Very friendly staff. But I'm afraid almost everything we purchased this morning was inedibly stale. We got a chocolate glazed donut, which was as expected. But we bought two different conches, some sort of sweet bread, and a piece of chocolate cake. The chocolate cake held up better than the sweet buns, but just about everything ended up in the trash. Maybe we shouldn't have gone on a Sunday. If you're going to give them a shot, do it on a weekday.

Local owned and operated, fresh, really reasonably priced baked goods. Homeade bollilos i use them to make bomb subs and torta sandwiches, in house made tamales. My go to for traditional Mexican pastries also, very good chocoflan and tres leches too. They accept debit and credit, owner and staff are welcoming and delightful.

Damn.. someone else reviewed this place already. Well just read hers, Patricia's. Its a fcukin' awesome bakery. You can get a butt load of baked goods for CHEAP. Grab a basket, a pair of tongs and walk around "going to town" on everything. Its HOT as hell inside, obviously because its a bakery. Its 24/7 which is self explanatory. AND!! they've got CHURROS! for FIFTY CENTS! Anytime of the day!. Its friggin' marvelous!

I was craving some late-night sweets and was elated to discover this place so close to my house! I went at 2 am and the variety of options and freshness of their baked goods was so impressive given the late hour. Everything I tried tasted amazing. The donuts were fluffy and soft with sweet, delicious icing. The danish had wonderful soft dough with great tasting cheese filling and strawberry jam. The strawberry pocket was flaky and had similar tasking strawberry jam as the danish. If you want something savory, their spinach croissant was absolutely delectable. I popped it in the microwave for a few seconds and it made it even more delicious. The prices were also insanely cheap for how good everything tasted. I cannot believe I haven't discovered this place earlier! I highly recommend everyone try this place!!

Dear Markellos, You're the pillar of my beloved neighborhood, Albany Park, which I'm proud to call home. Your dedication to produce amazing pastries, 24/7, is my elixir for my ongoing insomnia. Why are you so awesome? Tell me why, Markellos! You fed me and hubby's cousin for $6.80. What a pastry heaven that we've just experienced! While I'm not proficient with some of the names of Mexican bread, I'm confident that no matter what I've picked, it will be delicious without a doubt. I will be back like a terminator, Markellos. See ya soon... P.S. We had six (6) items for $6.80 after tax. I'm good now for the morning. Bring cash as it's a cash-only establishment.

If you have any experience at a Mexican bakery this place is the holy grail! For those that don't know you take a basket and tongs and have endless choices of sweet treats to choose from! Their items are super fresh and I got two donuts right from the oven they were amazing! Prices are cheaper than any bakery around for the quality. I love supporting my local businesses.

We got two cupcakes to share -- the purple velvet and the main squeeze. The purple velvet is ube butter cake, ube mousse, and ube cake crumbs. The ube flavor is both sweet and nutty and the mousse topping was light and delicious. The main squeeze is lemon cake filled with lemon curd, cream cheese frosting, and a buttercream lemon on top. Both were incredible, but my favorite was the lemon! I loved that the lemon flavor was light, and the cream cheese frosting balanced it out really nicely. The space is so cute inside! It's also a lot larger than I was expecting. We grabbed a seat at one of the tables inside to enjoy our treats. I will definitely be back with my toddler for a cupcake date soon!

The line moved fairly quickly, I think we got seated at 9:20! Even though the wait was pretty diabolical, the brunch was absolutely worth it. I actually don't like truffle or croissant but this was flaky, and the rock sugar (I think that's what it is?) on top is so addicting. the cream truffle filling was flavorful but not overpowering -- longanisa egg sandwich + hashbrown: 7/10 just wasn't a standout for me -- mushroom adobo: 8/10 it was flavorful - I would order again but not sure it's worth almost $20 for drinks, we both got the hot yam but my boyfriend got it iced and I got it hot -- it tasted better iced but it was still lacking in ube flavor. the coffee also didn't taste strong enough for me personally honestly I really wanted to like this place more but for almost $100 for everything and the long wait, I expected at least half of the items to be perfect but I felt like only the truffle croissant felt like a 10/10 for me I will say the staff was very sweet though -- maybe it's a better experience dining in, so I think next time I will wake up early to eat inside and hopefully be able to give a higher rating :-)

I was skeptical at first because it is a local chain, rather than a singular location. However, it lived up to the hype. Service: it was extremely busy when we came in. The line was almost out the door. They have a system in place for ordering and seating so it worked well and fast given how busy they were. We didn't have any questions on where to order or where to stand when waiting for a seat. The staff were friendly and helped us find a spot to sit at. Ambiance: classic cafe in a city. Loud chatter, but it's a vibe. Very colorful and fun interior with cool textural elements. We had a seat that was facing the street so it was fun to people watch as we sipped and ate. Food: amazing breakfast selection! We ordered the morning sandwich and barbacoa bowl. The morning sandwich had THICK scrambled eggs which were super soft and tasty. I could've used more salsa verde on it. The bread was barely toasted. I'd rate the sandwich a 3.8/5. It got the job done. The barbacoa bowl was "really good" according to my fiancé. A great source of protein, fresh ingredients, nice flavor, and great portions. He would rate it a 5/5. Coffee: I am a coffee snob so I am quite harsh when it comes to reviewing it. Their machine is a cute La Marzocco. Appropriate sized "for-here" glasses according to the drinks. Plus, they were really cute. Wide variety of drink selection from your standards to the more girly-drinks (if there is such a thing). We ordered a cappuccino and small hot mocha. Latte art 4.5/5, temperature 5/5, flavor 4/5. The espresso didn't stand out to me, very standard flavor profile. However, the chocolate in the mocha was delicious. It's more of a rich, dark chocolate. Nice thin layer of foam. Would recommend to try at least once when you're in Chicago! Glad to have stopped in.

The croissant wasn't filled, it just had pistachio cream on the top with a couple of nuts. I would order the shaksouka pastry again. The egg was cooked well, and the tomato was very good. We visited around noon on a Sunday, and after reading the reviews here, I wasn't optimistic there would be many pastries left. Maybe I should play the lottery, because luckily there was no line and a pretty good selection of pastries left. The staff were super friendly and there were so many unique flavors of baked goods. We decided to split several and opted for the blueberry cloud cookie, chai cinnamon roll, banana pudding croissant, espresso cornflake cookie, and potato focaccia. The shop was more of a small take-out operation, so we took the pastries to a nearby park to eat. Everything was absolutely divine! The group favorite was the focaccia- the creamy potatoes and cheese brought a rich flavor that was perfectly balanced by the fluffy bread. The chai roll was perfectly soft and delicately spiced, completed with that soft cream cheese frosting and gooey center we all like to see. My personal favorite was the banana pudding croissant- the dough was so crispy that I'm pretty sure others could hear the bite, and there was a generous amount of filling with fresh bananas and visible vanilla beans in the whipped cream. The espresso cookie was super soft- while I couldn't taste the espresso very clearly, I absolutely *loved* the caramel-coated cornflakes topped with sea salt. Super unique and would definitely order again. Despite their decadent appearances, none of the pastries were too sweet. Already plotting a return visit and can't recommend this shop enough!
