Service was very quick and no frills. Grew up eating Jamaican food in South Florida and it did not lack! Would have liked to see some plantains, coco bread, or meat patties on the menu! I was craving oxtails and saw that they were so close to the Beau Rivage where I was staying. I did have a hard time finding the place though and wished they have better signage. It's located across the street from Half Shell Oyster House. I came in a little after they open for the day so the place was still empty. They were playing music that took me back to my Falmouth and Montego Bay vacation trip. The nice gentlemen took my order which I was getting to go. Very friendly customer service. 10 stars on the friendliness of the owner CB. The ribs were cooked perfectly. The time we came he said the sauce came a little saltier than he wanted but it was still really good (he makes the sauce himself). The escovitch fish was perfectly cooked. Seasoned so well! The jerk chicken was tender and delicious, my wife was very happy we intend to come back The cabbage was my favorite side of our choices of rice and beans and cabbage. We ordered three dishes: the oxtail, the jerk chicken, and the ribs. All three were perfectly seasoned and prepared. Each person had a different favorite, that's how good they all were. Yet, when we stepped out of the car, CB's, without any word, took that business' sale solely based on the smell exiting their restaurant. Wow! What can I say! Ive always wanted to try this place out and today was the day I did! I dont regret and I hope you dont delay as much as i did. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed with cars and smoke coming from the grills knowing I was going to get some fresh hot jerk chicken! I initially stopped in and saw a menu board of what they serve and prices and was greeted by a nice gentleman. I went ahead and got the jerk chicken with a half slab of ribs. They have a outdoor patio as well where you can soak up that nice MS sun and just enjoy your time outdoors. I literally waited for about 8 minutes and my food came out in styrofoam containers and then I paid. The owner was busy delievering food to other tables and gladly maked time to charge my order to go. He was so nice and energetic and seemed proud of the food he made and it made me super excited to try it out. The food is fairly priced and the portions are great! As soon as I got home I dug into the box of jerk chicken to find rice, cabbage and chicken nicely settled in the box with a pack of sauce. The chicken was nicely seasoned and was still hot off the grill. The spices and flavors were imersibly outrageoes! There was so much going in on my mouth I didnt know what to distinguish which was what! The rice complmented the chicken very well and the red beans were just a thank you for digging in! The cabbage I believed was cut fresh nice and clean but may have had a to bid much of black pepper in it but who am I to know what true Jamaican food taste like?? The ribs were so nice and tender and the BBQ sauce they had on it was tremondous! The ribs were bone fall apart and I kept finding myself suckin for more trying to get more more meat and juices off the bone. As im writing this review my fingers smell my BBQ from charcoal and i been cooking all day but honestly I havent been doing that just enjoying this local cusine in Ocean Springs that brings excellent BBQ to the coast. We settled on the jerk chicken, ribs, cabbage, beans and a rum cake. Once he served us he didn't come back to see us. We wanted to order the rum cake, but we couldn't. Had to get it at check out. Which we had to go to the register for. No bill at our table. The jerk was fall off the bone. By itself it didn't have much flavor until you dipped it on the BBQ sauce. It was super moist Thoth. The ribs were fall off the bone also. The beans were ok. I'm not a huge fan of cabbage but it was crunchy. They were smoking all the meat in a small room attached to the building.
