I got bored of the wavy hair and wanted to do straight hair. I have done japanese straightening and keratin in the past but more than 5 years. I have thick, coarse, and frizzy hair Pro: reduce my frizzy hair 70%, less tangles, less hair breakage, effortless look without straightening it with flat iron, less time styling, looks natural compared to japanese straightening Cons: initial smell ( very strong) got my eyes teary when my hair gets over my face,( I have done 4 or 5 keratin treatment throughout my life and never had this strong smell):this went away on the 2nd wash, makes my hair flat, harder to hide greasy hair It only took 1 hour for the process, they did not waste anytime and worked on your hair. There's literally one person in each side, made it efficient. It did not make my hair pin straight or perfect but Im able to put my hair down with a blow dry only vs puttibg it up in a bun. Cannot attest to longevity since this is my first round; but I will come back again. This is such an easy hair glow up! If you really want specific on what chemicals they put etc, they don't really tell you but I also did not ask. They give you generalize after care instructions. I've gotten 2 Keratin treatments here and while expensive, it's worth it. My first Keratin treatment lasted 8 months. I use top quality shampoo and conditioner, plus I use hair masks. I also apply olaplex oil on the ends and smoothing cream (not daily but the day I shower after it t dries) By the end of 8 months, my hair was getting back to being intolerably frizzy with the foggy weather. I had my hair double-processed with a gorgeous color at another salon the week before, and after the first shampoo and conditioning--it was clear my hair was fried and no amount of sulfate-free, deep conditioning was going to get it to be anywhere near manageable. Having spent a ton of money to get my color, I didn't want to spend my life in a top bun and not show it off. So, after two days of research and scouting the internet--I bit the bullet and decided to get a Brazilian Blowout. I got a last minute appointment with Marlon (my regular salon doesn't offer Brazilian Blowouts). He was very friendly and efficient, made sure I was comfortable and provided a lot of guidance on how to maintain my hair, when would be best to come in again (after my next coloring), etc. We were in a separate room with open windows and lots of fans, as well as a special fan that was placed over my head to suck the fumes out, and I was provided a mask to prevent inhaling fumes. The process involved shampooing, blow drying, applying the product, and flat ironing. I was sent home after that and instructed that I could wash my hair that evening if the product was irritating at all, or the next night if I could hold off. I went to bed with a pony tail and a hair cap to avoid smelling the product or having it on my pillowcase or bedding. I washed my hair in the morning and styled only by blow drying with heat protectant and styling cream. It only took 20 minutes and I was completely frizz free! I was a bit confused and skeptical because my research said after flat ironing, you're supposed to rinse out the product and blow dry again--which didn't happen for me. When I went home and did some more research, it seems like perhaps I received a Brazilian Blowout Zero+ rather than the Original? And Zero+ is better for fine/thin hair and mine is on the thicker/coarser side. But regardless, after the first wash and self-styling--the outcome is highly satisfactory! I would just ask Marlon about what process he's saying, if you're super particular. Lastly, something that cannot be helped is that my hair is very much yellower after the process--Marlon warned me that this could happen and I decided to risk it. So if your hair is prone to brassiness, be ready to double up on the sulfate-free, silicone-free purple shampoo and conditioner to tone your hair back to an ashier color. Overall, would definitely recommend Marlon and his services! read more

Went in to see Marlon and his assistant Briana for a Brazilian Blowout and it has by far been the best decision I've ever made for my hair. I was getting to the point that I was going to just chop it all off . I was also concerned that a Brazilian blow out would make my hair look too straight and flat, but that was not the case at all. I still have a lot of volume and even some of my wave. As an example, I an attaching a before and after photo of my hair, as well as a photo of my hair after washing it for the first time since the blowout. I let it air dry and it was 10 times easier to brush and I didn't have to straighten it. It was such a relief to have manageable hair for the first time in a long time. He talked me though all the differences in detail. I was a little nervous since it was a new formulation. My fears were completely unfounded. The results from the Zero Formaldehyde treatment have been amazing. My hair is super sleek, shiny, and smooth and my blow dry time is at 15 minutes down from 35/40 when I don't have the treatment. It lasted me a good four months, and I was so happy with the results and benefits it had on my hair. I went in looking for a treatment that would help me manage my extremely frizzy and curly hair, and the keratin treatment did just that. I was a little skeptical at first, because I was told I was one of the first clients to receive the treatment without formaldehyde, but the results were so amazing. I have extremely frizzy, poofy hair with tight waves, so I'd been Japanese hair straightening my hair for 14 years. However, the damage had taken a serious toll on my hair, so I started exploring alternative methods. Up til now, I had always been told that Keratin wouldn't be strong enough to address my hair type. That is until I met Marlon, who explained that there are literally thousands of types of Keratin on the market, and with the right kind we could definitely get my hair sleek and shiny. Marlon did explain that my hair wouldn't be as pin-straight as the Japanese, but it would be much straighter than my natural hair.
