This little place found out by driving by , and good thing I didn't pass it , staff was very friendly and food was made very quick , place is cozy with great seating and prices are very reasonable, , the food was great I definitely couldn't find anything wrong about this place ... definitely a must comeback place

dirty container from the day or days before, so I don't think the agua fresca is so fresh
    Milton G.

let's start by saying my order was wrong and I was the only person there, they corrected it but another customer came in and the young lady served agua de sandía that she got from the fridge and it was less than a quarter on the container and she smelled It and made A funny face and went inside the kitchen with a little bit of the agua fresca to get a 2nd opinion and hahaha the owner or manager I believe said it's ok hahaha but you can tell that also the horchata was from the day or days before because it's only 9am and it has less than half in the container and there is residue on the top of the container! sorry but I would not recommend this place, I feel bad for the young waitress cause cause she was doing everything! I still tipped her of course, cause her service was good

chips and salsa to start off with !!! The salsa is very good.

The spot is a little hidden gem ! This Mexican restaurant has been at this location for about three years. I go down the street every single day and did not see it until I seen a sign that was in back of a truck in the parking lot so the next morning, which was today I stopped by and had some Menudo , we also ordered 2 shrimp tacos and one pancake for the kiddos ! The Menudo was really tasty tell you the honest truth probably one of the best ones I've had in a long time! The shrimp taco was super fresh, handmade, fresh corn tortillas, and they give you a big bottle of chipotle sauce so good!! my two girls had a pancake, pretty fluffy and big. I cut it up and pieces for them and they shared it. Overall, the food was delicious. The service could be a little bit better, but I think the waitress was pretty new. I was on my second bowl of chips and salsa before we got our drinks. .. The chips and salsa were perfect. They always say if the salsa is great at a Mexican restaurant, the food is gonna be better And it was !!! that's salsa was so good ! I do highly recommend you try their Horchata it is homemade not store-bought ! You could just taste the difference one of the best we've had in a long time. Thank you so much for the great food and the awesome Horchata. We will definitely be back. See you soon.! And this location is very clean and the staff was super friendly. I almost forgot to put that.

    The ambiance is so relaxing.

The food was immaculate!!!! I ordered the caldo de camarón and my husband ordered the carne asada plate . Both were fresh but I have to say my shrimp soup (which is the caldo de camarón) was sooo authentic, the flavors complemented one after another!! The tortillas are freshly made . And our server/hostess Belen was super sweet and super helpful!! 10/10 would recommend!!!! As far as restaurant goes it was super clean and organized. The decor was so neat not over bearing, not sure about restrooms we didn't go but again 10/10.

It's not often I write a review but when I experience something deliciously prepared and authentic to the taste of the region the food is from, I am compelled to do so. I am not from Sinaloa but I've visited there many times, and the flavor of the dishes I ate at this restaurant evokes memories from my visit there. I can't wait to try their camarones aguachiles! Service was on point: our server was attentive, respectful and communicative! Ambience: clean and comfortable!

Located in a relatively quiet strip mall across from 99 Ranch, I didn't think much of it. I'm glad curiosity got the best of me and I checked Yelp. I was visiting my Mom and picking up dinner to bring back to my home, 20ish mins away. For that reason, I didn't opt for any item that would be best eaten immediately; crunchy foods such as tacos, nachos, quesadillas or loaded fries. I opted for 5 $7.99 burritos to go: carne asada, chicken, and al pastor. The Hubs didn't think his carne asada burrito was anything special because he wanted guac in it & it must be an up charge because none if them came with it. My Mom liked her carne asada burrito and said it was very tasty. The al pastor was lightly sweet and spicy. Nice chunks of meat and fresh crunchy onion pieces, cilantro, and a perfect ratio of rice and beans. I got 2 gristle pieces but it was otherwise great quality meat. Chips were crisp and not overly greasy. We all loved the flavor of the chunky red salsa the best of the three; habanero, tomatillo and red. Def will be back to try the sopes & tacos!

I've been a customer of Marlin Restaurant since they opened back in 2021. As someone who's eaten from many Mexican restaurants / joins over the years in the LA area - I have to say this place is one of the best! BEST shrimp tacos & entree plates, IMO. Plus, the chips & salsa (complimentary w/entrees) - are beyond amazing. I've met the lady owner and the head chef a few times - they're both super nice, professional, and friendly. On today's visit, I was helped by a young lady named Claudia. Very nice, professional, and great customer service. I've recommended Marlin's to anyone who's looking for a fabulous Mexican joint in the Cerritos/Artesia area. Always a pleasure, and will be back soon. Thank you so much! :)

Nice to have a GOOD Mexican food spot here in Artesia! You won't find much better than their $6 3-taco combo with rice, beans, carrots, & chips on Tuesday. Delicious! The Al Pastor is done really well. Not greasy! Also my parents love the shrimp plate and seafood soup. I tried the fried fish and fried shrimp tacos and they were HUGE and delicious. If you call to place an order they might pickup the phone and immediately start speaking spanish so if you're not spanish-speaking just tell them you'd like to place an order to go and they'll make it happen! Very friendly.

Hidden gem! I was craving a shrimp burrito and even though it was not in the menu they were able to make it! I guess they had a secret menu which I need to see what else is on there because that burrito was delicious! The restaurant is small but very clean! The server was very polite and welcoming. I will definitely come back. I want to try other things on their menu. Also the price was decent. I actually was going to another Mexican cuisine place before I went here and their shrimp burrito was $20! Which I thought was expensive. Here at Marlin restaurant it was $13 but tax and card charge it needed up being $15... still cheaper.

I've spent hours trolling for marlin, but somehow Marlin hooked me, instead! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BVOivpff-nUJm5o4MIWPWA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Occupying the former location of stalwart Dolphin Bay Cafe (later Blue Bay Cafe), and then a short-lived Chinese food restaurant, Marlin Restaurant has set up shop, offering daily specials for the hungry masses- Mon - Burritos asada & a can of soda/$6.99 Tues - 3 tacos w/ rice & beans/$4.99 Wed - Fish ceviche tostada/$4.99 Thurs - Ham, asada or chicken quesadilla/$4.99 Fri - Asada torta w/ fries/$5.99 https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9S6K_9m7a2bNUfJwH5YfVg&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Asada quesadilla Thursday Special/$4.99- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Jp7bBXy4nosSvffZUW1uPA&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Not skimping on the meat at all, the asada quesadilla was cheesy, fatty & filling. The included sour cream, salsa & carrots rounded out a flavorful plate for under $5. Shrimp ceviche tostada- https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jIe9bl3EHOmPWb3zTzrICw&userid=xsT4KZTu_KnOVavtuXn4RA Looking for a seafood dish, as the namesake Marlin & Seafood are both on the marquee, I settled upon ceviche. I asked what type of fish is used for ceviche, which I told was mojarra (tilapia). Opting to spend a little more for shrimp, I'm glad I did. A very generous portion of bright, fresh & plump shrimp, adorned with cilantro, salsa & cucumber, topped by heaping slices of avocado, I loved digging into this! 2 tostadas served as edible plates, as I relished each heaping spoonful of ceviche upon the crunchy dishware. Thumb's up! Service was excellent. The kind lady working the register was friendly, and gave recommendations when asked. Currently, no dine-in is allowed, and there are no al fresco tables available, as well. Parking is via a private lot. Marlin Restaurant is located across Pioneer Blvd. from 99 Ranch Market. Future forecast - I'm going to be a regular at Marlin Restaurant. The food's killer, and is reasonably priced, especially when referring to the Weekday Specials. I already have designs to come back for Taco Tuesday, perhaps choosing pastor & taco gobernadors. And, maybe huevos a la Mexicana for the heck of it. Sabroso! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/marlin-restaurant-artesia?select=sUZdSHjqPFjT-UFsHGOYqA

For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. Sometimes It's Not About the Food... It's About the People…read more Maybe we spoke a little too soon after our last visit... because only three weeks later, hubby and I decided to give San Pedro Fish Market another chance. Looking back now, I'm so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Danny, who has been part of the San Pedro Fish Market family for 19 years. Within minutes, he gave us a sneak peek from the outside of what's to come with the brand-new development expected to open in 2028. The future expansion will span roughly 55,000 square feet and include exciting additions like pickleball courts, a Ferris wheel, and many of the eateries people have loved over the years--just with a fresh, modern twist. Listening to Danny share stories from nearly two decades here was honestly inspiring. One story that truly stayed with us was when he shared that San Pedro Fish Market is where he met his wife. That alone speaks volumes about what this place represents. It isn't just somewhere people come to eat--it's where memories are made, friendships begin, families are built, and lives are forever changed. You could hear the pride in his voice as he talked about how many lives have been touched by this place. It made me realize that for so many people, you simply can't mention San Pedro without thinking about the Fish Market. It's become part of the city's identity. We were also welcomed by Cinderella--yes, that's really her name!--who is also the current Employee of the Month. She's been here for over 30 years, and her kindness immediately made us feel at home. She shared some of her favorite menu items with us, and you could genuinely feel how much heart she has for this place. Employees like Danny and Cinderella are exactly what make businesses special. They're the ones who create lasting memories long after the meal is over. Now onto the food! Seafood Tray Rating: 9.8/10 This visit was night and day compared to our last one. Our seafood tray came out in about 15 minutes, piping hot, incredibly fresh, and absolutely packed with flavor. It honestly reminded us why San Pedro Fish Market became so iconic in the first place. We enjoyed the fried tilapia, large scallops, baby octopus, head-on shrimp, crab legs, mussels, sausage, corn, potatoes, garlic bread, and all the delicious vegetables. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and cooked beautifully. It honestly beats every seafood spot we've tried recently, and this visit completely redeemed our previous experience. And then there was the fried calamari... I honestly have a new standard for fried calamari now. It was unbelievably tender, juicy, lightly crispy, and not rubbery whatsoever. We've ordered calamari at countless restaurants over the years, and this has officially become the one every future calamari order will be compared against. For drinks, hubby enjoyed a refreshing Modelo Michelada, while I cooled off with their Peach Margarita featuring their house tequila, chamoy, and Tajín. On a hot and humid Fourth of July afternoon, it absolutely hit the spot. It packed quite a punch, but it was delicious! The highlight of our visit, however, was meeting Scott, the General Manager. We spent time talking with him about his 35 years in the hospitality industry and his journey with San Pedro Fish Market. What stood out most wasn't just his experience--it was his passion. Listening to him speak about the future of this place, the people behind it, and the history that has made it so iconic reminded me that San Pedro Fish Market has never just been about seafood. It's about generations. It's about family traditions. It's about people creating memories together. Nothing will ever replace the original 65 years of history that made San Pedro Fish Market what it is today. Change is never easy, especially for a place with so much history behind it. But after hearing the stories, seeing the vision, and meeting the people who continue to pour their hearts into this place every single day, I truly believe this is simply the beginning of a new chapter. I cannot wait to see what 2028 brings when the new San Pedro Fish Market opens its doors. I have no doubt that new memories, new traditions, and new generations of families will continue to gather here for years to come. Thank you to Danny, Cinderella, Scott, and everyone who made us feel so welcomed. Your kindness, passion, and genuine hospitality reminded us that the best restaurants aren't remembered just because of the food... They're remembered because of the people. Until we meet again very soon... Happy Eats, and Happy Fourth of July!

I'm not sure how to feel about this place…read more Has a parking lot and TONS of seating, I live nearby so I walked over. Inside is a huge section of picnic tables with QR codes to help you view the menu and order as they deliver right to your table. Service is a 10/10. Everyone we interacted with was very kind and helpful. Food is where I'm lost. Shrimp plate had great flavor, a little too oily but that's to be expected. Shrimp & Chips had food flavor and breading to them but everything came out cold. My only conclusion for this is that we are in outdoor seating and it's always windy here, so I recommend sitting as close to the Kitchen as you can if you want a hot meal. I'm a little saddened that the experience wasn't great despite only hearing amazing things about this place, but I will return when the permanent location opens up.

She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. We had plenty to share, which is always a plus. The restaurant has a nice family-style vibe, but it's a lot smaller inside than it looks from the outside. If it's busy, it can feel pretty cramped, and you'll probably have to squeeze between tables and chairs to get around. If it's not crowded though, it's much easier to move around. The service was fast, which I appreciated. The only downside was the food runner who brought out our meals. He wasn't very friendly and kind of just set the plates down wherever there was space, even on top of the plates we were already using. It felt a little careless and took away from an otherwise good experience. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight, but because of that experience with the service, it'll probably be a while before I come back.
