You can tell the restaurant could benefit from a little more organization, but the food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and overall I had a great experience. I came to try their Pescado Sarandeado Estilo Nayarit I saw from a video. The first was very fresh and well seasoned, very light yet filling. It was served with hot tortillas and they give some chips and salsa as a starter. I also had the Camarones el kora which were also very good. The sauce was very flavorful tastes great if you put it on the sarandeado. The service was great, the gentlemen that seated us suggested some popular dishes. We live in Pasadena and have no Marisco restaurants. Decided to drive 10 min here and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The shrimp ceviche was so good that we ordered a second order of it. My husband had pescado zarandeado and he really liked it. And let me tell you, he is very critical with food! We will be back for sure! Also, while we waited a lady walked in (perhaps homeless or in need) and asked if she could have a tostada to eat and the young lady made her one and wrapped it up! Overall weirdest ceviche I've had in my life. Such a disappointment and waste of $63. First off we had 3 tostadas: ceviche de pescado, mixta and camaron y pulpo. None of the ceviche was chopped or marinated. They just threw whole pieces everything on there. As for the taste it tasted like frozen seafood that had defrosted. The only flavoring was the tapatio, salt and lime provided to the table. My tostada de mixta looked like a birds nest of just jaiba. Came here for the first time, visiting from San Diego. Abundance of Mariscos. The shrimp tostada was delicious. Different kind of sushi rolls. The waitress Daniela was very helpful and nice. We were recommended to come here to try a fish dish that was supposed to be better than a place in Anaheim. Sorry but Anaheim is way better choice to eat this fish dish. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, and it was hot outside. Most places you go to have air conditioning, but this one did not. It had AC, but it must have been broken because they had a ceiling fan going, but needed more. So we are uncomfortable as I could imagine. Trying to find a seat was a little difficult because the booths are for small people. Enough of that, the service was sub par as the waiter seemed preoccupied with something else. He finally took the order, but the food came out incorrect. The fish we got was smaller than we thought it would be. The second dish we ordered was a garlic shrimp dish where the shrimp was really small and overcooked. The drinks my wife and mother got were bad. They order a mixed drink where the main ingredient could not be tasted and the glasses they came out in were covered in the drink like the person spilled them and didn't clean up just looked like a disaster. The fish was okay, you taste the Smokey flavor as it was cooked on grill, but it was just not tasty. It was lacking seasoning and touch. Just a bad dish and a bad visit all together. Oh and they couldn't even keep track of their own supply of drinks. I had to settle for a soda flavor that I didn't really want after being told they had it, and then be told they don't. Just bad. And the building it is in is big, the the restaurant seems small as there are low ceilings in a couple of places and makes it smaller, would expect they can only serve 25-50 max, but the building says they can serve more. read more

Mom was craving a pescado zarandeado like the ones she eats when she goes to Colima, Mexico. She's usually not big on trying new places but I showed her the photos on yelp and she was in. As soon as you open the door you can hear the banda playing on the speakers, they have a juke box where you can pay and play the songs of your choice. The place wasn't super crowded maybe 5 or 6 tables were full. The staff was very friendly and quick. My cóctel de camarón was fresh and delicious, one of the best I've had in a while. WOW! Very unassuming and not very welcoming from the outside but once the food arrives none of that matters. The ceviche is incredible and tastes so fresh and vibrant with a perfect spice level. The main event however is the Pescado Zarandeado, a grilled marinated fish dish that is insanely good. Scrape it off the bone put it into a provided tortilla, top with some salsa and you will have one of the best and most simple meals you can imagine. They have live music playing and the play is very small so it is very hard to have a conversation or even order your food while they are playing. This place is cash only, however their atm doesn't work yet they also don't take zelle ? They offered for us to go over to Wells Fargo. We ordered the pescado Zarandeado. They fish took 40 minutes to be served so I am glad I wasn't starving. It was served with just a salad on the side. The salad consisted of lettuce, 2 slices of tomatoes and 3 pieces of cucumber and cilantro. The micheladas are the BEST! Light and refreshing, and that extra salt and lime on the lid, is always nice to slurp after a sip! The pescado zarandeado so good and flavorful.
