This is the best Mexican food I've had in Fallbrook! It was so fresh and super flavorful. The grilled chicken had a beautiful grill flavor, the guacamole is ON POINT!!! I'm happy that we discovered this place since we are pretty new to the area! Service is a little slow but that's ok. Fallbrook seems to be a more slower paced town. Place seems a little outdated. Could use a little refreshing! Anyway, my husband and I ordered margaritas that were very good. They weren't the best but I would get again. We shared the fajitas that had chicken, shrimp, steak and prawns! This dish is enough for 4 people! Very yummy and cooked perfectly! Came with rice and beans and tortillas on the side. I don't remember the name of the mussels on the 1/2 shell were called but OH MAN!!! We will be back for this reason alone. They were smoked or something?! Not quite sure. They had such good flavor and came with some sort of dipping sauce. I wish I had more details about this dish but I did take a picture!!! I want these a thousand times over!!! Please go and try! Omg! This place is the place to eat! My husband and I went to have a romantic dinner on New Years Eve and the customer service was excellent. Our waiter is the best; ask for Roman - he's your guy! We were recommended to have fried avocados and chicken wings for the appetizers and I honestly didn't think much of it, but lemme tell you: the chicken wings were to die for - best wings in my life!! We also had the Diablo sauced shrimp and ribeye steak with butter, both served with delicious rice and beans. Oh my goodness- greatest food ever! It was seriously delicious and for this place to serve Mexican food, it was so authentic and the true to its roots. My husband is from Mexico and he definitely approved the food. I've had great food in D.F., Mexico and this place did just that. Even the margaritas were freshly made and ultra delicious, try the Cadillac! Tonight was my third time eating here. The two previous experiences were not the greatest but I always think it's important to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt. The food is ok at best. The ladies behind the counter are rude. Tonight I did a to go order for street tacos, Adobada with pineapple. I arrived 15 minutes after my order and was told that it would be right out. Once I paid and received my order two employees were arguing in Spanish if there was Pineapple on the tacos. After an uncomfortable back and forth, they asked to take my order back because they needed to add pineapple. More waiting. A few minutes later, I drove home about 3 blocks away to open a mess. The food was just thrown in the to go container and the meat and tortillas were cold. How can it be cold if they just made it? I drove back and returned the food. The guy was very apologetic and blamed the cook for "taking too long to add pineapple" and the fact that they were busy...they weren't. He did issue a refund (minus the tip) he also offered to replace the meal which was a kind gesture but I said no thank you. Fallbrook has several Mexican food restaurants, I suggest you try another place. read more

I grew up in Fallbrook, and this was one of two bona fide sit-down mexican restaurants in town (not counting the 1,294 Adibertos, Rubertos, Alibertos, etc.). We usually ate at "the other place" since it was closer to home, but occasionally we'd roll in here on a Monday night when our fave place was closed. Then we'd wonder why we didn't eat here more often. The food is really good, the portions are generous, and the service is friendly. The layout is a tad wonky, as you walk into an eating/waiting area, through the cashier/kitchen area and to the back dining room. One thing La Caseta has that "the other place" doesn't is a nice outdoor seating area, perfect for warm evenings. They have a rockin' mud pie dessert- after you indulge, the world just seems a little rosier. read more

This restaurant was awesome! They have really cool kid's menus for the little ones to color on which is a huge plus! I ordered the chicken tamale with rice & beans(huge portion) and my husband ordered chicken taquitos for an appetizer with no guac, cause he's not a fan. The meat was a little dry in the taquitos and could have used a sauce or something inside. Then he ordered the bean and cheese burrito which was huge with rice and beans. Then for the kids we ordered a quesadilla to split, they loved it and they are really picky eaters. Oh & the chips and salsa was good but the salsa needed something like more cilantro or could have been blended a little more, it was way too chunky. I also ordered the mango margarita and it was delicious! I would for sure go here again if not once a month :). When I entered the restaurant, I pondered and inquired to ask for seating, "For one?" I asked. They told me to choose a seat and so I went to choose a table to sit at. There were some other people there but not many. For taco Tuesday you get two tacos with rice and beans for $9.98. I was so vigorously hungry, I went for the Salsa Verde Burrito for the second time. My server was generous and gave me a second refill of chips which were warm and salsa to enjoy while waiting for my order. On a recent trip to Fallbrook for an art gallery show, my friends took me to La Caseta. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed a table on the patio in the shade. Our drink orders were promptly taken, and our server was very nice. My friends ordered shrimp and fish tacos in lettuce wraps. They were both pleased with their meals and had dined here many times. We split an order of the fried avocados, which were good, but bland and somewhat greasy. I've had these at other restaurants, and I think the La Caseta version could benefit from a seasoned flour dredge, a lighter crust using panko instead of tempura, and a more inventive sauce (ours came with ranch dressing). I ordered the light tostada which surprised me when it came because the corn tortilla was not crisp. It was essentially a corn tortilla topped with Mexican salad (beans, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado and dressing. The toppings were good, but the cilantro lime dressing didn't add much flavor. I've seen that some people refer to this food as "Americanized," and I would have to agree. I added the salsa from our chips to spice up my tostada, but I think the black beans could've used more seasoning. I realize I went the vegetarian route with my meal choice, but I didn't see anything very original or interesting on the menu. All in all, La Caseta is a nice little place. The service is good, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. You might want to bring along your favorite hot sauce though if you're looking for spice. read more

We went here after reading the reviews when we first moved to Fallbrook, He order the chicken enchiladas and I had a chicken chimichanga, the chicken in both was boiled, they didn't even added salt to the chicken and left a lot of the fat on. It was happy hr. So we ordered a margarita each, however we never tasted the alcohol. We paid for our meal but I only ate the tortilla on my chimichanga and my husband didnt eat at all. After trying this place we didn't want to eat Mexican food in Fallbrook for the following 3 months. If you want good Mexican food do yourself a favor, invest your money a better way and go to estrellas. read more

I have been here a number of times with my sister who lives in Fallbrook, I live in San Marcos. I have never had poor service and their food is very good. My favorite is their Shrimp Diablo, OMG, it is delicious! This last time I went, I was dog-sitting for my sister so I went alone and was the only one sitting in their outdoor patio. My server was Mark and he did a great job, never forgetting about me sitting out there alone. It was very enjoyable, they have umbrellas on all of their outdoor tables so there is plenty of shelter from the sun. I can't compare them to other Mexican restaurants in town because I haven't tried others, it's hard to do that when you're happy with where you're getting great food and great service! read more
