Great food and great service. I ordered the mojarra and it was delicious tender inside and crispy outside, they never disappoint.

Holy crap were these mariscos good. I had never been here before, but went with a co-worker. As soon as I saw that the owners were from Sinaloa and Nayarit, I knew I was about to have some of the best mariscos available. Those two states in Mexico are known for their incredibly fresh and flavorful seafood. To add to my excitement, on the wall is a framed photo of one of the owners engaged in a warm embrace with none other than the late Anthony Bourdain, one of my idols. Rest in Peace, Chef. Other than the fresh from the sea mariscos, there star here is their salsa verde. Not for those who can't handle spice. Seriously, you need to eat here. BYOB

Wow! Wow! The food is amazing, the flavor, the generous servings, and the staff are friendly and appreciate the patronage. I am very picky, and this is now my go-to place for mariscos. Disclaimer: the food has a spicy kick but not overwhelming where it takes away from the flavors. Lastly, you can taste the freshness of the seafood. Give Mariscos Chente a try you will be pleasantly surprised.

Don't be fooled: This place looks like a hole-in-the-wall from the outside, and feels small on the inside, but the flavors are real, and they are delicious. I had the pleasure of taking my mom here for lunch, and I had the fried fish, and she had the ceviche. The fish was fresh, fried to perfection, flakey and moist. So good. Momma had the ceviche, and she said that it was some of the best that she's ever had, and she makes some amazing ceviche of her own too, so she knows. We had the good luck to be served by the owner's grand daughter, and she was helpful and attentive. Momma and I have resolved to put this restaurant into the permanent rotation of places to go for sure. I think I made her more than a little jealous with my pescado frito! Oh, and the salsa was simple, but different in just the right way, and went very well with my fish. Update: I had the opportunity to go back today, and everything was just as good. I had a chance to try the pulpo and it was very tender, and my mom loved it. The granddaughter of the founder of the restaurant came out and talked with us again. She was very nice and was kind enought to tell us about the family and the history of the restaurant. Super cool place, and I was happy to support a local family-owned landmark. We'll definitely be back.

Menudo is good... also had some bacon wrapped shrimp. They cook everything in same oil...so I hope you like fish too. I asked for pan tostado for my menudo. I will be back. Service was food too.

We normally order the sea snails in the coconut sauce, filet mignon noodles and also the combo with Dungeoness crab. All great! There is something about the sauce or flavor where I can't stop eating, even though I know I'm full and shouldn't be eating anymore, but I just can't help it. The seafood is always fresh. They give you salt, pepper and lots of lemons to make your own dipping sauce. This is great, because if you know, you know, this place is legit for us Viets. Parking is a bit tight, with only one spot in the back and limited street parking, so keep that in mind. They do have a small patio outside, though, which was really nice to sit on and enjoy the breeze. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the whole fried tilapia, but take my word for it--it's a MUST if you're in the mood for cooked fish. The outside is perfectly crispy while the inside stays flaky and tender. It comes with fresh cucumber and Spanish rice with corn, which is a great complement to the simplicity of the whole fried fish. But if there's one thing that sets them apart and is an absolute MUST TRY, it's the Aquachile. The balance of citrus and spice is perfect. The raw shrimp practically melts in your mouth as it soaks up all that delicious sauce. Seriously...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. We also tried the Mango Ceviche, which was good overall, but unfortunately the cucumbers were a little bitter, which threw off the flavor for me. The trash was overflowing, the toilet seat covers were smashed into the inserts, and there was paper all over the floor. Bathroom: 1/5. I sat down, and the menus were already on the table. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to order, so we started with a lemonade and a tea. We ordered the Clobster roll with fries, and I ordered the Connecticut Style lobster roll with no fries and a side salad. The side salad with ranch dressing definitely hit the spot! Unfortunately, the Cajun shrimp roll didn't do it for me. It needed more flavor and mostly tasted like mayo. After two bites, I decided not to eat it and gave it to my son. He enjoyed his meal, though! I also ordered another lobster roll to go, along with a soda and fries, for a friend of mine who works down the street at the barbershop. I was also gifted a juice and a huge cookie, which was a nice touch! If there's one thing I'd change, it would definitely be the bathroom. Other than that, I enjoyed the TVs, the overall look and feel of the place, the area, and especially the guitars and décor. Those details really gave the restaurant some character. Would I come back? Yes -- but I'd definitely try something different next time. Thank you, Rudy! Overall rating: 3.8/5
