This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The sushi rolls are to die for. And they have the best Micheladas! I come here every other week and I love the place. Always a good vibe when I'm here. During the weekend there's even live banda! Very loud but still enjoyable. The only downfall to this place is the customer service. They need some improvement. Some of their waitress forget to serve salsa and chips and don't check up on your table for a long time. Also the wait. If you're in no rush for your food this is a good place! read more

This place blows. Slow service, rude waitresses, and small food portions for the prices you pay. And is this a sushi bar or a mariscos restaurant? We came in at 6:30 and didn't get our food until 7:15! 45 min is too long to wait for your food and it wasn't even busy. Then the waitress didn't even come by and offer refills on our drinks. It's the waitresses job to make the customer feel welcomed and satisfied to have come to their establishment, but instead I felt ignored and annoyed. So far so good ! I had a Michelada with shrimp and it was so yummy ! Originally we ordered the king crab appetizer but we asked if it was any good and the bartender/waitress suggested Camarones Cucaracha instead and I was a little put off by the name but OMG it was so good even the sauce you dip it in is to die for ! I'll have to come and try the sushi next ! The decor is a little different its Spanish style mixed with Asian writing on the wall I'm guessing because they are trying to mix the two. The chips and salsa were pretty good I just wish the salsa was a little more hot but the hard salty chips made the sauce taste better . I would put 0 stars but i can only go as low as 1 star. My california rolls were nasty. The rice tasted undercooked. Got a different plate with french fries and they were undercooked as well, salad was all watery and the rice was cold. Ended up leaving. Never going back again. read more

Well to start off I do agree with those that say they don't acknowledge you when you walk in but.........I had reservations so obviously I approached waitress and asked but it's self seating if you walk in. I had no problem at all with customer service .not to mention we were a party of alil over 15 people and we also reserved . We had no problems what so ever with the service . But also keep in mind when you go during Banda or entertainment it gets loud don't expect to be heard 100% . Yes they charge you if you request songs keep that in mind. Money wise it's similar to any other mariscos spot with entertainment.if you plan on going for food and not just drinks try and get there an hour before entertainment so you can enjoy food and then just chill and drink with music .As for the food I only had King roll and horchata ( no music )the rest was shots(with music) . Service was pretty much near redic! We came very close to leaving after waiting 30 min for drinks and chips. As far as the food goes: decent. Don't recommend the sushi. I ordered the mojarra: meaty talapia yet lacking in flavor. The star of the evening were the camarones cucarachas. The aguas chiles weren't bad, just a small portion. I love the food here especially the king roll omg its so good. The only reason i gave them 4 stars is because the customer service is not good. Actually i should not judge all of them its just one in particular i did not get her name but i been their many times and out of all those times i gotten that waitress twice. Compared to their competition ostioneria colima the food taste was great! Quality was good but quantity, well was no comparison to their competition. Tostadas were smaller than usual, aguachiles verdes tasty but a small portion. Michelada mmmm mmmm great!!! But felt like eating at sushi loco, a popis place lol!!! Who are they targeting? Very disappointing! This place is more of a bar than a restaurant. They have pool table and a large bar that take up most of the space. The chairs are very uncomfortable and very dirty. The waitress that helped us didn't really know what she was doing, she kept forgetting to attend us. Then I saw her drinking behind the bar with a customer. The food was bland and had no real flavor. The atmosphere is not family friendly as they had drunk people at the bar arguing and saying bad words. At first I though it was an argument between customers but, then the female that was arguing with him enters the bar and starts working the bar. This place doesn't have there employees were a uniform so you don't know who works there and who doesn't. The lady that picked up our plates had just finished having a beer with one of the guys at the bar. So when she approached us about removing our plates were where very confused. Bottom line unless your looking for a bar atmosphere this place sucks! read more

Tried this place for the first time about a week ago and it was definetly good. I will continue to come into this restaurant the food is great customer service is fantastic. My friend/waiter Liz who also use to work at Sushi Loco gave me and my friends good customer service and she was also helpful with giving me and my friends an introduction of the plates Rocamar had to offer since it was mine and my friends first time eating at this restaurant. Came to this place because I was invited. How ever this is like the saying of don't judge a book by its cover. From the outside it doesn't look so great. But once you open the doors and walk in it's an entirely different world. This place is very clean, Art Deco is rustic and very ranch like. The servers were very easy going but enthusiastic at the same time (Great service from their part). The food was something that I did not expect. We got some shrimp cucarachas (roaches) and the way these thing are prepared is just an exciting party of flavor ready to explode in your mouth. They were delicious. Also tried the carne asada plate, comes with a side of rice, beans, and a small salad. The beef itself was very very flavorful and juicy. We also had a michelada and even this thing come with an excellent presentation that will not only enchant your eyes but leave your taste buds wanting more. Over all the food Is definitely something I would expect from a high end restaurant that might be overlooking the beach out somewhere expensive. But it's not. It's in our neighborhood and it's definitely a jewel in itself. I would recommend you go try this place. read more

By far the worst experience ever!! Waited half an hour to get an order for drinks, another half hour for or actual drinks and a full hour for our food. The so called Norteño band they had on a Saturday night was beyond horrible. The singer could barely be Understood and the fact that he didn't know certain classic songs and I do mean classics was beyond ridiculous. And the fact that the "house band" charged $15 per song for songs you can barely understand was insulting in itself. When I asked to speak to the manager everyone played dumb and said there isn't a manager on site for the night, which I couldn't believe. How do you run a restaurant without a manger on site on a Saturday night?! Will not be back and will definitely not recommend to others. For the prices they charge for the food you would think they would be on top of things. The cherry on top was when my brother had to remind the waitress for his michelada 3x. Really come on. Been here twice wife loves the king roll, it's a new spot just opened. Empanadas de camaron are bomb too. Only bad experience I had twice already are the meseras not getting our oders right. First time they brought everyone their food except my daughters when we asked and saw she had forgotten she said they were working on it. Second time we went was mothers day and my wife asked for a tostada de ceviche de pescado and they brought her camaron. On my dish it came with either tortillas de maiz or flower and specifically asked for flower and I was brought corn. Im giving 5 stars cause we like the food and the owner is new and we know he is barely starting but if he wants his business popping he needs to know these little things. Im not the one to put the girls on the spot and get them in trouble there so hopefully the owner reads this review and takes measures. Most definitely will be back to rocamar.
