I found Mark the Mover on Google...and then checked them out online for reviews. Let me just state up front, this was a little bit of a complicated move. All my belongings were in a storage unit for some time and I needed movers to load from the storage unit into an Old Dominion Moves tractor trailer. I called and spoke with a couple different people getting initial quotes followed by a reservation at a later date. The quotes were practically the same both ways. They were quick to assure me that I didn't need to reserve far in advance which was nice as I was iffy on dates. I reserved them about ten days to two weeks in advance. I had reserved three men to help with the move. They showed up with a spare that I didn't get charged for! YAY! The travel distance was a bit. They came to Rockmart Georgia from the ATL area. They did arrive late by ~45 minutes. Traffic was an issue on 285, but those dudes rocked it loading! They had my trailer loaded in 2 hours flat. The gentlemen were all very friendly and worked diligently and, I was just amazed. Price wise, they were more expensive than other movers, but with respect to the end result, (All my stuff arrived in excellent condition with nothing broken!) it was well worth it. I had spoken with the individual that quoted prices to me about padding material. He suggested alternate places for me to try to locate pads for furniture wrapping. I was unable to do that. So I was extremely pleased to purchase what they brought along with them. The movers were again diligent in asking if I was sure and how many I was comfortable purchasing. I did not see any of the slack or slow moving another reviewer reported. These gentlemen were Grade A+ and I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I was very impressed with our crew from Mike the Movers! Our move was a bit unusual for we were doing a house to house move in the same town, so nothing went into storage. They arrived a few minutes early, did a great job with wrapping and protecting items and putting down protective surface covers in both our old and new homes. They were excellent in moving large items exactly where we wanted them, not just in the correct room. The crew was very friendly and organized. Used for my recent move- the 3 guys from Mark the Mover were friendly, polite, and moved me promptly into my new condo. They arrived closer to the end of the time slot that I was reserved for, which made me a bit nervous b/c I noticed another apartment moving out on the same day and they were starting to monopolize the elevator. Luckily, once they arrived the Mark the Mover guys had my stuff out and packed in the truck in a jiffy and we were done well before the other apartment. The unload at my condo was just as fast and problem-free. Nothing was broken or even scratched. Due to the glowing Yelp reviews and the frequency that I saw Mark the mover trucks at my former apartment complex, I knew they must have been reliable so I didn't even bother getting a quote from another moving company. I know there must have been other companies out there that are cheaper- like the random blank box truck movers the other apartment's owner used- but I think I got my money's worth, most of which was peace of mind during what was a very last minute and stressful move. Outstanding. Our move was without a hitch. The crew worked from the moment their feet hit my floor until the last box was carefully placed in our home. They were incredibly careful with our belongings and treated them as if they were moving their own things. Great care was taken not to damage the new floor and walls at our new home. I would give these guys 6 stars if I could. Four guys and a 26 foot truck showed up at 9am to help my family move about 3 miles to a new house. These guys worked 13 hours STRAIGHT as fast as they could go. Didn't even take a lunch or a dinner. Jebastian, Jebastian's son, Robert and Kenneth were the most amazing movers that I have ever seen. It was a pleasure to meet and know every one of them. I really appreciate the effort they took to take care of everything. We spent the next day barely able to move. This was the first time we hired professional movers (after 7 moves in 8 years - 2 of them cross country) and it was the BEST experience ever. When I called for a quote, Justin was so professional & nice on the phone. We had a challenging move - out of a high-rise, into storage for 2 1/2 weeks, and into our new building. Mark the Mover was able to take care of everything!! Their quote was not the cheapest, but still competitive. Based on the Yelp reviews, we decided to go with it and have absolutely no regrets. By the way - if Justin tells you to use xx number of movers - LISTEN TO HIM!! We tried to scrimp on the move-out and used 3 instead of 4, but saw the light and used 4 on the move-in. So much faster & ended up being cheaper because of the time savings. The movers were on time, courteous, and took very good care of all of our belongings. My husband was out of town during the move, and I was a bit apprehensive about dealing with everything myself. However, the guys were kind & respectful, and I felt completely comfortable. For local moves in the metro-Atlanta area, I don't think it gets much better than the crew from Mark The Mover. They arrived cheerful and ready to work, with enthusiasm and vigor. And they set about the load-up with efficiency and speed, yet with care and respect for our belongings. They blanket-wrap and/or stretch wrap anything that isn't boxed. They are cognizant of neighbors and of our time. At the new house, the first thing they did was roll out walk mats and put down additional blankets to protect the floors. That impressed me! Then they began to unload the truck. Each guy only had to be told once which room was designated "den" or "office" or so forth, and they knew from then on where to put items that were tagged accordingly. They setup beds, connected TV's, and moved furniture around in the rooms as we decided what would work best. They aren't the cheapest movers out there, but remember, you get what you pay for. And with Mark The Mover, there is no worry and no concern. Well worth the couple of extra dollars for that peace of mind on moving day (because, really, you have enough to worry about!). These guys unpacked us from a U-Haul move from NY. Not only were the extremely careful with our belongings they were super friendly and funny. They were also really quick! Setting things up with the sales manager Justin was really great. He set everything up and called to confirm the day before the move and also called early the morning of the move to let us know they were on the way. I've used this company twice for moves and both times have been incredibly pleased by the speed, care, and courtesy I've encountered. From the kind people on the phone who set it all up, to the dispatcher, to the movers themselves, everyone has so far been wonderful! The moving crews have been exceptionally great, especially considering the bad experiences many people seem to have. When there was an issue with any item, it was promptly addressed. They take great care in handling and packing items and working to unload them and place them in each appropriate room. They also seemed to work well together as a team and were all quite personable! These folks go above and beyond the call of duty. I escaped Atlanta in March without taking my things in my apartment, not knowing how I'd deal with them later. Well, the pandemic kept going and my lease in Atlanta was ending in May. So I had to somehow find someone to enter my apartment, pack all my things, and ship them to me in NY. This is a very unique job, so I did a lot of calling and explaining to different companies. After a lot of research, Mark the Mover was the best option. I worked with Paul, who was responsive, personable, and hard working. When I received all my things, they were in perfect shape. When the movers called me early on the day of the move I was NOT ready. In fact, I was knee deep in boxes and tears and feeling completely overwhelmed. They told me not to worry, that they could take care of me. They brought me a cup of coffee and helped me take apart everything that needed to be taken apart, gave me supplies for packing, and help me finish and get out of the old house faster than I could possible imagined. At the new place they were quick and very efficient getting everything off the truck. At my storage building they loaded everything in such a way that I would be able to walk inside and access it easily later. I was VERY happy with the service I received. I could not be more pleased with these guys. From the person who gave me my quote, to the payment process the day of, I never encountered a rude employee or anything less than top notch customer service. The 3 guys were punctual and super hard working. They loaded my 3rd floor apartment (all stairs mind you) and and unloaded my new 2nd floor apartment in under 5 hours. They took great care of my belongings and were just as polite as could be. Money well spent. We had an excellent experience today with the team at Mark the Mover. Several weeks ago I spoke with salesperson Kevin who set us up for the move. We received an estimate and insurance options, all of which they made good on. The team, led by Coleman, arrived a little early and got the job done. They were hard working, had a sense of humor, and were very conscientious with our furniture and belongings. Never seen a crew work so hard hired 5 men and 2 big trucks packed moved and unpacked within 6 hours. These guys dont stop for breaks worked non stop, the foreman is like a drill sargent he see's the job when he arrives, plans, and executes and keeps the work flow fast. Not a single damaged item very very curtious and helpful. Stop looking on Craigslist, and Thumtack for cheap movers end of the day you get what you pay for. Plus they are insured and bonded so maybe I paid a little more brought me peace of mind. read more

We used Mark the Mover last month to move from Northwest Atlanta to Macon GA. I loved the fact that the packers were the same crew as the movers! Charlie was the lead man & did an absolutely awesome job from start to finish! He exuded a "We can handle this...no problem...you don't need to worry about anything...we've got you covered" kind of attitude the minute he walked into my home. Charlie & his crew were extremely polite & professional, as well as strong & capable young men. I couldn't have asked for a better crew! They were fantastic...did a super job! I have fragile furniture, like a mahogany grandfather clock with curved glass, as well as an oversized mahogany glass curio with glass shelves & they handled everything with extreme care...with nothing broken! My only complaint was with the estimated cost vs the actual weight & cost. The estimator was not even close to the actual weight & they didn't give me a guaranteed price which I did get from another company with a guarantee not to exceed a certain amount. I voiced my complaint to one of the owners & he adjusted the price to something more reasonable which I did appreciate. If I ever have to move again, I'll have to get a guaranteed price for the move. I would however, definitely highly recommend Mike the Mover though because of the outstanding service we received from Charlie's crew...they were AMAZING!! Thanks guys! read more

Movers are unprofessional and the company double charges for travel time. They tell you that they take a deposit of 165 dollars to cover travel time before the move. They don't tell you that the travel time they are talking about is going to and from their facility not travel between your old and new home and they broke my TV read more

The guys were nice and professional, but they broke a lot of our things and didn't even tell us about most of them. We weren't compensated either. It was much more expensive than I expected too. We did 75% of the packing ourselves and had most of the boxes we needed. They arrived around 8:30 am, packed and loaded the truck until about 1:30 pm and then finally left the new house around 6 pm. The total cost was $1800, which I felt was much more expensive than I was expecting. read more

This was the first time that I'd hired movers, since my roommate had all the big furniture the last time I moved, and I finally have enough grown-up furniture to warrant actual movers instead of just relying on friends. After the reviews on Yelp, I filled out a few online quotes, but of course, just went with Mark after the glowing reviews. When I called to make my reservation, Justin explained the moving process thoroughly, even though he'd already done so when I called for the quote. The only downside for me was I felt there was a slight upsell when it came to the insurance - I don't have a lot of stuff, and I was only moving 10 miles, but Justin talked so much about insurance and liability that I felt compelled to at least get the $500 deductible worth for my stuff, when the driver said that I probably didn't need it. Other than that, customer service was excellent - they responded promptly to emails and phone calls, and even knew who to forward me to when I was responding to a voicemail, making sure that everything was clearly stated in advance, particularly pricing. They also let me know that they couldn't be responsible for the plasma tv unless we had the original packaging (so we just moved that ourselves), and I greatly appreciated the frankness of that statement. Just my luck, I'd picked the coldest and wettest day of December to move, but the friendly crew arrived on time. I was worried that I hadn't gotten my neighbor to move her car and clear two spots in the townhouse complex, but the driver was a real pro and got the truck backed up in one spot, right up to my front door, so that the ramp was holding the storm door open! The crew was friendly and chatty, but not overly so. One of the guys walked through the house with me to understand what pieces they were taking (since I was moving the small stuff myself), and didn't have to be told again. The driver was a little slow with the paperwork, but you really can't blame him with all the legal stuff that they have to fill out to reduce their liability. Other than that, they worked at a steady pace, but took the time to thoroughly wrap everything, especially since it was raining and they didn't want anything getting wet. They kept offering to take more stuff, but they let me know that they couldn't be responsible for lamps and art work, so I. just put that stuff in my car. They patiently followed me through rainy traffic to the new house, and then moved quickly to put stuff in the right rooms and unwrap everything, even throwing away all the shrink wrap when they were done. This is a review for Atlanta based moving company Mark the Mover, which my wife and I hired in January 2016 to help pack our house and move out-of-state. In case you don't want to read the whole review, I'll say up front my experience with Mark the Mover was outstanding. In fact, I would even use the word "flawless". Thank you Mark the Mover, and particularly Kevin, with whom I had my first discussion on the phone, Brad, the rep that came to our home beforehand and looked at all our stuff and estimated the weight, and Dafton, the crew leader that led the extremely professional, considerate, and hardworking group that packed and moved our stuff to a different state without damaging a single item. I hope the owners of Mark the Mover appreciates how well these individuals represent their business. Prior to our move, I did some online research about what to be aware of when it comes to moving companies and three things stuck in my mind: 1) Beware of the lowest bidders, 2) Beware of companies that will only give you a weight estimate over the phone (since most of the cost is based on that number, they should send someone out to see your stuff), and 3) Go with a company that will give you a "binding estimate". (This means that if the actual weight of your stuff exceeds what they estimate it to be, you will not pay the difference.) Armed with this knowledge, I started calling moving companies in the Atlanta area and was amazed that most of the companies I spoke with acted as if they'd never heard the term "binding estimate" and when I pressed them on wanting a guaranteed maximum price in writing, most of them eventually just said "no, we don't do that". There were a few exceptions and (after reading their reviews and checking them out on the Secretary of State website) I had three companies send people to our house to look at our stuff and give me quotes. After meeting the three reps I went with Mark the Mover. When the packing and moving days arrived, I met Dafton, the crew leader that led the highly competent and professional crew that packed, inventoried, and moved our stuff. As I watched them that day, they really were treating our things as carefully (or even more carefully) than we do. In addition, they were highly respectful and courteous to me and to each other and they worked VERY very hard. When everything was loaded on the truck, my wife and I went with them out of curiosity to see what it all weighed. Mark the Mover had estimated 7,500 pounds and it turned out that our stuff actually weighed 7900 pounds. It was pretty amazing to me that Brad, the MtM rep, was able to estimate the weight of all our stuff to within about 5% of the actual weight just by looking at it! And Mark the Mover honored their binding estimate with me with no problem at all and I wasn't asked to pay for the additional weight. The next morning, all our stuff was delivered to our new place (in a different state) where it was again treated very carefully as it was transferred from the truck to our new home. That was over a month ago; I wanted to wait until we'd had time to unpack things before writing this review. Amazingly, we never found one single item broken, or damaged in any way. In summary, all the glowing reviews I'd read about Mark the Mover before hiring them turned out to be true. They turned the difficult process of moving into a comfortable and hassle-free experience for us. In retrospect, they were: 1) highly competent (everything happened on time, weight was estimated within 5%, and nothing at all was damaged), 2) honest (everything I was told both verbally and in writing was honored), and 3) Professional and courteous (it was actually a pleasure meeting all of them). This was my first time using a moving company and I was very hesitant on who to use. You hear crazy stories about movers being sketchy all the time. I decided to use Mark the Mover because of all the great reviews and also one my parents' neighbor had a great experience with them. We were buying and selling our house all in one day so we needed to have our stuff moved out on one day and moved in the next day. They were able to move all of our stuff and keep it on a truck for the next day. They were very professional quick, and experienced. We did not have a single broken item!!!! Though I didn't research personally any other moving companies and just called Mark based on the Yelp reviews (thanks guys!) it sounds like in comparison to other companies, Mark and Co really have their act together. Though I personally wasn't expecting anything less since I'd never dealt with a moving company before, I can echo the sentiments of others saying that the service was solid. There was a mix up with my reservation date and them being open when I was scheduled, however, which was frustrating and ended up costing me extra money (not with Mark but in general) and some calls rearranging my moving schedule. My husband and I have moved from Ohio to Texas, Texas to Georgia and now Midtown to Edgewood. I certainly wish I had Mark the Mover for my earlier moves as these guys are truly the best. They came well-prepared with enough blankets, plastic wrap and ties to cover all our furniture and more. Further, they made sure not to leave dirty footprints and used cardboard to protect the walls and stairs. I have never seen such efficiency and attention to detail from movers in my entire life.
