Ate at this food truck for the furst time 06/19/2025. The shrimp empanadas were excellent. Had an order of shrimp taquitos that hit the spot. The big dish ordered was the shrimp fries, that was my favorite. When coming to the Valley and I need my fix for seafood, Mariscos El Bigoton is my spot.

Not the nicest part of the valley, and the parking was cramped in the lot and the streets. But taco trucks at a transmission shop, that is a heck yes for me. I ordered 3 camaron dorado and 1 pescado. Wished for spicier salsa, but everything was good.

Emapanada in a tortilla and fried. Mushy and not good.

I ordered two orders of the special-Thursday. 5 fish tacos. The pictures look better. And I also order 5 shrimp tacos for 11 bucks. Biggest disappointment. Y'all fry the empanadas and call them shrimp tacos. Fish tacos are soggy and small. Sauce isn't anything special either. Huge disappointment.

I went To the Mariscos el Bigoton location on Laurel Canyon and Paxton . It is located right in front of Ritchie Valens Park. Let me tell you that this place is always delicious. Super fresh seafood amazing specials. The staff is super kind. I have tried numerous menu items from the fish tacos to the shrimp tacos, tostadas ! I have been eating at Mariscos el Bigoton for about five years and have followed them every time they relocated. Definitely a must try for delicious seafood in the valley. You will not regret going to this place. They have really cool specials every Tuesday and Thursday on their fish and shrimp tacos. My stomach is growling as I think of them. A plus certainly. The pastelazo is a must Try !! love love love this location definitely five star worthy . Hats off to the chefs and staff they are always consistent, quality, seafood, and personable service.

I heard good things about this place, also some of my friends on Instagram would post to their story about this place. So I finally decided to go and try it out to see what all the hype was all about. My bf and I ordered 2 shrimp cocktails, 1 fish tostada and a 1 tostada el Erick. The cocktails were good, and the fish tostada was okay, but the tostada el Erick was disgusting. We tried eating as much as we could only because it was expensive but we ended up throwing it away along with the fish tostada as well. I can definitely say I will not be going there again. P.s. I don't know what that brown sauce was on my tostada but gross. I've had way better Mariscos.

Mariscos El Bigotón got variety. Mariscos this mariscos that, they got you covered! My hangry hypoglycemic brain decided to try their shrimp and crab empanadas. I saw an add on instagram 5 for 10 and they looked delicious! I was wrong, 4 for 10, super deep fried with some cheese mayonnaise sauce inside with 2 little shrimps and minimal faux crab. Yea they sucked but my fault. I should have went for a ceviche or fish taco. Maybe next time, MAYBE!

We lucked out and got the last booth before the dinner rush. The place looked exactly like it did last time we came. Staff was still friendly. They don't accept cash, only cards/tap to pay. Their menu looked different. Wish I had taken a photo. You have an option to build your own boil by choosing your protein, sauce, spice level and add in's. They still don't allow you to mix garlic butter and lemon pepper sauces. You're forced to get the Kickin mix which includes Cajun even if you're not a fan of that flavor. They also have a kids menu with 2 choices, appetizers and family combos. Always intimidating ordering from a menu that doesn't disclose the pricing up front. That's the weirdest thing. Even restaurants in Beverly Hills have pricing on their menus. We got the family feast which feeds up to 4 people and had a combo of crab, mussels, shrimp, sausage, rice, potato and corn which was about $107. (Side note, they charge 50 cents for a pair of gloves and they do not provide you with a little towelette to wipe before or after your meal) This I have to admit was a pretty good deal considering it's a good amount of seafood. They serve it to you in a large metal bowl. We asked for mild since we had toddlers, but because of the Cajun in the sauce (that they force you to get if you want garlic butter and lemon pepper flavor) it was more of a medium, and the kids could not tolerate the heat. Which wasn't a bad thing since that meant more for us grown ups. Ordered them a side of truffle fries which was not too bad actually. We also ordered some of their specialty drinks which come in huge cups. We tried asking for two small empty cups so the kids could share our drinks, but they refused to provide that to us. According to the waiter, it's the restaurant policy that they can only provide water cups, but we have to figure out what to do with the water inside. (Insert face palm emoji) Also they do not provide buckets for your shells so we weren't sure what to do with all that water but drink it. The cups are thin paper cups to pair perfectly with those gross paper straws. By the time we finished the water the cups were pretty mushy already. Needless to say we couldn't finish all our food so we asked for it to go, reluctantly as we hoped they weren't going to try and charge us for those to go bags as well. Pro's: they brought the food out quickly. The food tasted freshly cooked. Con's: don't know where to begin. Parking lot sucks since it's shared with multiple other businesses. There is no place for you to sit and wait outside the restaurant. You'll need to stand outside by the parking lot and pray you don't get side swiped by some crazy driver. Menu has hidden pricing. They charge 50 cents for gloves and do not provide wipes for after your meal. They don't provide a bucket/container to place your seafood shells so it gets mixed in with your other food on the table. Can't even ask for an empty cup for kids. They don't let you customize your sauces your way. Sad to say after all this time my review for this place is still a solid 2 stars.

Parking was easy to find, which was a plus. The ambiance was casual, relaxed, and family-friendly. They have multiple TVs throughout the restaurant, and during my visit, they were showing a soccer game. I always like it when a restaurant broadcasts sporting events, even if it means the place sometimes gets very packed. I was really looking forward to trying their shrimp ceviche, but to my disappointment, they had run out by the time I arrived. I decided to go with my backup option instead: the camarones a la diabla. Camarones a la diabla is a dish consisting of shrimp cooked in a spicy red chile sauce. This restaurant also serves it with rice, toast, and a side of vegetables. As the name suggests, the shrimp are supposed to be spicy. As a spice enthusiast, I'm always on the lookout for the best spicy dishes. The shrimp were cooked well, but they had a sweet taste. It almost seemed as if they had used ketchup in the sauce to tone down the heat. I'm honestly not a fan of mixing sweet with spicy, at least when it comes to protein. The vegetables that came with the dish were soggy and flavorless. The rice was okay but could have been better. The toast was pretty good, it was buttery, garlicky, and crispy. Overall, this dish wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best. The service during my visit was good. My server was attentive and helpful. He frequently stopped by to check if everything was okay. Overall, this experience didn't turn out exactly as I had expected, but it wasn't a bad experience by any means. I might return one day to try their shrimp ceviche. Despite it being a busy spot, we were seated right away, which is a huge plus when you have little ones in tow! The Drinks & Starters We started with the Horchata and the Pineapple Water (Agua de Piña). Both were refreshing, authentic, and clearly made with care. If you like traditional Mexican drinks, these are a must-try. The Food Everything we ordered was packed with flavor and felt incredibly fresh. A standout for us was the homemade corn tortillas--you can really taste the difference! Our table shared: * Mojarra & Pescado al Mojo de Ajo: Perfectly cooked and seasoned. * Lobster Plate: Succulent and generous. * Surf & Turf Tacos: These were a highlight! Loaded with carne asada and creamy guacamole, then topped with perfectly grilled shrimp. Each plate comes with rice, beans, and a side salad, but they are super flexible--we were able to substitute fries for the rice and beans on some plates, which is great for picky eaters or just a change of pace. Service & Atmosphere The restaurant is tucked away in a shopping center, so parking was easy to find, which takes the stress out of the arrival. Even though the dining room was buzzing and busy, our waitress was incredibly nice and the entire staff was well-attended to our needs.
