Bonfire was not the first choice for dinner last night. We were headed to another restaurant but…read morethat place had an hour and a half wait. We were hungry so we decided on Bonfire. When we arrived at Bonfire me and my date were the only ones there. I have no idea how long it had been open but it looked brand new. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I loved the lighting fixtures and the design of the seating area. There was also a dj that added to the atmosphere. Bonfire being a Jamaican restaurant I thought it apt to order the Jerk Chicken. You get 2 sides with the entree. I ordered the mac and cheese and french fries. My date got the catfish along with the potato salad and french fries. I was eager to dig in when the food came back. First off the fries were very crisp and fried to perfection. The mac and cheese was delicious. It was some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a long time. The jerk chicken was absolutely amazing. It came with the jerk sauce on the side. Honestly, I really didn't need it. The chicken had a delicious smoked flavor. It tasted like chicken you'd eat at a summer bbq. I can not say enough about the jerk chicken. I tasted the catfish my date ordered and it was really good too. I really would love to come back here and try more things.

The food here is very good and you'll get flavors that you just won't find elsewhere, but the price…read moreis ridiculous. They charge $4 for drinks like tea, and I had to ask for a refill despite it being obviously empty. I had jerk chicken ($16.75) and it was very flavorful and tender, but they hack up a leg and thigh with a cleaver so you have to pick through a lot of bone and there wasn't all that much meat. For the sides I had potato salad which looked like it came from a plastic tub at the grocery store, but the plantains were very good. Total of everything plus a drink and tip was over $26 - for lunch! Overall, I don't think it's worth the price. The inside was very nice and clean but the place was pretty empty at noon on a weekday.

If you know me, you know whatever city I'm in, I gotta find Jamaican food. Mobile is no different…read more Pulled up to M&T American Jamaican Grill. I was initially in my feelings because they had a few "ain't gots" which is always annoying. But the customer service was legit. She was super cool. The jerk was ok, not spicy tho, the rice & peas were initially mid until..... she slid me a side of that ridiculous oxtail gravy. They should be selling that stuff by the gallon!!! Surprisingly the mac & cheese wasn't trash like most Jamaican restaurants. If you want Oxtails or Jerk that isn't spicy, pull up to M & T #Travel #Foodie #Blackfoodietravels #mrnoveggies #itravelforfood #Alabama #Mobile #Jamaican #Jerk #oxtails #Bentongang

M&T American Jamaican Grill just opened this week, and I am so glad that I got to try it. I got…read morethe Jamaican patty (meat pie) and the lunch jerk chicken. Both were absolutely amazing! I am now so excited to try their other dishes. . .but I know that i will be getting the Jamaican patty every time with whatever I order - it was that good! The jerk chicken came with rice & beans, cooked cabbage, and flat cornbread. I know that the latter two food items have other names, but I don't know that they are. I just know that they were tasty! I'll also say that they chose a great location to open. I always drive on Cody Rd S, and I will be sure to stop by more often. Lastly, because they are new, they seem to be working out some of their issues. Be sure to call ahead if you really want a specific dish. They were out of an appetizer and an entree when I called. Their credit card machine was also acting up, so you might want to bring cash as a backup. I am sure that they will work out these issues in the near future.

I have been coming here for years and why I haven't left a Yelp review, is beyond me…read more El Flamboyan is the ONLY reason you'll ever find me in the town of Ocean Springs. It is truly worth the 30+ minute drive because the authentic Puerto Rican flavor is undeniable. The ambience gives real Boricuan vibes. I sent a photo of my Medalla to some friends in the island and they really thought I was in PR. The roadside stand feel hits you with that island realness the moment you step out of your vehicle. While this is an outdoor venue, they do have many seating options if you'd like to stick around and enjoy the music and the vibe. The food can also be taken to go and everything on the menu is fantastic. On my last visit, went with a Medalla (Puerto Rican beer), carne guisada (stewed meat), tostones (fried plantains), and my own personal all-time favorite: ensalada de pulpo (octopus salad). Everything was so delicious. I would eat every meal here if I could. Last but not least, the folks working here are the BEST. They're friendly and you can tell they love what they do and they put their heart and soul into this amazing food.

Ordered arroz con gandules as a side and very tasty as well. Had a couple of Medalla Lights as well. If you are seeking indoor dining you're out of luck! All dining is also fresco under a tent so plan accordingly. Food takes time as it's made to order so please be patient. Nice Puerto Rican jams playing. Makes you feel like you are in PR. Owner was very nice.
