I definitely went in with high hopes. The interior is really modern and minimal, which I liked. It just felt a little unexpected being tucked into a shopping center. We had dinner reservations and were seated at a corner table by the windows. The staff were friendly throughout the night. My sister ordered a Coke, while I decided to try the Black Cherry Manhattan. Let's just say... it was strong. We shared a few dishes: * Roasted vegetables: I wasn't a fan of the onion purée. It just tasted odd to me, but I still ate it because I needed to get my veggies in. * Steak Tagliata: We ordered it medium, but unfortunately neither of us finished it. The steak was much chewier than we expected. * Smashed Potatoes: Maybe this one's on me, but I took the menu name literally and was expecting crispy smashed potatoes. These were much closer to mashed potatoes. * Bianca Pizza: This ended up being the star of the meal. Nothing mind-blowing, but it was the only dish we actually finished. Overall, I wasn't blown away. Normally we come for lunch or dinner, but I was craving a latte and ended up enticed by their expanded breakfast offerings. The sausage sandwich is super flavorful with eggs, a sausage patty, arugula, and a tasty sauce. I'd had their egg sandwich before and honestly it was a little bland, so the sausage really makes it. My coffee was perfect as always. I love that they use organic milk and it's always a little piece of art to sip and enjoy. The almond croissant was flakey with just the right about of filling. My husband is also a fan of their cold brew. One note is that if you come in for breakfast you won't get the service they provide for lunch and dinner. Went once because it's not close to home. The food was great. We got to sit at the bar and observe the kitchen at work, which was kind of interesting. It was very busy, but our service was prompt and we didn't lack for anything. You must try the giant meatballs. There are some vegetarian options. Makawao, HI. I really liked this restaurant . We were seated without a reservation and the place was very busy. All the staff ladies were exceptionally friendly and helpful. This was about 6:00 pm for dinner. The vibe is casual but trendy. A buzz of activity was going on. Everything we tried was just bursting with flavors! We started out with the meatballs which were as good as grandma's, who made the best, of course. I would categorize them as "Memorable Meatballs". The sauce that came with them (2 of them) was perfect in every way. The chopped salad was large enough for three people and was fresh and delicious. The dressing was a great complimentary addition to the greens. The braised pork pizza was over the top good. Just the right amount of char on a sourdough crust and a sauce that was just full of flavor. The Lilikoi butter provided a bright spot on the tomato palate. This I believe, helps make this pizza unique. The prawns were large and you get six. They tasted great , soaked in chimichurri . They would be perfect with just a little less salt and a bit more garlic. Mushrooms in crème fraiche, just outstanding. Note that the emphasis is on the sauce, not the mushrooms. For dessert was the gelato with fennel pollen, honey, olive oil, and sea salt. This is an absolute must to try, it's divine. The Panna cotta is rich and silky, nicely done. There is a decorative crumble on top that adds a little crunch and gives the dish a good presentation. There are some sweet floral notes in the custard, most likely cardamom. The ginger fizz drink is very good with a nice ginger kick without tasting like ginger ale. A well constructed mocktail. The vibe in the morning is about a 180 degree turn about. There is no table service, not busy enough. Order at the counter. The cheerful night time ladies have been replaced by a solitary glum teen who is not happy and maybe don't even like the people she has to deal with in the morning. She is efficient though. Nevertheless, the quiche was great. Great flavor, great crust, interesting top glaze that was different from any I've seen. The latte featured the same topping of fennel pollen, etc. that was on the gelato last night. Pretty amazing version of a latte. My suggestion, to make it perfect, is to order it with an extra shot in a large ceramic cup. The bathroom here is clean and I never encountered a line. read more

We were spending a day up country, and had heard great things about this place. We all love Italian and my daughter especially is a huge pizza lover! The service was excellent. The food was fantastic: the braised pork pizza, and the gnocchi were favorites at the table where we ordered multiple pizzas and pasta dishes to share. The winner of the evening, however, was the eggplant parmesan ! I was designated driver, but I understand the cocktails were delicious and they had some good wines on the menu as well. The service was friendly and efficient with staff checking in on us frequently to fill up waters, take additional drink, orders, and clear away dishes as we were finished. The restaurant is in a strip mall . The dining room itself is nice. It was a little bit loud just because it was crowded. I would definitely recommend Marlow for a great dining experience read more

We went to Marlow on a day trip to Maui. We got 2 pizzas and a chopped salad. I do not recommend the chopped salad at all. The one I received didn't taste great at all for the price ($20) and had tons of brown leaves and bits of lettuce in it. I was having to pick them off of my fork every time I grabbed a bite and I got sick of it. The taste was not worth the effort by any means. The pizzas we got though? Those were amazing and I'd eat those again for sure! read more

We had lunch here yesterday and it was the best food I've had on the island. My teens loved the pizza. I thought the sauce was the best sauce I've ever had on anything. You can tell the sauce is from San Marzano tomatoes lovingly cooked for hours. My mouth is just watering thinking about sauce. We finished with a cardamom crumble panna cotta. That was the best panna cotta I've ever had. It was perfectly balanced with the perfect amount of crumble to go with the delicate vanilla panna cotta. I was on Maui to help out at a big Yelp Elite Event, and many MANY local Yelpers told me I must take the journey to the Upcountry and order a pizza from Marlow. So, of course, I obliged! But first, I stopped at Mahalo Aleworks next door, as I wasn't quite ready for lunch yet. I was excited to find out that I could order a pizza to go from Marlow and eat it at the brewery. It was hard to decide what to get, but it looked like their Fungi Pizza was a popular choice so I grabbed one and waited while I finished my beer. It took awhile, but was well worth the wait. The pizza was phenomenal. Hot, cheesy, and covered in tender mushrooms. It needed nothing, as it was the perfect slice on its own. My only regret is that they don't make a "small" size as this pie was HUGE and could have fed an army. I was only inside actual Marlow for a few minutes while I picked up my pizza, but I loved its quaint, rustic vibe. It was full of people and there was a waitlist - if you go in person, I recommend getting there early (or enjoying it from next door as I did). They also have some tasty-sounding non-pizza options. My husband and I always share the chopped salad (minus chickpeas) and the mortadella sandwich. Went here about a week ago and was happy we did. We were not sure where we wanted to go because it was a dark and stormy night upcountry. Then we remembered Marlow was open so we decided to try them out as I have not been there in about a year. We did not have reservations so we did a walk in and they were able to accommodated us quickly. I would recommend reservations as they were busy. Our server came over very quickly and he was great. They had the usual menu but also had some food and drink specials. It was dated for that night so im not sure how often they do the specials but they looked good. We decided to go with the Braised pork pizza which comes with lilikoi butter on it. So good ! We also ordered the Mafaldine Bolognese pasta. Also so good ! My other half had a bottled Coke and I had a Black Cherry Manhattan. I enjoyed it my guest said it tasted like medicine. In my opinion it was good medicine. I enjoyed it and it went perfectly with dinner. Overall a very nice experience. We had a great night at Marlow in Upcountry Maui--this place is absolutely worth the drive. First tip: bring a jacket or sweater. It's cool up there, and it adds to the cozy, Upcountry vibe. Marlow is a lively spot with an open kitchen that makes the whole experience feel energetic and welcoming. Definitely make a reservation. We ran into a delay getting up the hill due to a downed utility pole and messaged through the OpenTable app. Eden, who was hosting that night (and we later learned also serves), immediately called us, walked us through the menu, and even got our order started so we wouldn't hold up service. She was incredibly knowledgeable and set the tone for the evening with genuine hospitality. At the bar, Jesse, our bartender, took great care of us. From the drink menu, he made an excellent Black Cherry Manhattan with Burning Chair bourbon, Cocchi di Torino, cherry, and Angostura bitters--smooth, balanced, and delivered tableside. We also enjoyed a bottle of Gamay wine, which paired beautifully with the food and rounded out the meal. For dinner: * Mafaldine Bolognese (Lopes Farm beef, gremolata, parm - dinner only) was rich and comforting. My wife loved it. * Steak Tagliata (horseradish crème fraîche, herb verde - dinner only) was cooked perfectly and full of flavor--my dad cleaned his plate. * I had the Funghi white pie with local mushrooms, mozzarella, garlic confit, and parmigiano, and it was outstanding--earthy, balanced, and satisfying. Dessert capped things off nicely, and by the end of the night we were happily full. A special shoutout to Kira, our server--kind, fun, and professional. It was neat finding out she's also a Maui High grad, from a different generation, but with that same local pride and warmth that makes dining in Hawaiʻi special. Big mahalo to the kitchen crew--you can feel the care and teamwork in every dish. Payment was easy using Toast, which we appreciated. All around, Marlow delivers thoughtful food, great cocktails, and genuine hospitality. It's wonderful to have a fun, lively, open-kitchen restaurant in Upcountry Maui. I will say that the service was very cold though.. one person in particular was very rude. We just did not feel welcome at all, which was disappointing given that the food that we had was good. Wow, we visited this place for Easter dinner. We were traveling from San Francisco, and the food here was absolutely delicious. I've traveled to Italy, and the pizza here was comparable to having one there. It was very authentic in taste, not bland, and the fresh vegetables were a great addition. We ordered the bolognese, pork pizza, ciopino, and for dessert, the olive oil drip with ice cream and cake. The chefs in the back were incredibly friendly and waved goodbye to our family. If you haven't been here, it's a must-try in the island. It's my favorite place in the entire island. We visit the island every year, and this will be our ideal dinner spot for the time. Walking in, the restaurant looks extremely well done. From the decor, to the music, to the lighting absolutely wonderful. We were greeted right when walking in the door, we made a reservation, which made seating a breeze. Our server was attentive and informative. We ordered the meatball appetizer which was incredibly done. My wife had the margarita pizza and I got the Wagyu strip loin. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Their sauces are made in house and did you farm to table ingredients. everything's locally sourced and it showed. I am extremely picky about my steaks, so I was a little nervous, ordering something of that caliber. Not only was the medium rare cook perfectly done, but the crust on the outside of the steak was absolutely perfect. The pizza had fresh ingredients and was cooked well. I got their gelato with fennel pollen, olive oil and honey. I do not remember the name of it, but it was phenomenal. Our server, Autumn, was lovely and very helpful with her recommendations. We ordered a few items: - Golden Beets with Pistachio (5/5): You know how salads are usually just... meh? Well, I'm happy to tell you that this salad was anything but that. We were blown away because we did not have any expectations. It simply was the BEST salad we have ever had. The sweet beets paired perfectly with the bitterness of the arugula, plus the creaminess of the cheese and the crunchiness of the pistachios...OMG spectacular! - Cioppino (5/5): The cioppino was a bit more tangy than what I had anticipated, but it was still incredibly tasty. The grilled prawns added a wonderful aroma to the dish, tying everything together nicely. - Salsiccia (4/5): This is a thin-crust, wood-fired pizza topped with Italian sausage, caramelized onions, and mozzarella in a red sauce. My husband and I go here regularly for an easy date night. Food is great-the chopped salad, meatball, and braised pork red pie are our most frequently ordered items. I usually try their specialty cocktail-it's generally something fun and inventive. It can get pretty warm in the restaurant because of the wood fire pizza oven, but there is outside seating. It can also be a bit loud as well, if you have difficulty hearing with background noise (some of the seats near the windows are a *little* quieter). Service is always professional and friendly. Per my co-worker who super love this restaurant , they fly over to Maui for her annual girls trip just for Marlow, for the day. On a recent island adventure to Maui for the day, I've decided to give Marlow a try after seeing my coworker's social media post and I am glad I did, no regrets after seeing all the wonderful Facebook post and Yelp reviews. We spent the morning at upcountry and Marlow was in the area, which was perfect! note they open for lunch til 2 pm, luckily we checked in at 1:27 pm and got a table, with about 4 minute wait. Marlow is such trendy restaurant, nice, new, very welcoming! The place could get loud due to how busy the restaurant is and we also sat near the kitchen/register. I really love the decor here, there are cool products for sale at the front. Brylee was our waitress, she is super friendly and helpful! She recommended 2 favorite /popular pizza, but since it was just the 2 of us, 2 pizza would be too much, ended up with one of the choices she recommended. From Yelp photos, I wanted to get the burrata with tomatoes but that was a special and not available, we went with pizza and salad, Salisicca ($25.) red pie comes with house italian sausage, onion and add jalapeño ($2.) and the chopped salad ($17.) Kupa'a farm greens, mozz, red onion, cherry tomato, chickpea, pepperoncini, with a lemon vinaigrette dressing. The verdict, We did enjoy our thin crust wood fire style pizza, even though the crust was a little on the burnt side, it was still great! The chopped salad was omg Wow Yums! I just love the flavors, and how fresh it is, love the dressing. Pizza and salad sure went well together! Totally recommend this combination! For dessert, I wanted the bread pudding seen on yelp photos but not available, sad face. I wasn't ready to try the olive oil gelato but went with the salted caramel and kula strawberry gelato, so refreshing and good! All in all, we enjoyed our very first time visit here and it won't be our last. We couldn't finish the entire pizza, had 2 slice left which we brought back home to enjoy! And boy were they right...my husband & I loved it! Being that he's 100% Italian (and me being Italian by marriage hehe), we're very picky about our pizza! We decided to try their Margherita Pizza and it totally hit the spot and was cooked to perfection! Marlow actually specializes in artisan style, neapolitan sourdough pizza and uses locally sourced ingredients, so you know it's going to be fresh & tasty! They have a great cocktail & wine menu too, so we tried their Aperol Spritz which was balanced & refreshing, and much like the ones we've enjoyed in Italy. Big thank you and mahalo to Hailey P. for being so welcoming, and the whole staff, especially since we got there just in time (they were going to be closing the lunch service in just over 30min so we asked first if there was enough time for us, and they assured us that there was!). I look forward to Marlow Mornings, the sourdough pastries(ham & cheese croissant, chocolate croissant,..) and quiches are sooo good and don't sit heavy in your belly. All the tasty morning beverages are great especially the Oaxan Mocha and Con Olio. The barista/cashier ladies(Lauren and Anna-Maria) are welcoming and set a warm tone for the morning. I have had a few moments of unusual clarity encouraged by the atmosphere. With the architecture, music, food, lattes, and friends there's no wonder why I look forward to Marlo's Mornings. read more
