I visited this food truck for the first time about 2 years ago (2021), and it quickly became my FAVORITE food truck in San Diego for seafood. I tried the Baja fish tacos, ceviche, consomé, grilled fish tacos, and shrimp tacos. Everything was wonderful! I recommend the fish tacos to everyone, all the time. I visited again this past weekend (in 2023), and it was just as good. However, I did notice that the prices went up. Will I still go again whenever I'm in the SD area? Absolutely. But, it just doesn't have as much wow factor for the "bang for your buck" Anyway, service is pretty quick and they have some seating under a tent. I used to be a big fan of this seafood truck -- it was once the best street seafood around, always fresh, flavorful, and generous with portions. Unfortunately, my recent visit was a real disappointment. The quality has noticeably gone down, and the portion sizes were much smaller than before, especially for the price the food quality doesn't worth the wait or price. This place right here is a gem for me, when I'm down in SD i always make the drive, the Marlon taco is a must if you have never tried. The area has changed over the years but the food is still authentic, you can't go wrong with the OG fish tacos, el gobernador tacos are my dad tried the shrimp cocktail here and he Approved. He's a retired cook and his specialties are seafood and for him to say is good saids a lot. it's about a 20 minute drive from downtown SD. We used to come here regularly since 2015 but ever since they had new management it was no longer the same. Waiting is now longer because they are not organized. Some of the bad experience under the new management that I've seen: they don't change gloves even when they touch money, or surfaces outside the kitchen/truck, drinks being returned bec. it went bad, incomplete order, delays in order..They should not pass the sanitary inspection from the city. Located in Chula Vista in the parking lot of the old Toys R Us.This place has been competing for years against many Food Trucks as CV is very well known for their food trucks.They are one of the original ones & in my opinion still one of the best as far as taste & portions go. They always have people here, when I come I bring my chairs, truck & me & the fam order our food & just chill in the lot sitting in our chairs & sometimes friends meet us there & we drink our beer, eat & just hang out & chat. I've been to almost all the Southbay Marisco trucks & this one has the best chiviche & some of the better cocktails & tacos. They don't hold back in the portions & try to overload it with tomatoes like others do. Love their fish tacos & their Governado taco, my fav is CAMARO A LA DIABLA! Yes I put it in big letters so you guys can get it! That taco is almost better than sex & it can lead to sex because it's a well known fact Marisco/seafood for Mexicans is like Viagra to us, true story ask my wife :) Their consome (fish broth) & seafood cocktails are real good too & their prices are fair on some items. A few problems here are they charge $1 for the consome which most Marisco Trucks don't, not cool. Another problem is the customer service is well kind of rude sometimes. Look I know it's a damn food truck Andy what do you want the red carpet? No but they can be a bit nicer especially the register ladies, they sound like they need a hug. Taco truck located in Chula Vista in the old Toys R Us parking lot with ample parking. I rolled up on them at about 8am and they were all ready to serve food. I ordered their famous fish tacos and it was delicious! Two fish tacos and a can of coke for under $5! The fish filet in the taco was a good size, meaty and thick with a light batter coating. Served with cabbage, pico, and their crema. They also have an arrangement of salsa's in jars for you to choose from. I'll definitely be back to try more of their items! read more

Thank goodness there are pictures! I recently noticed a new Mexican taco truck down the street and it made me wonder if it was the same one I've been reading about on Yelp. To my luck, IT IS!! They've relocated to the parking lot of the $5 store on the corner of University and College Ave.!! *cheers* They had a huge sign advertising 99 cent fish tacos. I ordered 7 and in the meanwhile chatted up the owner about his relocation and it sounds like he's liking the new location and will be there for awhile (I hope it's permanent). While waiting, I got to try that free fish tomato soup I've been reading about. They could go a smidge heavier on the spices but otherwise, tastes great! I loved it! I can see them snacking on it inside while they're waiting too! When I got the fish tacos, I love how the owner guy opens up my wrapped up to-go tacos and puts some of his favorite green hot sauce in there as a recommendation. I tried it, I loved it. What I also thought was awesome was that they also made everything fresh so the fish was nice and crispy on the outside. Even the soup was piping hot! If you love seafood, you will love this place! I happened to be getting off the freeway (5 South at L Street) and saw this truck parked in the Toys R Us parking lot. I decided to stop in and was really amazed at the size of their menu. For being a food truck, their menu was huge! I decided to order four fish tacos (for my wife and I) and at a little over $1 a taco, it was a steal! When I got home, the tacos were crispy and better than anything that Rubio's makes. The locals weren't lying when they said "EVERYTHING is good here"! Starving after flying in from Sacramento, my sister took me to this food truck for lunch. Its located in the same lot as Toys R Us but it felt like the food truck was the main reason people even came to this area. Let's talk those fish tacos! They were FIRE!!! Crispy and meaty, the sauce didn't make it soggy either so I got a crunch with every bite. The menu is huge, offering something for everyone. Soda was a $1 which I was surprised by considering everything in NorCal is so damn expensive. They even gave us soup that was delicious but since it's Sunny San Diego, I didn't care for it.
