I've been coming to Tequila's Taqueria for a long time now--at least 20 visits--and it never misses. My daughter and I even ordered their fresh fish sushi countless times during COVID, and it was always top-tier. On this most recent trip, I took my mom and we absolutely loved the enchiladas and the chivela. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. The spice level was perfect--it has a serious kick that might be intense for some, but for us, it was spot on! The atmosphere here is always so vibrant and high-energy. The music is spirited, which really keeps the mood happy and fun. If you're looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it, but if you want great food and a festive vibe, this is the place to be! They really load up the tacos here! Also comes with complementary onions and pepper, which I've seen other places charge extra for. I gave it four stars because I did order through a delivery platform and as expected, the tortillas were soggy by the time it arrived. Had the regular Quesadilla with Carnitas (pork) and Super Taco with Al Pastor meat. The regular Quesadilla had cheese and meat without all the fixings but it was very good that it didn't need it. The pork was very tasty, perfectly seasoned, with just enough fat to give it that buttery bacony rich flavor. Grilled taste and juicy meat. The Al Pastor meat in the Super Tacos had the pineapple flavor. Also juicy meat. On the salty side with a slight spicy kick to it. They didn't hold back on the ingredients; generous shredded cheese, sour cream and guac. This is the type of taco you have to eat with fork and knife because the tortilla was not visible under all the toppings and meat. They also serve breakfast in very good portion from what I saw on another customer's table. Will go back to try the breakfast and, surprised to see, the sushi. Nice staff. I've been here more times than I can count and I've even ordered platters of rice and beans for parties. They never disappoint. It's a lively place that has music on occasion. This place was such a vibe! We somehow came during happy hour and karaoke night. So many happy people just singing their hearts out. It was great but the food was even better! I enjoyed the fried fish (Mojarra Frita), crispy on the outside and nice and flakey on the inside. This portion was huge and could feed two people. I also tried Mexican sushi for the first time too. I liked how it had unique flavors and sauces. One thing that stood out to me was both entrees came with avocado! In this economy?! Wow that's great! Another funny incident we stumbled upon was when we ordered micheladas and since it was happy hour they each came with a free beer on the side! I was so full I couldn't drink mine but it was a happy coincidence for sure. Staff were super friendly and checked in on us a couple of times. They had such good energy. A friend introduced me to this spot one night after the gym because she was craving ceviche. Let me tell you! Their ceviche here is bomb.com. Ever since going here, whenever I crave ceviche, this is the place that pops into my head. This spot is lively and seemingly always busy! Even when we go on weekdays, there is sometimes a wait. As long as I know that going in, I have no problem waiting. They even have bands come into the restaurant! Oh, my goodness. This place is just a good time all around! Their micheladas are enormous. Always packed with people who are smiling which says a ton for its reputation I've been in and out of here delivering and have seen this place completely packed with people waiting in line. The plates are huge. The food is just WOW! So today is my day to treat my family to this awesomeness. I couldn't wait to try it! I got the asada tacos and they were delicious. The meat was super tender and it appears the tortillas are hand made. Everything was fresh. The green salsa had the right amount of tang and not too spicy. There were burritos and quesadillas and chilaquiles on our list and every single one is just amazing. Portions were split in half for two meals. I'm definately coming back here. I would have to say this is the best Mexican restaurant I've been to in the area. Cute taqueria hidden in this little shopping center on Leigh Ave. This place is always packed and offers awesome live music. The food was delicious. The portion was generously packed with so much good flavors. The orangey color salsa that comes with the chips was so damn flavorful and has such a great kick to it. I have a very high spice level and it was perfect. Got the taco combo and steak fajita. My greedy ass only wishes that I had two more tortillas (5 total) to finish off the the rest of the fajitas. Such great flavor. Paired the food off with the regular michelada. My beverage came out basically the same time as my food. I've been back here multiple times and am never disappointed. The coctel de camarón is bomb and huge. Definitely worth the price. Nice staff and they always hook it up with the chips. The service is fantastic but the food is even better, my friend ordered 5 carnitas tacos "see pictures" which looked super delicious. I ordered my go to Super burrito de El Pastor I got to say not only was this "thang" huge, it was seriously delicious, with just the right amount of sour cream, homemade perfectly seasoned Mexican rice, IMO the perfect amount of finely chopped jalapeños, and the El Pastor had such a great flavor. We showed up around 1:30 pm and the inside and out was packed with people "I wonder why. ;D " As we were enjoying our lunch one of the waitresses walked went around table to table asking The patrons if they would like a free shot of tequila! Who does that? This place does that's who! We declined, but still.... Talk about keeping your customers happy! They also give you free warmed up chips and refills on the chips, red and green salsa and they have at least four different kinds of hot sauces at every table. This place is excellent! It's honestly my favorite place to get carnitas super burritos. The one I had today was loaded with flavorful rice, pinto beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. But the carnitas are always on another level compared to other taquerias. Today's was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. I love it when I see the pork grease just flow down my hands after I finish a burrito. They also never skimp on the shrimp if you get a quesadilla. You get a complimentary bag of chips and salsas with your order. Their green and orange salsas have a good heat and taste delicious. Came out here for the first time the other night. Place gets pretty packed at around 7/8. If you are trying to find a quiet place to have dinner this is not the place but if you are looking for good vibes and ready to hear some live music then this is place is great. We sat outdoors and they had other music playing but it was all good loved it either way. Must get a michelada!
