My catalytic converter was stolen and I was in frenzy to look for a shop that would be able to take my car before or during the weekend. I called a few shops but Armen was the only one who actually picked up on a Friday afternoon. He was able to take my car in the next morning. He made efforts to find me a reasonably priced catalytic converter, even calling the dealer (which was unfortunately 3-4 months backed up on them since of all the stolen incidences), and was able to find me one. I was able to get my car back on Monday. He even washed my car and gave me raspberries. The shop itself is located in the back lot of a carwash, which can make it hard to miss, but I definitely recommend Armen for his communication, professionalism, customer service and timely repairs to my car. read more

I contacted him and told him of my problem. He told me my options and called me back the next day with more options. He ended up changing out my engine for an original engine with 90,000 miles on it. Had some weird sounds coming from my wheel and was told of other issues with my car from other mechanics. Armen was great! He looked at my car while I was still there and found the wheel problem and also looked at the other issues I might be having and was able to fix it right then and there since it turned out to be minor. This place is the epitome of a hidden gem. Tucked away behind a large carwash operation, Armen has created a car mechanic's oasis. I consider myself a huge car fanatic and have worked with various mechanics for several decades. It was clearly evident to me that Armen genuinely appreciates and is exceptionally knowledgable in automobiles. This place is unlike any mechanic I've been to and feels like something out of a movie and I love it. (That type of movie where a quiet local car mechanic is actually an automotive genius who gets discovered and helps win the championship race.) The quality of this operation is clearly evident by looking inside Armen's shed at his tool collection and meticulous organization. (along with the cars he has worked on and noticing some celebrity clients of his) I found Armen because I was working on my Corvette and accidentally over torqued one of my throttle body bolts causing it to snap in half while still in the manifold. I needed someone knowledgable to extract the broken bolt for me and this place was open on a Sunday! Initially when I snapped the bolt, I was upset and felt unlucky but little did I know that my luck about to change as the incident lead me to find Complete Auto Surgery and meet Armen along with his car enthusiast son! Within 15 minutes, Armen was able to extract the broken bolt from my throttle body/intake manifold and he even installed a replacement bolt for me. I read all of the positive reviews and thought he would be an honest mechanic, but that was not the case. I did like that he was able to get me in right away and was quickly able to figure out the problem in my car. I needed the sway bar replaced on both front ends. He initially told me he would do it for free since I just needed the bushings replaced. Then, he couldn't get the bolt out without cutting it so he said $100 for parts and that he would not charge for labor. He calls some auto parts store, tells me they only have one in stock so I say okay go for it! He also checks the other side and says another $100 for that side. Meanwhile, I'm googling this because $100 seems like a lot. I find them for $35 for BOTH front ends, to which he calls back the store who I hear saying they have them in stock and it's $35 that comes with two parts for both of the front ends. He was like "Oh, they have two" like he didn't try to tell me there was only one available not two minutes ago. He then tries to tell me he thought they said $60 instead of $16, which made no sense regarding he quoted me $100 each but I decided to play along since he did have my wheel off of the car. Overall, car feels good, but I do seem to have been scammed for a much higher cost. He charged me $236 initially for labor + parts, which was crazy since he said he would not charge me for labor but the parts... but then came down to $200. I just took my car to another mechanic for an overall inspection who quoted me $65 for labor and probably $35 each for parts on the sway bars. He also tried to get me to change my front brake pads for $200 after telling me they were at about 10%. Just for replacing the brake pads and "cleaning the rotors," not even replacing the rotors... That's half a job if you do not replace the rotors. In addition, I've been to the Cadillac dealership and my other mechanic since seeing him a few days ago, who have told me brakes were fine and I still had about 10-15k miles left on them... Anyways, I'm out $200 when I apparently could have gotten it done for $100, but I'm giving him more than one star since he was able to fix it up right then. read more

My 2009 VW Beetle engine blew out from leaking water and oil neglect with 140K miles on it. We've taken our other VW Rabbit to Armen for a few years and we completely trust him with his work. So when the engine blew on the freeway I immediately called him and asked if we could tow it there and he said 'yes, bring it in so he can look at it'. There was a lot wrong with the engine and we decided in this market, it would be best to replace the whole engine. He found one but called back and said that when he checked it out it was no good and he'll look for a better one. Found one with less miles and got to work on it ASAP.
