Our lunch at Marker Five was excellent. We decided to venture to Tilghman Island, which is south and west of St. Michaels and Easton. It's well worth the extra 15 minute drive past St. Michaels. The restaurant is located at Knapps Narrows Bridge. Great AC inside on these hot days and a lovely covered patio adjacent to the marina where you can watch the boats. Our server Stacey was terrific. Finally, the food: EXCELLENT. We ordered the Roast beef sandwich and side of Caesar salad (which was huge! I cannot imagine how large the regular main course salad must be!) and the chicken sandwich was considered one of the best ever. Bottom Line: Entertaining views and great service but the menu options were disappointing. My husband and I went to Marker Five on a Saturday in early October. Knowing that crabs are still in season and oysters are coming into their prime, I had visions of enjoying some fresh, local seafood. But unfortunately Marker 5 was out of crab cakes, oysters, fish of the day, wahoo, pork belly, the strawberry and grape salad, and one or two other things. With that, we effectively discarded the normal menu and turned our attention to the wood fired pizza oven menu. I got the buffalo chicken pizza and my husband had a classic pepperoni pizza. The pizza was good but certainly wasn't the fresh Chesapeake Bay seafood we were craving. The highlights of our experience were the views and the service. We enjoyed watching a fishing charter clean their catch and their boat. We also watched the draw bridge go up about five times. We even got to witness the abnormally high tide washing over the pier. My husband and I went here on a recommendation of a server in St Michael's. When we were seated we were ask not to make an substitution or request to our order because they were short staffed in the back, which we TOTALLY understand both having worked customer service/restaurant jobs! But this doesn't excuse our experience. We ordered our food: the Mexican street corn, a white pizza and a my husband ordered a beer. I specifically stated to the waiter we were planning on sharing these items, first the corn was on the cob (...why he didn't eat something when I told him we were sharing it?! I don't know, who shares a cob of corn) also the single cob was $8! The pizza that came out was by far the worst pizza I have had in a long time. The cheese was not melted and the crust was somehow soggy and burn at the same time. We ate it because we were starving, but man I am disappointed. $40 meal I will not be having again. read more

I think the food here was solid. My husband got a roasted half chicken that was very good, served with fries and a vegetable mix with peppers and mushrooms. I didn't think the veggies made sense with the dish overall but it was good. I had mahi mahi that was good, didn't blow my socks off, but good for the $24 price point. We also shared a piece of pie to top it all off. The wait staff was nice, I did run out of water once, but that can be forgiven. They did have a nice pay at the table app on the servers iPads so there wasn't any wait once we got the check. I thought that was great since I hate waiting to leave once I've put the money out. read more

My weekend's quest for a decent crab cake (my go to place was closed) still hasn't hit pay dirt. Marker Five's was OK - all chopped, no lump, nicely cooked, but not one I'd go out of my way to order again. Having said that: the corn cake it was served on was very tasty, and the red cabbage cooked veggie mix served as the side was surprisingly good. On the plus side: great beer selection, wonderful service, very nice decor, and dockside patio seating. I will definitely come back - but next time, I'll order the really tasty looking and smelling smoked ribs. read more

This was such a neat little place. I was visiting MD with a friend, nearing the end if our cross country road trip and we decided to stay a couple days nearby. We ended up eating here with an outside table. For lunch time, thete was no waiting. We both got their crabcake sandwich. It was sooo gooood. Every single time here it's always a long wait for the food. Never a manager,, and bad service is the norm. It's a nice place but the place needs a floor manager badly. All wait staff run around like maniacs,, you dont get your napkin and silverware generally for several minutes after the meal and more often than not the food is not hot or remotely warm. Get a heat lamp,,, an expediter/ manager. Empty drinks and crazy servers is the norm,,, everyone slow down group your service staffs table ,, train them,,, what a dining experience is and slow down and think and get the orders right,,,, the person seating should get the napkins and silverware on the table. Also they could take the drink order,,,, but for the stupid point of sale system the servers carry which slows the process. Its bedlum at this place,,, and 2 3 years after they open you would think someone would figure it out. It's a rudderless ship,,, staff has no training no manners and poor service skills. If the owner is in the kitchen,,, get someone in the kitchen and run the floor it's a nightmare. Food is fair but apparently the chef has never cooked a cheeseburger before.. a piece of cold cheese not melted on the burger is the norm here,,, and generally past Friday night it takes longer to recite what they are out of than what they have.. Also after about 7 they refuse to give you outside seating when several tables are open,,, Telling you they are reserved. And low and behold the nice outside deck empties out all the while no one comes and you are inside on a beautiful night with sun directly in your eyes. I wanna love this place but you have to give me a reason,,,,, competent caring staff ,,, hot food and a floor manager would be a hell of a start. Incredible water views. Farm to table food... the restaurants does not have a freezer so their most popular dishes.. ribs, crab cakes are sometimes gone fast get their early! Or call and reserve. Real wood fired pizza that is unbelievable. If the peach and arugula (seasonal, they have all the standards pepperoni my fave and margarita and cheese etc..) order it... it's an amazing bucket list pizza that will wow your tastebuds. This restaurant is situated on the water on Tilman Island. It is beautiful...the boats are just steps away from the tables. Our server was friendly and helpful. We had the crab soup, which was good. The highlight of our meal was the archini...which are fried cheesy risotto balls. They were amazing! I would drive an hour and a half for this appetizer...they were that good!! We also had the smoked pulled pork sandwich and the wedge salad with grilled chicken. This is a great lunch spot on the water. Give it a try!! read more

This spot was recommended by the proprietors at the B&B on the island and it did not disappoint. Very creative flavors, very well balanced and prepared and the cost was very reasonable. When compared with the upscale St Michaels crowd of Main Street spots it's worth the scenic drive to the town of Tilghman to make new discoveries. So many things to say... I'll start with the service. Upon arrival, I asked for a water and a juice for my toddler, who had been out on the water and was getting cranky. We were one of two tables in the restaurant and I thought we'd have great service. Well, ten minutes pass by and still no juice. So we ask the hostess who walked by again, and still no juice. By this time, my daughter is drinking my water bottle. By the end of the meal, after asking two more times, we still had no juice. When I brought it up to the server, I was told, "Well, I didn't charge you for it." Not even an apology. They also forgot our fries, brought me a salad instead, and forgot to even run my daughter's food. They did bring us extra fries to make up for it, so that was good, but we were pretty much done eating by the time her food came out. Next issue, the crab cake sandwich was $20, for one small crab cake and a pretty boring bun. The coleslaw was the highlight of the meal, but $17 would have been a better price point for a lunch sandwich. If you are going to spend $60 bucks for lunch, recommend going across the bridge. read more

Stopped by based on Yelp reviews during a quick tour through Tilghman Island. All we had was the Maryland Crab Soup, but it was fabulous. Spicey, so you have to be okay with that, but delicious, and sufficient for the price. Beautiful views of the harbour under the bridge. read more

Great views and even better staff. We stayed a weekend and enjoyed the menu options at Marker 5. We ate at the outside bar and enjoyed meeting Kathy and Danielle. Our service was excellent and the food, fire roasted veggie pizza, pulled pork nachos... soooo good. We washed our food down with libations concocted by Kathy and Danielle. So friendly and accommodating. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Closes early (IMO) and gets crowded for sunsets. Get a seat before 7:00. We became instant fans. This place has always been exceptional. We've eaten here several times and the service is always good and the food is superb. You can also bring your dog and sit on the patio, a bonus for me. Highly recommend the pork chop, consistently excellent. The scallops are unbelievable. So fresh and on a bed of sweet potatoes, succotash and bacon. Food is exceptional and the staff is friendly and helpful! Absolutely beautiful view of the narrows and GREAT drinks! I live local and frequent this restaurant and am never disappointed. I'd recommend the shaved ribeye sandwich or the crab cakes, both are always delicious. Their smoked ribs are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Call ahead to reserve a rack of them, it's 1000% worth it. Other items on their menu change pretty frequently based on what's locally available, so it's best to call ahead if you're looking for specific fish or dessert. Either way, their food is awesome and I recommend this place to anybody visiting St. Michaels or Tilghman Island, you won't regret it! read more
