Marlon is pretty known in the classic car community and with good reason. I brought my mustang here for a massive brake issue that had been plaguing me for months. I don't know how his brain works, but what had taken me months to try to figure out was confirmed by him within 30 minutes of seeing the car and getting under it. This guy is a BUTCHER.........don't bring your car to this IDIOT. I brought my 1965 Cadillac to him, before I did, I called and talked to him, asked him if he could do the front disc brake conversion. He said, "yes, I just did one on the same car". I left the car with him. He charged me in total $1200, when I picked my car up from him (both times), the pedal went to the floor, the brakes were binding, there were brake lines routed in stupid ways, the proportioning valve was hooked up backwards, as well as he took it apart, and put it back together wrong.....shall I continue....I ended up finding another (Very Good) mechanic to fix everything, and it cost me another $1600. As I think about it, the first time he told me the system didn't need the proportioning valve at all......WRONG.... read more

Heard a rattling noise coming from my front tire. I took my car to a shop in my area (Santa Clarita) was told tso parts need to be replaced (500.00). I shopped around and found Marlo's Frame and Alignment...took my car in for an estimate..1 part was loose which they tightened. The second part will need to be replaced in 30,000 miles. I wouldn't let this guy put air in my tires, but if he did I have no doubt he would charge me $20. I brought my 1967 Mustang in for new suspension front and rear and also do some frame rail repair. I paid half the quote with credit card...I should have ran when he asked I also sent him a check for additional cash so he could pay his son (apparently it takes time to get the money from VISA into his personal account). He kept calling and upping the price by hundreds of dollars at a time over the next few weeks. I finally said STOP! I am coming to pick it up as is. When I did the work (specifically welding) was shoddy and the car was still a danger to drive. I have since taken the car and had complete floor pans and frame rails replaced (not repaired as he was jacking around with) for half the money I paid him. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE HOPING TO GET RIPPED OFF!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! read more

Wow! I'm absolutely amazed. I own a custom fiberglass '51 Mercury built in 1998 by a now defunct company called P&J. From the get-go, the front suspension was crap. This was made significantly worse by a guy who "installed air bags and would make it steer like a dream. It did anything but. I then took it to three alignment shops who did make it run straight IF I had the nose of the car raised to the heavens. Last week, I found a big gouge in one of bags due to the bag installer placing it AGAINST the cotter pin of the ball joint. Three other shops had no idea how to fix the problem. So a friend suggest I go to Marlo's in the valley. I show up and Marlo gets it on the lift and studies the suspension for half an hour, perplexed by why someone did what they did, then in a matter of a day relocated the lower control arms (not an easy feat, I can assure you), making ample clearances for the airbags, dropping the nose 2 1/2 inches, and made the car absolutely rock stable! Used to be I would hit a big bump on the freeway (like an overpass) and the front would actually go light and perhaps even lift the tires off the ground and when the nose came down, the car would jerk hard left or right, depending on what unaligned wheel was dominant. Car damn near killed me on a couple of occasions. Now the Merc feels like a sports car! I can't say enough about this guy. Really knows his stuff!!!! And I found what he charged as very reasonable. Marlon will align cars perfectly that other people won't attempt. Small shop so you have to plan ahead of when you want work done but i gets done for a fair price and comes out correctly. He certainly knows his stuff. For those who say he is expensive, you don't really understand the work that goes into certain jobs, hence why your hiring someone and not specifying what actually happened. Took my 2013 Ford Edge to get I lowered just a bit. Marlon found the parts online and had me use his computer to order the parts myself, proving he had no way to mark-up the cost of the parts. I couldn't be happier and pleased with Marlo's, by word of mouth, my friend Brett found him, told me he was honest and fair prices. I went to his place, but he had already left early, when I called the # outside he picked up and told me, he has an emergency and had to leave early, I did not have an appointment with him however.. so I went right across from his garage, a few feet away, well I got a quote for $440.00 Wow!!! just for breaks? really? so I told the guy I would probably come back on Saturday, and I did, but to Marlo's garage, because I called him back and asked if he had time on Saturday, and he said he had some people coming to his home to fix something, But! if I could be there at 8am and brng the supplies lol... ( new breaks and 5 quarts of oil and fiter, he could do it...So this morning I was at the auto shop at 7:30 am picked the stuff and went right over, he was already waiting for me... Such a nice guy, my friend was right! he is honest and I paid less than half including EVERYTHING!! even what I bought, and I bought, the expensive oil, brakes and all that, less than half of what I got quoted yesterday, and that did not include the oil change at the other place either.. they wanted $440.00 just for breaks. they guy told me I need it, rotors for the breaks, NOT TRUE! That's why I gave Marlo a $20.00 tip for being so awesome!!! he gave me nice hot coffee, turned on the heater and I was watching t.v. hahaha I will tell you this, give him a try, because you will not!! be disappointed at all.. he is very nice and I took a bunch of his business card to give to my friends and family, because this guy, will be my new mechanic, and I highly recommend him... Trust me I never recommend any one who will try to take advantage of any one...Now I have new brakes that work excellent, new oil in my car,,, I'm very happy :) and I know you will too.. First off, whoever writes a bad review on this shop based on prices must not know anything about cars. From experience, this type of car work takes a lot of time and effort to get things right. Some times things go as planned and some times they don't, and when things don't go well, you have to pay a little bit more. It is understandable with older vehicles that things could add up, but this happens to all car shops. I had a lot of suspension and brake work done at Marlo's, which turned out to be more work than expected. However, Marlon kept to his pricing and the car turned out better than I had ever expected! The $900 worth of work would have been $1500 or more anywhere else!! The customer service was also some of the best I had ever had. Most shops are reluctant to talk to customers multiple times when they have questions, unless they have cash in hand. Marlon answered every question I had via text and phone call, and this is important to us car guys when trying to learn the dynamics of our cars. Marlon, frame and alignment did not do the job that I took my car in for. I took my car to have my disk brakes installed and the kit that I bought from a vendor he works with all the time, came with the wrong pushrod for master cylinder. Instead of stopping, and calling me about it. He installed it and now the pedal is 5 inches too high. He said that that's the kit I ordered from his vendor. He took no responsibility. He wanted me to pay him again to do the job, another $350 dollars. The steering after that was never good, when I took it back. The next thing was a real alignment, camber, caster and toe.He lied about doing the camber on the alignment. He told me he shimmed the upper arms, but there was no evidence of the threads being adjusted at all. They were just as rusted as they were when I took it there. He measured the camber in front of me, and purposely did the wrong measurement so that I thought it was withn specs. I didn't say anything at the time. I'm just taking my car elsewhere. The job had to be re done. I'm disputing my credit card charge. This place is sheister heaven. Do not go there. You will be disappointed. I now realized why this place is always empty. This place has no intention of doing a great job, just collecting and assuming there will be no repeat business. Relying on new customers only. Not a good business model. read more
