start. The menu look great but we had to ask for the Chicago Restaurant week Week menu as that's why we were here? I found that odd? Their fair for this week was basic Italian food and it was good: Two chicken parmigiana and two Blue Fin Tuna Tartare with dessert. Yes we enjoyed but in the end it was expensive. The service was excellent. The noise level was gentle, and the experience being here was pleasant. I would call this experience here as being Four Star enjoyable.

This place is so nice and perfect for a winger date night or spending time with the girls. It was around more than a half hour wait time but overall the service and food was great. Loved their bread service which was enough for three people and got their lam bolongnese which was really good filled with so much flavors. Got their mock tail and it tasted really good so refreshing. Really enjoyed how everything is decorated for the season. Will definitely be back for to try more of their pasta.

Love the ambiance here. Very cutesy, romantic, and grown. Expect dim lighting and lovely chandeliers. The hostess stand is at the top of the double landing staircase. There's a first come, first serve bar, lined with oversized booths and highboy tables. Everything was good - the stuffed bread and meatballs we enjoyed as appetizers, the rigatoni, mushroom pasta, and seafood pasta dishes, and even the entree salad. For dessert, we enjoyed cheesecake, tiramisu, and birthday ice cream. Great service and a great time.

This place is so cute. It was my first time here and didn't even realize it but they have a coat check in at the bottom. Walking up the stairs the ambiance upstairs was so nice. I would say the downside is we had our reservations at 8:15 but didn't get seated until 8:52, which I was wondering why have a reservations. There wasn't a waiting area but the food and service was what made up for it. It was absolutely amazing. We got their bread service enough for three or more people and I got their lamb bolognese which was filled with so much flavors. We also got their apply mocktails. Our waiter was absolutely amazing!! She kept checking up on us and made sure everything was good. For desserts we got their tiramisu and the rotating sorbet which was sos delicious.

    Amelia B.

We came here for a birthday celebration and the staff made us feel very celebrated. The food was spectacular - we had the burrata and bread service to start, which I highly recommend. I loved my entree, the Bolognese! The drink options were fun, and if you like martinis, they offer tableside service.

Went to Adalina HH on State Street yesterday 4:45. The bar was almost full. Was able to snag 2 seats at the end of the bar. First of all the restaurant/bar is just gorgeous! One of the most beautiful restaurants in the Gold Coast. Very romantic setting. I ordered a glass of white wine. Very crisp and refreshing. For food I ordered the Shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were huge and delicious. 3 very large shrimp for $9 The bartenders were very knowledgeable and personable. Will definitely go back. Happy hour 4-7pm

5/5 no notes! This was one of my most memorable meals. We got the Lobster Pasta + added the white truffles since they were seasonal and leaving the menu. The Yuzu steak was incredible. Each dish is shareable with 1-3 people in my opinion, the servings are generous. For dessert we could choose just 1 so we got 1 of everything! The tiramisu was my favorite. If you're going to order a bottle of wine, I highly recommend speaking to the sommelier, she's incredibly knowledgeable and made great recommendations for us on both of our bottles.

    Martini flight. Love this. 10/10

I bookmarked this restaurant after Food and Wine featured its best way to end a meal was with its chocolate bourbon Tiramisu. It has been a few years, but I finally found myself in Chicago and ready to go try this. Sadly, this item was NOT on their menu anymore. :( But, I still enjoyed a good meal. Would I recommend this as a must-go go...no. There were a few small pieces of the experience that could have been better, in my opinion, for the price point of their dishes. The good: --Happy Hour. They have a wide range of drinks and dishes to choose from for happy hour (9 dollar/item). The meatballs were my favorite, along with the bread service. I also tried their martini flight (original, dirty, and Parmigiana). Yes, that is correct. They have a parmigiana martini. It was alright, but I think it could have been better with a Parmesan fat wash on the alcohol or infusing the vermouth with the Parmesan. It was too light in Parm flavor for me. The original was the best in this flight. Missed the mark: --Food delivery. Twice during my meal, food came out of the kitchen, was placed hurriedly on my table, and then the person ran away. It scared me the first time, a bit jolting. --Octopus. I love octopus, and I wish this dish were just "more." It seemed lacking in accompaniments, and the octopus had a slight fishy flavor to it that I haven't experienced in other restaurants. I had higher expectations - especially compared to other photos of this dish. I couldn't taste the horseradish in the goat cheese. It seemed absent to me.

Are there seats at the bar?

Yes plenty of seats at the bar!

Is there a dress code for Sunday dinner? My out of town guest only packed a casual knee length dress and leather flat slides. Are we okay to dine?

I've eaten there twice and there has been a wide range of outfits from quite casual to dressy. She will be fine!

Is any of the meat you carry Halal?

Is there a dress code for brunch?

For dinners it’s Smart casual so no shorts, flip flops. I am assuming pretty similar.

Does anyone have a picture of the bar booths?

    It's on my adalina page.

Can I request a half order of the Mezze Rigatoni?

Hi Jeremy! Unfortunately, we do not do half orders, but we are always happy to wrap any leftovers for you in a to-go container.

But this place has the new gold standard for a meatball. It was everything you want. It is fork tender, full of flavor, no chewy ground up bits. The pizzas were authentic and thin. The reservation we got was for the patio, but when we arrived, they didn't have a table for us. We waited probably an extra 15 mins and then the lady was able to arrange an inside table for us. She had been getting a bit of lip from folks coming in just before us, and so she definitely seemed to be dishing out some lip herself. I think that should have been a better experience. I will acknowledge that we did appreciate a table inside eventually when the one just outside wasn't there. Our server once seated was like, amazing. To me she made up for the passive aggressive comments from before. She was so patient and well-spoken and all. Seemed like she was from a Michelin-star place. So to start, the Caesar salad was ok. What was nice in there, it had these crispy chips of some kind in the salad. Overall, the dressing could've been a bit more caesar-y. Then we also had these truffle oil mozzarella sticks and those were pretty amazing. Served with marinara sauce, which was pretty good. But the sticks themselves were like so cheesy and gooey and freshly made, it was great. Then for the mains, we had a vodka pasta and one other one. Both were vegetarian pasta options, which is great. Both had really nice flavored sauces and the pastas were also done right. I forgot to ask for crushed red pepper as some spice boost would've made things even better. Also, one of the pastas was a gluten free - and it was really good - in the sense that I never would've guessed that it was gf. It's a corn-based pasta, in case anyone wants to know. I really wish they had an eggplant parm, but unfortunately they had only chicken and veal parms, only. Lastly, and to top everything else off, we had a soft-serve almond-caramel (not the exact name) gelato. Wow, that was SO good. Nutty flavor and creamy rich. Probably the best course of the night. Just outstanding. I chose it based on ChatGPT recommendation and it was just spot ON. Definitely a place I'll come back to.

The fusilloni was definitely my favorite from the noodle shape to the sausage and cheese. The ricotta dumplings were suuuuuper cheesy which I really liked (though I could see why others wouldn't) and had a melt in your mouth softness. The fritto misto was ok, the breading tasted like it was old or had been sitting out. Not as crispy as we'd hope. To be honest felt like frozen calamari quality. The Alla Vita chopped was pretty standard, kinda reminded me of Olive Garden salad lol. The stars of the meal were the tagliatelle and cappelletti pasta. Both were super flavorful and pasta cooked well. The bone-in ribeye was a little on the sweeter side, definitely lacked a crust and salt. I'd pass on the steak IMO. Our biggest qualm was the timing of the dishes coming out. The pasta came out 30-35 minutes after the appetizer and salad which is fine, but the steak coming out 15 minutes after the pasta kinda ruined it. We'd love to eat the entrees (steak and pasta) together, and not finish our pasta first or let it go cold then eat steak alone.. ya know? We had ordered crispy potatoes but cancelled due to the wait. Ended the night with mango passion fruit sorbet with a prosecco float. Big mistake on the prosecco float haha it was so tarte and bitter, would def recommend trying the sorbet alone! Overall, glad we finally got to try this place. Focus more on the pastas and skip the steak. Very beautiful inside.
