Favorite shrimp tacos to grab from San Juan. Simple yet delicious every time . Even better if you grab a michelada with your meal.

I have always like the tacos de camarón (love them) from this place, I will give them a 9/10 on the food. I don't really like it that they seat me by the speaker and a lady was singing so loud that I was very upset. I move out to another table away from the speaker but the singing was super loud. I don't like that. I think music and good ambiance is great and super but please, don't let it be so loud. I'm not at the club, they should measure the difference. It was only 3pm. I am giving this restaurant today 4 stars just because of the food and a guy that sign a romantic song. This men was singing very smooth and this change the ambiance, he was a client and he was super.

I love a good mixture of ceviche and one of my girlfriends recommended this place. San Juan is known for their seafood dishes so my husband and I decided to pay a visit. Everything on the menu is seafood based -- ranging from Shrimp Tacos to Whole Fish plates, and even oysters! I ordered the mixed seafood ceviche which had some crab, octopus, and whole shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of tomatoes and avocado. My husband ordered the whole fish plate (there are two different fishes to choose from) which came with some salad, rice, and tortillas. The fish was extra crispy on the outside and was rich in flavor in the inside. We both agreed our plates were really worth noting for freshness and taste. There's a jukebox for music in which patrons can select their favorite jams. Our server was attentive and very polite. I'm only deducting one star from this review because the corridor walking up to the front door is very filthy and smells horrible (maybe sewage problem?). Aside from that, it's definitely worth checking out if you want a hearty Mexican inspired seafood dish.

    Small Plato Mixto(fish ceviche,octopus,shrimp)

Mariscos San Juan 2!! Ive been coming to this location for over 10 years. The building is a but outdated, yet it has a family environment and delicious seafood! To drink I ordered the Agua de Jamaica (one of my favorites) refreshing for this heatwave! I ordered a Small plato mixto , Crispy Shrimp tacos and a Campechana (octopus, shrimp, oysters) the flavors are like no other. The service is quick, the waitress was super nice and served us promptly. The food is freshly made, the seafood has to be one of my personal favorites in San Jose!

Have always loved this spot! Their shrimp tacos are a forever favorite. Love the shrimp with my beer too, nice touch. Recently had their pulpo botanas, OMG this is octopus!?! So delicious. I got it picante yum! FYI "Picante" meaning spicy was way too spicy for my boyfriend, but PERFECTION for me. And i got to eat more myself hehehe. So be careful if you don't have a high tolerance. A bit pricey but it's 100% shrimp and octopus and worth it, just share the deliciousness with a friend. It won't disappoint.

Since that night, it has become the only seafood boil spot that I consistently come back to. My go-to order is the shrimp and crawfish with their Sweet California sauce, along with a side of garlic noodles. The Sweet California sauce is what keeps me returning. It's not your typical Cajun seafood boil sauce--it has a unique flavor that's completely its own and sets this place apart from every other seafood boil restaurant I've tried. Depending on when you visit, the restaurant can either be packed or nearly empty. It's a smaller space, and large parties tend to come through often, so wait times can vary. One thing to keep in mind is that the host, server, and food runner are often the same person. Because of that, I always try to give them some grace. If you need something, just let them know, and they'll do their best to take care of you as quickly as possible. Don't let the small exterior fool you--this place is absolutely delicious. Whether it's 11 a.m. or 3 a.m., I'll happily find myself back here for another seafood boil.

This place gets pretty busy so just keep in mind you might have to wait before getting seated. As for food, we ordered the 3lb combo (1 crawfish, 2 shrimp) in sweet California mild, rice, fries and grilled oysters. The combo came out pretty fast. I really love this sweet California sauce- it's creamy and delicious. I would even try medium since I hardly taste the spice for a mild. The fries and grilled oyster took a while to come out. Fries were good. The grilled oysters were yummy but I don't think I'd order them again. Service can be a bit slow. I would ask them for more limes or a bowl and they would forget and I would have to ask them again. However, I will say the workers here are very kind! Overall, good food, ok service - definitely coming back!

The garlic fries were cooked to the perfect level of crispiness, while the lobster garlic noodles were flavorful, savory, and packed with garlic goodness. The seafood itself was fresh and good quality, but I found the House Special Mild sauce a little underwhelming. I was hoping for more depth and flavor, but most of what I tasted was a mild kick of heat. While it wasn't bad, it didn't have the rich, buttery, and well-seasoned flavor profile that I typically look for in a seafood boil sauce. Service was great throughout our visit. We were seated promptly, our food arrived quickly, and any requests we had were fulfilled without issue. The staff was attentive and made the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. I also appreciated the restaurant's nautical theme. The decor featured fishing nets, ship-inspired accents, and other sea-themed elements that helped create a fun and immersive atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad we gave this place a try. The garlic noodles and fries were delicious, and the service was excellent. While I would probably choose other seafood boil spots in the future, this was still a solid experience and worth trying at least once.

Too bad you can't add to the waitlist beforehand. I was really disappointed with our visit. I haven't been to The Boiling Crab in years--probably 7…read moreyears or more. One reason is that I don't live in the San Jose area anymore, and another is that there are now so many seafood boil spots around since Boiling Crab really started the trend. One positive right away: there was no long wait. We arrived around 8pm and were seated immediately, which was great. I remember the days when we'd have to put our name down and walk around Target while waiting for our table. I do wish they offered combo bags like a lot of other seafood boil places do now, since that's always a hit. Instead, we ordered 3 pounds of shrimp with whole-sha-bang sauce in mild. The shrimp themselves were great--nice and big, not the tiny peanut-sized ones you sometimes get. The flavor was also really good. However, the "mild" tasted much spicier than I remembered. From past visits, mild always had a small kick but was still pretty manageable. This honestly tasted closer to medium. My boyfriend politely asked one of the servers if he could get a small side of garlic butter because the sauce was spicier than expected. She immediately responded that it would be $5 for extra sauce, and the way it was said came off pretty rude. We understand that there's an option to make the bag "extra saucy" for an additional charge, but he wasn't asking for extra sauce for the whole bag--just a small side to balance out the spice. Even a simple response like "I'm sorry it came out spicier than expected" would have gone a long way. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years, and I've always believed in "kill them with kindness." We weren't rude at all--we just mentioned that it seemed spicier than mild. In the end, we decided to just skip the extra sauce. Again, the flavor was still good, but to me this definitely tasted more like medium. When we got our check, a different server asked how everything was. My boyfriend mentioned that the sauce was spicier than mild, and she responded with, "Oh no, I'm sorry it wasn't exactly what you wanted." We told her it wasn't her fault since we had already mentioned it earlier, and she just gave us a sympathetic look. Overall, the food itself was good, and I'd probably give it a 4 for taste, but the lack of customer service knocked the experience down for me. I understand it was later in the evening and they still had a full lobby, but a little kindness and attentiveness would have made a big difference.

My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday afternoon for some lunch, and we got a table after waiting about 2-3 minutes. It was pretty busy. We took our time looking at the menu, but not a single team member approached us asking if we were ready to order. I pressed the call server button two times and on the third time, I had to verbally called out someone that we were ready. It's understandable to a certain extent because the restaurant is busy, you'd need to run back and forth, take your time. However, they were sitting more customers down, and forgetting to check on the customers that already sat down. Also, it doesn't help the fact that we were sat in front of the kitchen and in front of the cashier where multiple servers were mostly standing around, so it's unacceptable that no one came to check on us after multiple calls. Fast forward, we ordered, we got our food. The food here is good, and it's actually one of my favorite pho spots in the area. The soup is good and Phở Đặc Biệt is always my go to. At the end, we were talking and eating still and a server just came up to us and dropped the bill without a single word. Not a "whenever you're ready," or anything. We felt disrespected. I've been a server before, and this is just not how you'd treat your customers. Unfortunately I will not be coming back and it's really sad that the food is good but the service is horrible. I strongly encourage management to look into this and make improvements among the staff.

I'm used to typical straightforward nature at markets, but their attitude is something else. I was constantly berated while looking at mangos near the door. Literally the whole time, an employee was standing right next to me and nagging me as if I was about to topple all the fruit off the stand or completely obstructing the door. I wasn't, and it's absolutely normal to sort through and select fruit? These mangos are EXPENSIVE, I don't want to just blindly pick a box. When I asked if I should pay outside or inside at the cashier (since some grocers will have you pay for outside merchandise, outside), she rudely asked if I was blind and couldn't see the cashier. I asked the cashier about this behavior (in Vietnamese) and was entirely ignored. Literally not a single word said. Not sure why I hadn't just left at this point, but I bought 6 large, rather expensive, boxes. I truly regret it because even THEN, they made me feel like a nuisance for setting them down outside as I carried them 2-by-2 to my car on the other side of the parking lot. There are no carts and I'm not exactly the strongest body builder out there, not sure what they expected of me. I regret spending my money here. There are plenty other stores in the area for tropical fruit, with better prices and better service.
