Coni Seafood is such a great stop if you're heading home from the airport and need a quick bite. This location has always served us well! Parking is a bit tight, with only one spot in the back and limited street parking, so keep that in mind. They do have a small patio outside, though, which was really nice to sit on and enjoy the breeze. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the whole fried tilapia, but take my word for it--it's a MUST if you're in the mood for cooked fish. The outside is perfectly crispy while the inside stays flaky and tender. It comes with fresh cucumber and Spanish rice with corn, which is a great complement to the simplicity of the whole fried fish. But if there's one thing that sets them apart and is an absolute MUST TRY, it's the Aquachile. The balance of citrus and spice is perfect. The raw shrimp practically melts in your mouth as it soaks up all that delicious sauce. Seriously...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. We also tried the Mango Ceviche, which was good overall, but unfortunately the cucumbers were a little bitter, which threw off the flavor for me. Home on the couch after a satisfying meal. This place was Delish! The Ceviche de Pescado was a little spicy but once I picked out the jalapeño it was perfect. Even a little sweet (from jicama maybe?). So good. We had the Garlic Shrimp with rice and the Sea Bass. Hot damn. So tasty. The shrimp dish could have been a little bit hotter (temperature wise) but all and all it was good. I think one server handled the whole dining room and patio on his own with a busser or two. He was awesome! Great service and big Lemonades. No alcohol at this location, but they do sell beer and wine at the Inglewood location! We previously ate here and liked it. We decided to return, HOWEVER... I was so underwhelmed visiting on the first Friday eve in Aug, 26, the service was so off. No guest-log-in for first arrivals, WE WERE OVERLOOKED even after checking in. Cleary tables were set and avaialble but no offer to sit or seat ourselves. Once seated, we had to wait (long) for menus. The server was not experienced at all, very rushed no engaging guest assistance to upsell or provide options. In addition, my guest was agitated with the slow service, uhg. No visible, or, solid managerial presence. My dish, three fish tacos. The fish looked and tasted like salty crunchy pork skins, over fried, dried out and funky. The overall dinning experiance was terrible from start to finish, so sad. Best garlic butter shrimp ever! The head was kept on and the body of the shrimp is already peeled! The shrimps were so clean, when we take apart the head, there's not a lot of gunk. Rice was also tasty with the shrimp oil and the garlic butter. A bit too salty but still very delicious regardless. The fillet fish was very crispy and meaty too! For appetizer we got the nacho and the spicy dipping sauce. This is free for the first bowl. Overall, this place shocked me but in a good way! This is the worst food we have ever had and I mean ever. We really tried to think of a place that had worse food in all our years and this one wins. The outside of the place is fine, but don't ever walk in. We should have left when our shoes stuck to the cement floor. It had been mopped that day I am sure, but it has not been cleaned in a long time. It was just sticky. We got to our seats, which were fine but the table needed a good wipe. It never got one. The menu looks interesting. The server had no clue what he was talking about. He was either just making things up or guessing. He was nice enough and that is the best I can say about this place. Their chips were so stale that we could not eat them. The green salsa was fine. They have Marlin Pate on their menu. That is not what we wanted or ordered. There was one other marlin dish and it was marlin tacos. And guess what, it is pate. We were told it was imported from Baja Mexico and I don't believe that for a second. It is canned, we knew that, but not chunks as we were led to believe but the same junk they call pate. Their pate is from the cheapest part of the marlin that can not be used as fish fillet. They take all the junk and put it through a machine and there is your pate. We were so clear we did not want pate. We were ignored. It was awful, all of it. We took it home to the dogs as well as the rest of the food and the to go box had so much grease it was leaking. We also order "lightly" battered shrimp and onion rings. Safe right--wrong. It was not lightly battered but had heavy batter as if it had been re-deepfried. The onion rings were the thin pieces of onion, not even close to rings. Now I love those, but these were so bad that were not something anyone could eat. Filled with grease, I mean dripping grease and cooked in dirty oil (it has a taste when the oil is not changed), that they were just left. They don't even have ice tea. Indeed this is the worst food we have ever had in our lives, the place is not clean and there is not one good thing I can say, and I always find something nice to say. This is just sad. This Coni's in Culver City is terrible. You walk in and there is a person to seat you, serve you and cash you out. He wears black gloves and never takes them off. This is not even close to sanitary. He handles food, money, cleans the tables and just keeps the gloves on. The server knows little about the menu and by the way, the menus are greasy as are the tables and the floor. The bathroom is clean. We had lobster, shrimp and tacos. None of it was good. I mean it was not something we could or would want to eat. We trashed it all the minute we got home--we did not want to be rude so we had them pack what was left, which was most of it and tossed it. The prices are very high for what you get and the food is just a greasy mess. We had high hopes for this place. Oh, and I got sick and had to drive to work/pleasure the next day so that was fun. I love this place. This is located locally to me and is my new go-to mariscos spot. When moving to the west side, I was nervous about finding a bad ass mariscos spot. My worries were quickly addressed after the first time I tried Coni's. I have now tried both of their locations and the other location is just as good! The bestie had just graduated from UCLA and I needed to organize a spot for the friends who didn't really know each other could gather to celebrate. I had heard about the original spot and saw there was a new location closer by, so I made the executive decision to make a reservation. The party of 8 turned into a party of 4 (LA always has this issue with people unable to follow through at the last minute, am I right?) but they accommodated beautifully and were super understanding about waiting for the woman of honor to arrive. I ordered the 2lb. snook and one of the ceviche specials for the table and it was enough to feed us all and send us home with leftovers. I cannot express how fucking delicious that fish was. I think about it a lot. This spot is a bit farther from where I live to make it a regular spot, but I will be back one day. read more

I've passed by this place many times while visiting Angel Maid Bakery next door, and after seeing photos of the marlin tacos, fish tacos, and ceviche on Yelp, I had been wanting to try it for a while. My partner actually suggested we go one day, so we decided to finally give it a try. When we walked in it wasn't crowded at all, just a couple sitting inside, and we noticed some people out on the patio. I asked if we could sit outside, but the employee said it was dirty and would need to be cleaned, so we stayed inside. There were two young guys working/Serving. As more people started coming in, it seemed like they got a little backed up and rushed. One of them dropped off complimentary chips and a green salsa, but he never came back with our waters or to actually take our order. He kept walking past our table several times until we finally asked him if we could order. He recommended the marlin tacos, saying they were more flavorful than the regular fish tacos, so we ordered those along with aguachiles (one of my favorite dishes) and a shrimp dish cooked in a red sauce. The complimentary chips were freshly fried and good. The green salsa, however, was extremely spicy. I normally enjoy spicy food, but this one was a little too intense for me to really enjoy. I ordered a pico de gallo, which tasted fresh but needed a little salt. The food took a while to come out. The marlin tacos arrived first and honestly they were the highlight of the meal. The flavor was really good and I enjoyed those the most. Then the aguachiles came out, and that's where things kind of turned for me. The shrimp still had the full heads on them, which personally grosses me out. The second shrimp dish in the red sauce also came with the heads on and served on a hot plate with rice. I removed the heads and tried a few bites, the sauce was okay, but not for me to continue eating. Between the wait time and service I was over it. At that point I mostly just finished the tacos. One thing I did enjoy was the cucumber-lemon agua fresca, which was refreshing and really good. Service unfortunately never improved. No one came back to check on us during the meal. When we were ready for the bill we had to flag someone down, and even then we waited quite a while. Eventually I noticed another customer waiting too, so we both just walked up to the cashier and paid at the counter. Overall, the food was okay, but the service and wait time made the experience worse. If the service had been better, I might have been open to coming back to try the ceviche or shrimp tacos. Unfortunately, based on this visit, it's not a place I would return to. read more

The salsa here always more prepared and thicker than the others. If you want to eat fast and not wait while also enjoying the great mariscos I would come here. Happy i found a new Mariscos spot!! Came here with a friend who had been here prior and she did not disappoint!! We saw in the back patio area it was nice and fresh out so we that's where we sat. The waitress was sweet and recommended a few fan favorites. I just went with this plate of pure shelled shrimp that was both garlicky and spicy. Loved it! Second time here, new round of food, absolutely delicious. The house green salsa they have is no joke spicy! I love it and it is absolutely addicting. The Mazatlán Ceviche was on special with a fresh hit of lime and plenty of shrimp for a table. This one I expected to be a little hotter but we dumped the green sauce over it and that did the trick. The whole fillet Snooker was great. The sauce they use smells and tastes wonderful. We made tacos with a load off the 1 kilo of fish, sautéed onions (amazing), and a spoonful of the ceviche! Service was a bit slow for a 2pm lunch. We brought our puppy with us and had to wait 25 minutes for outdoor seating (only 3 family size bench tables) and it took up to us ordering our food for the table to be fully cleaned. There seemed to be only one server and a bus person who were very polite. We spoke with the owner, Tony, and he was charming, kind, and friendly through and through. We also loved the music and overall vibes. Omg where do I even begin! I've been going to Connie's Seafood for years -- back in the day (around 2006), I used to hit up the Inglewood spot on Yukon all the time. I've always been a fan of the coctel de camarón with cucumbers, tomatoes, onions -- that classic Connie's flavor. But wow... I just stopped by the Centinela location and ordered 2 shrimp cocktails. The total? $50. Okay fine, maybe the price is up these days. But when I picked up my order, I was shocked. I opened the clear container and all I saw was broth and veggies. Where's the shrimp?! For $50, I expected a hearty cocktail loaded with shrimp, not mostly cocktail juice. I even asked the young man at the counter, "What is this?" He told me it's the usual. What?! No way. This is NOT what I remember Connie's being about. Even another customer nearby said the same thing -- over the years, the portions just keep getting smaller and smaller. Connie, my girl, if you ever read this -- please put some love back into these meals. We're paying good money and coming back for the flavor and fullness we remember, not this watered-down version. We had been to an event at the other location and finally tried the one closer to home. The food is authentic in the style of Nayarit and other Pacific and Baja places. The Ceviche de Pescado was refreshing with finely diced cucumber, red onion, tomato, chile and fish. The portion is huge, but it is mostly vegetable, which may not be to everyone's liking. There were plenty of shrimps in the Camarones Checos and it came with a scoop of rice and a delicious lemony, garlicky tomato sauce. We ordered a side of tortillas to enjoy more of the sauce. The chips and salsa were very good (salsa is spicy, be warned). Even better than the excellent food, was the outstanding service. Everyone was so attentive, friendly and helpful. For years I've passed this restaurant promising myself I'd go in and see what it's about. For 10 years (the amount of time I've lived in LA) I've chosen other restaurants over Coni's, tonight that changed! This spot was absolutely amazing. This is a spot that deserves much more attention than it might be receiving. The staff were super friendly and attentive. They were patient and made suggestions on what we should try. I ordered the Pescado Zarandeado (grilled snook butterflied) w/ caramelized onions and tortillas. It takes about 30 minutes for this dish to be served (I was willing to wait because the waiter insisted that I try it). This is hands down THE BEST FISH I'VE HAD WHILE LIVING IN LA! It was tender and flakey (beware of bones). It was juicy and succulent. And the broth! The broth accompanies the fish like a seeing eye dog accompanies his master. It's rich and very flavorful. Lets not forget the caramelized onions, they were done to perfection. The fish comes in 3 sizes, I ordered the medium and it was a perfect size. Everything about this dish was great. From the amount of time it takes to get to you (you could walk in to a full house and have a 2 hour wait b/c everyone else has ordered the fish) to the presentation. In the event that you're unable to get the fish, try the Langostinos. Mini lobsters in a tomato based sauce that has the perfect amount of spice. My girlfriend called it a "complete meal in every way." That broth has to be made exclusively for that lobsters because it pairs so well with it. If you've never been to Coni's Seafood, you should treat yourself and don't spend 10 years like me looking for the perfect fish. read more

Came here on Saturday night. We chose this location over Inglewood because I could make a reservation on Yelp. We got there at 7 pm. The place was pretty empty, when I mentioned the reservation, the guy looked at me like I was crazy but we had our choice of tables. The lighting in the place is HARSH. LEDs are way too bright. There is a feint scent of cleaning products in the air. The servers were attentive. We tried to order beers and were told they no longer have a liquor license. What? At this point, we were a bit skeptical but it gets better. Then we ordered - Snook (takes 30 minutes), fish ceviche, langostinos, shrimp aguachiles, shrimp tacos. Dishes came out quickly. I have to say, all the food was amazing. Flavored just right. Super fresh. So, moral of the story, go here for the food and you will not be disappointed.
