We were looking for a diner type dinner, we decided to try someplace new to us. We landed on Marko's Cozy Diner, glad we did, what a nice experience. It is a cozy place, with a huge menu of options and nice people working there. I was craving a chicken Greek salad, my boyfriend was craving a burger. The chicken Greek salad was so fresh and loaded with marinated chicken, the pita was really nicely grilled, too. The burger was cooked well, with fresh veggies, he assumed it was hand pattied burger. The fries were the coated type and a large portion. He also wanted to try a coney there, the sauce had a unique flavor. He was so full he couldn't finish what he ordered. Our server and the owners were so nice. The son of the owner chatted us up, and introduced us to his Dad. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We noticed that they served beer and the dessert case was very enticing, we were told the pies and cakes were from Blazo's. I'd like to try a piece of chocolate cake next time! The beef sandwich just OK. Typical diner type beef sandwich. I would not get it again. The beef was just ok, a little chewy, and the mashed potatoes could have been instant? I was told I could sit anywhere so I chose the bar bc it has seats with backs and Im by myself so I didn't want to take up space at a booth. Also beer (stella, corona, modelo, labat, coors, budweiser, bud light, & michelob) & wine (sutter home) are sold. When ordering the corned beef hash, you have the option of fresh corned beef or canned! That was a tough decision. lol. I ordered a side of french toast & was asked if I wanted it after or at the same time. That's interesting to treat it as a breakfast dessert. I enjoyed my meal. My order containing a loose burger which was absolutely filling with all the goodies of perfectly well seasoning, chili, mustard and onions was delicious ly the best I've ever eaten!! I had there perfectly well-made crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside French fries. The home-made banana cake was totally superb not too sweet and very moist indeed! Ordered dinner through the drive thru. Ordering was fast. Wait was not bad. Asked for a copy of the receipt since it wasn't provided. Noticed a W charge on the bill while waiting for food to be brought out and thought it was water. Called the restaurant as we didn't order water and it's an up-charge due to wing shortage. $8.95 for 6 wing dings is a bit steep. They aren't even whole wings. It's equivalent to 3 whole wings. Food was already ordered and family was hungry. Coney dog was crammed into a box like the wings (never have I seen this before versus a standard container for a hot dog). It was not made correctly as we clearly asked for onions and ketchup only. They were closing so it wasn't time to go back to have it remade. Vegetarian omelette was full of vegetables, but had no taste to it (missing seasoning). I wouldn't go back again. No notification of an up-charge when ordering and food not being correct was a turn off. read more

I now see why there is always a GroupOn for this place. Place did not follow COVID safety distance rules. Food was just OKAY. Service is what helped fix the experience. I can't have a lot of carbs due to diabetes and generally sub my breakfast hash browns with Cottage cheese. They were out of cottage cheese- bummer,But let me have tomato slices with my Corned Beef Omelette then. The tomatos served were way past their prime, they had definitely sat at the bottom of the prep bin for too long that they smelled and we're clearly translucent. They tried to hide it under a SLIGHTLY fresher piece. My nose knew it was hiding before my eyes did. I asked the waitress for a plate to remove them and she obliged, noticing the nasty Tomato. She asked if I wanted more, I told her no because at this point tomato's were ruined for me. However a few moments later she sat down a plate of fresh tomatoes, apologized and said she went and cut them herself- and they were much better and clearly a fresh tomato. I was very appreciative. However the cook should have known better. My sister's medium steak was well done, her over easy eggs were over medium. My mother's breakfast was also lackluster. If it hadn't been for the waitress trying to fix the cook screw up this would have been a 2. Regardless, We won't be back. read more

The food here is solid. A group of us stopped in for a quick lunch and everyone enjoyed their food. I had the super melt which was pretty darn tasty and they give you enough fries that you could not possibly eat them all unless you were a serious glutton. The wait staff can be very busy but will attend to you and make sure you are taken care of, so no worries there. They have fried clams which are difficult for me to find nowadays. They were small but tasty and not too chewy. Veggie stir fry contained a lot of broccoli which is must for me with a nice sweet-ish sauce. For our take out they included bread and butter and rice pudding (jello also an option). Also at least a dozen breakfast choices like corned beef and hash, french toast, an italian sausage breakfast, and pork chop and eggs. I came through the drive thru the "cook" cashed my order out he wore greasy black gloves. I initially thought he would change his gloves after accepting my cash and walkin away from the window. Instead he walked over grabbed a metal bowel grabbed an egg cracked them and began to start whisking them I got his attention and told him I wanted to cancel my order. He responded "what" I explained that it wasn't sanitary to cook food after he just took money and money is dirty. He became furious yelling saying that I'm nasty tossed my money to me. This Chicken Alfredo is so good!! Just right seasoning-not salty but has great flavor. I have been eating salads all week but today I lucked up and they had it!! Thank you Markos! I ordered a carry out here today. Everything was wonderful! They have an easy drive thru for ordering. I ordered a chicken pita. The pita was filled with sliced thin, grilled chicken and a lot of it. I asked for Greek dressing, because they have the best pink Greek dressing. I also ordered a bowl of Greek dressing, because it is the best! My daughter wanted chicken strips and she said they were awesome. My daughter loved the fries . Everything was so good. I'll probably go back later this week. Staff is always super nice. The "Cozy" caught my attention when looking for an independent for breakfast on the west side of the city. You don't often see the word "cozy" in a restaurant's name but here it was in living color near the cross streets of Inkster and Plymouth Rd. in what I believe is Redford, a near-in Western suburb of the Motor City. It's a small place, I guess you could call it "cozy" as I slid into an empty booth and looked around. I thought it was odd that they still had the name of the former establishment (xyz Coney Island) on a part of the booth I was sitting in. I noticed that the former restaurant name was covered up with a decal with the Marco name and logo on it in the other booths. Noting that Marco's specializes in corned beef and ham, I decided to jump for the Corned Beef Omelette (soft) with a stack of Blueberry Pancakes. The Omelette came just as I'd ordered it...soft and stuffed to the brim with lean, juicy corned beef along with your grilled onions & peppers, tomato and American cheese. Bump this Yelp rating up to 4 stars like right now! The cakes were also solid...a little more dense than I prefer, yet pretty decent. The only drawback of the whole experience was the wait I had to endure to get my coffee cup refilled. Overall, a "cozy" 4-star experience on the West side. read more

Great food and good service. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I had chicken fingers, which were good, but their fries are fantastic. The chicken noodle soup was also very good. My friend got the veggie platter and it was also very good. My only issue was my diet coke tasted off. Not bad (I had two) but their mix seemed off a tad. No biggie as it happens. The only other issues was a loud obnoxious brat at the next table (he was with his grandma...if I talked to my grandma the way he did, she would have showed me the error of my ways...then my mom would also). But I can't hold that against the place. The call it Marko's Cozy Diner. Cozy is right. This place is small and a tad cramped, but they do also have a drive thru, so I can get stuff on the go. During the times we're living in, and with a recent move, we didn't know the area's restaurants. We took a chance ordering from Marko's Cozy Diner through Grubhub and we are so glad we did!! Our first order (breakfast) arrived promptly and was SO GOOD! We've since ordered lunch and dinner, which didn't disappoint! Hubby loved the Reuben sandwich and the coleslaw that came with it was stellar! His mushroom hamburger was beyond delicious on another order. I really like this place but BE WARNED. There is a hostess/carryout young lady that doesn't put everything in your carryout. I tipped $5.00 only to go back in and ask for half my stuff. I heard the manager asking her in the back to please ensure everything was in there next time (as he should) but her response seemed very deflective. The food is good though. I think it is worth it to upgrade and get the soup/salad and small couple bites of sweet rice. Inflation and this administration has driven up the prices though so be sure to come for good food not a low cost savings. This place has great food which is why I ordered from them. I asked the lady on the phone if I should just pull thru the the drive thru and she said yes. I pulled up 10 minutes later, pulled up to the window and wait 15 minutes before I left. Every single person working in that place looked at me and not a single person came to the window or even acknowledged me. I completely understand short staffed but they should have at least held a finger and tell me just a minute. Even better come to the window and take my name. I ordered a salad, not anything crazy. We placed our order on a Sunday afternoon. The Waitress was pleasant enough. Sodas were watered down significantly. Almost no carbonation. I exchanged it for lemonade. No problem. However, one of the members of my party orders cheese sticks. Unfortunately, the cheese wasn't melted inside. She also ordered fried fish and when she broke the fish, we could all smell ammonia. She called the waitress over to have it removed. Unfortunately, the cook felt compelled to come to our table and say she probably just wasn't in the mood for fish. He insisted the fish was fresh and he had just changed the oil. He seemed really offended that she didn't want the fish that we all could smell. He said the wait staff was offended because they work hard. Now, I'm not sure what his wait staff has to do with the freshness of the fish but, his behavior was totally unnecessary. Ordered dinner from Marko's. First time eating here. I had a Coney Island, onion rings and coconut cream pie. Everything tasted great and homemade. The coney chili was made with fresh ground beef and spiced just right. The hot dog had a little snap to it and just the right amount of mustard and onions. The onion rings were fried to perfection.
