During our consultation, I felt uncomfortable with how defensive the conversation became when we discussed obtaining multiple bids and comparing options. For a project of this size (34+ windows), I believe it's reasonable for homeowners to ask detailed questions, compare vendors, and carefully evaluate products, pricing, and installation approaches before making a decision. Rather than helping us understand the differences between available options, the conversation felt increasingly tense and dismissive, particularly when discussing our use of AI generated visuals to help refine the design direction we are trying to achieve. After scheduling a consultation, Gina later that same day decided not to take on the project, which is certainly her prerogative, and I appreciate that she communicated that before any work began. That said, the experience left me with the impression that questions, comparison shopping, and our personal decision making process were viewed negatively rather than as a normal part of a significant home investment. Through no fault of their own, there was a manufacturing defect in my original window shades with them. Christopher, at House of Blinds, was in total communication with me from start to finish for solutions. He sent to me the color swatches to choose, size of honeycomb blinds to approve, and rushed an installation date for me. The courtesy and professionalism of the crew was fantastic. They arrived on the date and scheduled time as promised. Plus, they put on " booties" over their shoes so as to keep my floors free of dirt. And, the blinds look fantastic and are easy to use. I have a very large window and the measurements and installation were perfect. Everything went beyond my expectations. I did run into a problem when I tried to register my blind with Hunter Douglas. The registration number was not being accepted. I called House of Blinds, and I think it was Jacqueline who contacted Hunter Douglas directly and got my product registered. This is the third time (prior homes) I have hired House of Blinds to do window treatments for me. I highly recommend them.

    If I could put "zero" stars , I would. We needed shades for our 3 skylights.There were so many…read moreissues that is simply unbelievable. Here they are: 1. The time frame of one month that we were given turned into 2 and half months. 2. Nowhere on the order was noted that we have a high ceiling, the same person who did measurement came to install and realized that he needs a large ladder that was in a big truck which was in the accident the day before. 3. He left and came back in a few hours and was able to fit a big ladder into smaller truck. 4. It took him a long time to learn how the system works, basically he read the manual here saying that he never installed that particular system. It took him 3 hours and he still has not finished installing even one skylight. 5. When I called Ed, he tried to blame me for not being sympathetic to the fact that car was in the accident (instead of apologizing to me for NOT rescheduling the appointment and training his technicians on how to install the system that was ordered by his company's representative) , he interrupted me very often and finally said that I acted hostile. Talking about great customer skills from the owner. 5. The installer came again, spent another 3 hours (total of 7 hours for 2 days instead of 2.5 that was promised). When he left, there were screws on the floor, plaster, and the bottle water half filled. Everything was super unprofessional and do yourself a favor to take your business somewhere else.

Beyond…read moreexceptional has been our experience both with the product and with the customer service, before and after market. I wonder if bad reviews are mixing up companies? Thuy at LN store was such a pleasure to work with. I thought I knew what I wanted to shade our beach condo, so went in and got samples. I changed my mind, however, and went back curious as to what was state-of-the-art in window shades. Thuy took lots of time walking me through different transparencies and materials, and sent me off with more samples. Her guidance, fashion sense, and product knowledge helped me zero in on the winner. Roller shades for our condo with no valences to block the view was the decision and the shades look magnificent. I chose Shade Store for several reasons. 1. The quality is by far better than the less expensive blinds stores. We have used both for different reasons in different houses. I wanted the best quality for this project and we were willing to pay. 2. The roller motors on Shade Store blinds last more than twice as long without a charge than the less expensive models. The rollers that we purchased are over stairs and I need a long lasting charge. 3. After market customer service from established national company Shade Store has been beyond helpful. We moved into a house with Shade Store rollers and their telephone customer service was able to look up the entire order, match the color so we could order an additional shade, and connect us with a technician to help me re-program the remote control. On 20 year old blinds!!! Unbelievable. And free. Customers for life. Thanks Thuy for all your help! We'll be back to buy more soon. The Shade Store does have occasional sales if that's of interest. Check their showroom out. Highly Recommended!

    Disappointing Experience - Poor Communication and Delayed Service…read more We spent $$,$$$ on shades from The Shade Store, trusting that their premium pricing would reflect premium service. Unfortunately, that was not the case. After placing our order, we waited patiently for six weeks for installation. When the installer finally arrived, we were surprised to learn that our shades had not even been delivered to our home, let alone made --something we did not know to expect or were informed of any delays. The installer made a call to clarify the issue, and we were informed that our installation would be pushed back another two weeks once's the shades arrived, making it over eight weeks total from order to completion, if we can't get our shades from another vendor sooner. I contacted our representative, Vicky, who assured me that someone from customer service or management would call back to discuss options. No one did. I called again the next day, spoke with the same representative, and again was told someone would reach out. Once again...no one called. For a company that charges among the highest prices in the industry, The Shade Store's lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability is extremely disappointing. Delays can happen, but when they're combined with silence and broken promises, it's hard to justify the premium. I expected a higher standard of service and professionalism.
