From queso to quesadillas, fish tacos to birria...Pueblo Viejo has all the classics combined with a few house specialties. I usually go with the classic arroz con pollo, but decided to switch it up and go with the Quesadilla El Rey, which featured grilled chicken, cheese, mushrooms and onions, sided with rice. The quesadilla was delicious, well cooked and packed with the goods! Of course before the main, I started with a small queso. The queso was bland and a bit thick for my liking. The complimentary salsa was also nothing special. They both got the job done, but were just okay. The space is small, one large dining room featuring a variety of table setups along with a small bar in the back corner. No frills space, which is duplicated in their food. Service was friendly and timely. Place was clean and well kept. Overall, Pueblo Viejo is a solid 3.5 for me. Happy to go back and enjoy a meal, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

That was in the pre Covid times & place made me remember how great that it was having a Mexican lunch buffet nearby. The inside of the restaurant is simple, clean, and the staff are very attentive. There was a note on the door that said their last day at that location will be May 17 and there is a for lease sign in the parking lot. They said they are going to relocate in the area & I hope so. because we cannot afford to lose another Mexican lunch buffet spot. We've already sacrificed so much as a society in the name of progress, but we must retain our access to queso dip via a daily lunch buffet or what is the point of all of this?

I haven't witnessed a Mexican buffet like that since I was on the resort in Cancun. The flavors on that buffet, you will not taste from your local Mexican restaurant. Nonetheless, it's worth searching for. In a word, it's vibrant. It's colorful and energetic atmosphere means this is not where you are going to go for a quiet romantic evening. The walls are beautifully adorned with hand-painted murals and paintings, creating a truly unique and inviting dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food! The fresh guacamole is a must-try - chunks of guacamole, perfectly seasoned, and made fresh. We opted for the street tacos with consomé as the main. Tasty and flavorful- authentic. Though, those looking for a healthier option may not find these to their liking. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect meal. And, like restaurants in Mexico, and the rest of world, they bring the machine to process credit card payments right to your table rather than take your card to God know where to run it. Amorcito Corazon is definitely worth a try. The prices are reasonable, the food is good, and service is great. Relaxed atmosphere with colorful murals and decor. Is worth mention they have a stage for shows and performers in some nights. Highly recommended

I went with the chicken fajita enchiladas because I had never seen that on a menu before, I was expecting enchiladas filled with fajita style chicken and veggies but what arrived was even better! Two cheese enchiladas covered in red sauce and cheese, topped with perfectly cooked chicken (I love when chicken has little crispy bits), and fajita style veggies. On the side was guacamole, sour cream, pico, lettuce, and rice. It was perfect! You could make every bite a perfect bit this way and it really helped the chicken shine (plus I feel like you got more chicken and veggies this way)! When I reheated some the next day and the cheese got super melty inside the enchilada it was even better - I imagine fresh it would have topped both ways I had it! I also ordered an à la carte chimichanga because the pictures online looked great! It was stuffed with shredded chicken that was well seasoned and flawlessed wrapped tight and topped with cheese sauce/cheese dip! It was still crispy, but fresh I bet it would have been even crispier! It was a solid chimichanga. I will say that the rice lacked a little flavor for my taste, but honestly everything else was such a slam dunk I was okay with it! The order also came with 2 cups of salsa and an overflowing bag of chips. The salsa was as expected, which is fine by me. It was great that even with to go orders they still gave free chips and salsa. This place is solid, I liked that some of the menu items are more unique that other similar spots, and I have a lot of respect for a place that the food still taste great after being delivered AND when it needs to be reheated!

While nothing has Plaza Mexican stand out from other Mexican restaurants in the area, I do enjoy my visits here. Food is good, my go-to is usually enchiladas with rice and taco or the classic cheesy chicken and rice. Basic, yes...tasty, also yes! Queso to start each meal is also a requirement. I have enjoyed dine -in and on occasion take out. Both end with a full belly and happiness. Service is decent. It honestly ranges, where I have had great service to not so great service. Nothing ever bad enough to call it quits, but enough to sense something is off. The space is well laid out with copious amounts of booth and table seating. Well maintained and clean. Parking is no issue due to their location in the center. May not get a front row spot, but you have a whole lot to cruise around and find parking. Overall, I am a fan of Plaza Mexican. It is definitely in the rotation!

I frequent this area for Kroger and a few other spots, so I have passed Pancho Villa hundreds of times and finally decided to swing through for a bite, lunch more specifically. The space is larger than it appears and is maximized for seating with rows of booths lining both walls upon entry leading to an open dining room, combined with a partially separate dining space and then the outdoor covered patio! The art and décor are classic style with some nods to the local culture and happenings of the past. Booths are intricately carved and the overall theme is noted throughout. Service left a bit to be desired, mainly due to the lack of. I was sat almost immediately upon entering, but was not greeted again for my order for close to 8 minutes after being sat. And the host was the one who circled back to help me in lieu of my waiter, which was not seen until my food was brought out. They were both friendly, but not exactly efficient. I started my meal with queso, because it is basically law when eating at a Mexican restaurant. Sadly the queso was super bland. I ordered the Pollo Bandido, which is essentially chicken and queso with the addition of mushrooms, and sided with rice and beans. The queso did not do much for the dish flavor wise, but the chicken and mushrooms were well cooked and seasoned. Beans were solid, but the rice was undercooked or old, as the texture was tough and almost crunchy. Given the delays with service, I opted to just eat the beans and main portion of my meal. Plenty of parking with a dedicated lot and overflow at the neighboring hotel if needed. Overall, not at the top of my list for local Mexican spots. A bit bummed on the service and food quality here.

My server was sweet and helpful, and then another server checked in throughout my meal as well. Not too overwhelmingly so, just enough. Food was solid. Menu has all the classics and a few house specialty dishes. I stared my meal with a small queso and went with the lunch order of Chilaquiles. The Chilaquiles had chicken and a red sauce that was perfection. Not too thick, but also not runny or watery. It stuck to the chicken, cheese and chips very nicely. It was a pretty tasty lunch! The queso was standard, nothing special, but it was exactly what I was after. Only thing keeping it from a full 5 star is value. While the Chilaquiles and rice were well priced and worth the $12.99, the small queso coming in at $6.50 and the side of sour cream pushing $2.00 was a bit surprising. Overall, solid Mexican spot that I would happily swing back by when in White House!

They have several other locations around the city, and this is my second or third location I have visited of the brand. They are consistent, as my experiences across the brand seem to be similar. We have eaten weekend lunch and dinner at this location, and even had take-out on occasion. I will say over the years, the food quality at this location has seen improvement, which is nice to notice. For lunch and dinner, my go to is usually their house variation of Arroz con Pollo, but they amp it up a bit as the LP Special, which adds fajita veggies and second protein, but I usually just double up the chicken. My partner always goes quesadilla or burrito, specifically the fajita burrito. While we have not tried it, it is cool that they now offer their burritos in bowls, so for those low carb foodies!
