This spot is a family fave! We have been coming here for years and it is always delicious. There is an abundance of seating, so this is great for big groups. The service is always very friendly and quick. Try the "agua mineral preparada" for a refreshing mocktail!

Shrimp tacos are nasty af, good service tho I just don't like the recipe for the shrimp tacos, and ADD MORE AVOCADO PLEASE! Btw there's a bunch of tweakers guarding the restaurant, so beware.

Favorite shrimp tacos to grab from San Juan. Simple yet delicious every time . Even better if you grab a michelada with your meal.

I have always like the tacos de camarón (love them) from this place, I will give them a 9/10 on the food. I don't really like it that they seat me by the speaker and a lady was singing so loud that I was very upset. I move out to another table away from the speaker but the singing was super loud. I don't like that. I think music and good ambiance is great and super but please, don't let it be so loud. I'm not at the club, they should measure the difference. It was only 3pm. I am giving this restaurant today 4 stars just because of the food and a guy that sign a romantic song. This men was singing very smooth and this change the ambiance, he was a client and he was super.

I love a good mixture of ceviche and one of my girlfriends recommended this place. San Juan is known for their seafood dishes so my husband and I decided to pay a visit. Everything on the menu is seafood based -- ranging from Shrimp Tacos to Whole Fish plates, and even oysters! I ordered the mixed seafood ceviche which had some crab, octopus, and whole shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of tomatoes and avocado. My husband ordered the whole fish plate (there are two different fishes to choose from) which came with some salad, rice, and tortillas. The fish was extra crispy on the outside and was rich in flavor in the inside. We both agreed our plates were really worth noting for freshness and taste. There's a jukebox for music in which patrons can select their favorite jams. Our server was attentive and very polite. I'm only deducting one star from this review because the corridor walking up to the front door is very filthy and smells horrible (maybe sewage problem?). Aside from that, it's definitely worth checking out if you want a hearty Mexican inspired seafood dish.

Mariscos San Juan 2!! Ive been coming to this location for over 10 years. The building is a but outdated, yet it has a family environment and delicious seafood! To drink I ordered the Agua de Jamaica (one of my favorites) refreshing for this heatwave! I ordered a Small plato mixto , Crispy Shrimp tacos and a Campechana (octopus, shrimp, oysters) the flavors are like no other. The service is quick, the waitress was super nice and served us promptly. The food is freshly made, the seafood has to be one of my personal favorites in San Jose!

Have always loved this spot! Their shrimp tacos are a forever favorite. Love the shrimp with my beer too, nice touch. Recently had their pulpo botanas, OMG this is octopus!?! So delicious. I got it picante yum! FYI "Picante" meaning spicy was way too spicy for my boyfriend, but PERFECTION for me. And i got to eat more myself hehehe. So be careful if you don't have a high tolerance. A bit pricey but it's 100% shrimp and octopus and worth it, just share the deliciousness with a friend. It won't disappoint.

We went in at 9 pm on a Friday night with a group of eight of us. Please note that the restaurant is tiny so it did take sometime while we waited for our table, but we did not wait too long. There was plenty of parking spots in the plaza and the restaurant was a little loud, but it was a small place for a bunch of people dining in on a late evening. The service was great. They were checking in whenever we were ready to order and answering all of our questions. Because our group was so large, we did have to squish into a small table, but it did not make the food any less delicious. They had a special where we could choose 4 pounds of any types of shrimp, mussels, crawfish, clam. This was a great deal, and I wish I knew to order more. Once we were finished with this 4 pounds... We ordered some more. I believe we ordered with the Louisiana sauce at medium and it was to die for. We also tried the sweet California, but I thought it was just OK. To be honest, it was a little bit too sweet for me, but everyone's taste differ. We also ordered the basil clams and they were also delicious but they did come pretty late into a meal. My friends that don't eat seafood, enjoyed the lamb chops, the chicken wings, the garlic noodles and some other dishes. All in all, I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a great spot to enjoy with friends and I am so grateful that it was open late night. I am already thinking about the next time I come to visit San Jose to eat some more.

Very much gen z service here. We got garlic noodles and the 4lb combo (2lbs crawfish, 1lb shrimp, 1lb mussels) with medium spice Sweet California sauce. The garlic noodles are very homey and uniquely Vietnamese. They remind me a lot of my mom's cooking. I don't recommend the crawfish right now because they were so small and overcooked. However the shrimp was plump and sweet, so I wish we got more of that instead. There were a bunch of empty shells in our bag because the actual mussels fell out. It's very crowded seating inside the restaurant. Parking is easy at night but during the day, the plaza is extremely crowded.

The seafood was well-seasoned with a nice spicy kick, and our noodles were very garlicky (in a good way). The chicken tenders were also flavorful, but a bit dry (I still like it btw). The only small downside was that the crawfish had a bit of a fishy taste, but it wasn't enough to ruin the meal since the seasoning was still really good. The shrimp, on the other hand, were delicious and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is spacious with plenty of seating, great for groups. It was pretty busy when we arrived, which says a lot about how popular the place is, but we were still able to enjoy our meal comfortably. The service was efficient despite the crowd, we didn't have to wait for too long. Overall, we had a great experience and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area again!

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

Sweet soy dipping sauce, chili sambal and pickled shredded daikon / carrots were given on the side. OK overall, the taro cake was too dense and heavy for me. The dipping sauce was delicious though. I think I would have preferred the original rice cake version. The portion was kinda small for the price tag. 3/5* CHA CA CHIEN (2) $12 -fried fish cake taco. It's basically fish paste smeared on rice paper, folded in half and deep fried. It came with sweet and sour sauce. Pretty good, different but again, hefty price tag for what you get. It's more like a snack. 3/5* The lady taking our order was super friendly. She gave us a free sample of their crispy rice with pork floss. She also noticed that we had our toddler with us so she asked if we wanted extra napkins, plates and water. After today's visit, though... I finally understand why the second location closed. Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The food quality has clearly declined while the prices have continued to go up.
