Thank you for being there when I ran out of dining dollars because the market prices are crazy. Overall this is safe option when your tummy is grumbling as they serve many classic american foods that you can't go wrong with. This means alot of potatos, chicken breasts, and Caesar salads. TL:DR - The meats at Savor is almost always overcooked and/or dry because they need to keep a safe temperature, meaning no medium cooked steaks - Sizzle is actually not bad at all. They have good food. - Sushi by Gusto is a good quick fix for my sushi cravings. I probably wouldn't eat it "just because." - The convience store is overpriced, so unless you are able to go to an actual store or if you have dining dollars, your money can be better saved elsewhere. - This whole market is worked by students, so do not expect the best service or attitudes. --------------------------------------------------- I really love the Market at Glen Mor because of its convenience. It has most things that a student on-campus needs without having to leave campus. They have Starbucks (which I will review in its own page), groceries, and three different options for food; Savor, Sizzle, and Sushi by Gustos. Savor is a cafeteria-style service where you have the option of choosing 1 side + 1 entree, or 2 sides + 1 entree. One of the negatives of Savor is that they need to cook their food to an above-desired temperature, meaning that the salmon, tri tip, pork, etc are all overcooked. I wouldn't pay for this food if I didn't have the option to get this food with a meal swipe. I won't go too into detail on the students who work their since they're constantly changing, but sometimes I get students who always smiles and genuinely wishes me a good day, which is a plus. The other restaurant that is offered is called Sizzle. I actually enjoys Sizzle a lot! If you are in the area for lunch, definitely try out the Salmon burger, steak quesadilla, mushroom burger, or the caprese sandwich. They also have an option called Sushi By Gusto. Yes, it is pretty weird buying sushi on campus, but I definitely like their sushi enough for it to satisfy my late night sushi cravings. The older gentleman who makes the sushi is also very friendly. If I want to add crispy onion flakes or eel sauce, I ask him, and he doesn't mind adding it on top. He hands it back with a smile as well. The convenience store part of The Market has a lot of basic items you might need like honey, tissues, frozen food, drinks, etc. Do know that this store is very overpriced, but for many first years who have dining dollars, it is totally fine. One of the downfalls of The Market is that it is primarily students who work. I totally get that they add the stress of a part-time job on top of their studies. However, the "IDGAF" attitude a lot of them show, or the lack of knowledge of the place they work at can be pretty stressful for the customer's side as well. I wish this place was around a couple years ago when I was in my first year of college. It would have been so much more convenient to get food and groceries. On one side there's a mini convenience store from your organics to candies and ice cream. They have some toiletries here so it's nice if you're looking for something quickly for your dorm or apartment. However, the awesome part is that they have home style meals to go! You can pick and choose entrees, salads, and or sides to make a mini meal and I have to say, the food is pretty on point. Their pork and beef dishes are just heaven and I love that they have a variety of fruit and salad options. They also just added agua fresca drink options so those are nice if you're feeling for some juice or something sweet. Ordered the tri-tip with two sides: 1. Steamed zucchini and squash 2. Mixed fruit The meal came with Hawaiian roll, butter and a beverage (I got Lipton citrus green tea) The tri-tips are not too dry surprisingly-I enjoy eating them. Hawaiian bread roll is sweet and yummy goes well with the butter (butter was cold so it was hard to spread it on the roll) Mixed fruit includes berries, melons and pineapples-refreshing Glen Mor is better than dining hall, portion is reasonable and the value is good as well! read more

Super convenient if you live on campus. There are two lines, the main line is for Savor and the other is for Sizzle. For a meal swipe at Savor, you can get an entree and two sides (hot or cold) plus a drink. Bread and butter is optional. The vegetarian entree can sometimes look like a side so be careful about what you're getting. Lines can get long but they usually serve you pretty fast. They have lids if you want to take it to go. If they run out of utensils or condiments (which happens a lot), tell the cashier and they'll put more out. Menu is posted online so just check what they have on that day. Sometimes what they offer will differ from the menu so just walk up and look if you're unsure. Generally the food is the same as the dining hall, but I think it's better here sometimes. You get a scoop of this - and a scoop of that - how much you get depends on how generous the student workers are. If a menu item is popular, it usually runs out fast so you might have to stand on the side and wait for them to replace it or just settle for something else. You can pay with credit card, Bearbucks, and guest swipes as well. One meal is about $10, so it's a poor value unless you have meal swipes. Since the dining hall is closed at 8:30, this is a good place to come if you want to use your meal swipe later at night. But the same rule of one meal swipe per meal time applies. So let's say you use a meal swipe at the dining hall for lunch (10:30 am - 2:30 p.m.), then you can't use one at the Market within the same meal time and vice-versa. read more

I've eaten from all 3 of the areas here - the Sushi with Gusto, fast food, and Savor. The sushi was actually pretty impressive considering it's in Riverside. The make it right there and the fish is fresh. I think it's the best option of the 3. The fast food is alright, I had a chicken burger and it was fine (but you're better off going to Habit for a burger on campus). At Savor the salads were pretty good but skip the hot stuff - the meat and veg are not great. read more

Exceptionally disappointed... There are two lines inside. One is called Sizzle and the other Savor. Savor is disappointing as the chicken is always red and I dont know how they pump out so many chicken breasts and thighs in one day. In all honesty, the chicken doesnt have any taste and is served all days througout the week. The only thing they changes for chicken is the name tag (is this a joke?). Despite all these names, the chicken looks exactly the same (??). Dont bother wasting around 10 dollars here; they have low quality service, barely give any portions, and have unusual sides that probably came out a can. What is worse is that I saw the chicken being mishandled in the kitchen as I was waiting for my food. Clearly disgusted. As for the Sizzle lines, everything is overpriced. $6 for a mushroom burger that is mostly cold is TOTALLY not worth it. You can just walk down the street and get Habit Burger for nearly half the price, and their quality is better. The soups at Sizzle are not worth the money as well as the other entrees. Total ripoff. What can I say? It's an on-campus shop, like a grocery store, so it's definitely overpriced. If you're a student paying for a meal plan, you got your Bear Bucks. But otherwise there's no real reason to shop here thinking it's a great deal. The University Village Market is about a quarter mile east of here and they'll sell most of the snacks and drinks there for a better price. It's a good place though, the Market. Come here if you're looking for something for home, or your dorm at UCR. You'll see people of many ages here dining from the restaurant or Starbucks, or students shopping for school supplies and cooking ware. From my experience Market at Glen More is super convenient and a blessing to have on campus! The only thing I'm worried about is the prices--many products sold here are not bargain priced, and come from more expensive brands, possibly to promote environmentally friendly shopping. So expect to pay about $4 for a single roll of paper towels. All in all, this is a very nice place to come to for anything you need to buy on the go! read more

Nice little convenient store next to Starbucks on campus. Has snacks, drinks, toiletries available and is open very late - 2am. Prices are higher than a grocery store but that's due to the convenience factor. Overall, pretty good. read more

It's pretty okay. I wish they had a bit more variety in the market... it's pretty much just a 7/11, but it's convenient. The food at the restaurants is pretty decent and the Starbucks is a Starbucks... pretty much what you'd expect. Good place to study though gets pretty crowded. LIKE: -very friendly and great service. -at Sizzle, they missed up my first order, but quickly realized and fixed it, by re-firing a new order. At the end, I had to wait a bit longer, but was happy to find out I got my original order and get to keep the order they messed up on. DISLIKE: -Like all the c-stores at UCR, most of the price tags in the fridge and some of the price tags on the shelves are misplace, missing, or out-dated. -Prices are wildly over priced, compare to Stater Brothers, Food4Less, or Ralphs. Honestly, it's very mediocre.. apart from the Starbucks there's not much variety in terms of food. The food itself is very bland, I would only come here if it's my last resort. I go here pretty often since it is down the street from my school. It is extremely convenient! There is a Starbucks, which is nice. The snack area has a variety of foods that you would find in any gas station. The kitchen has warm food, but I don't order from here very often. The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because there is not a lot of seating. My friends and I come here to study sometimes but there is always a struggle to get a seat. read more
