Hello and welcome to this take out video. Today's show takes us to Cebula's Pizza in Dupont Pennsylvania. How can I explain this type of pizza for those who never experienced or has ever lived in the area. To me it tastes like a cross between baked which here in Northeast Pa calls "Old Forge" style and fried which is called "Scillian" style pizza. Now here is the thing, this place has been around for many years with a high reputation for being excellent, however a few years back the original owners from what I heard sold to who owns it now and is basically keeping the same recipe. When you get pizza from this place you get it how it comes, cheese and sauce, that's all, they do not offer any types of toppings. Now it was not bad, I tasted a more cheddar flavor as the main cheese where in other pizza's you taste a more dominant mozzarella. Now I recommend you all to try this for yourselves and make a decision. I can't say it was bad, it wasn't, the next time I try this I will eat it in house to see if there is a difference. I noticed that the crust was not crispy, I know I went from Dupont to West Pittston, but it should not lose the crispiness that fast. I give this overall a 5 out of 10 being an average rating. For all of you that follow me on a regular basis know I never felt the need to rate a pizza, now I am not saying this is a bad review, I will call it an average review. Until next time, be blessed and stay safe everyone. It's been a long time since I have been to Cebula's and after decades of a pizza recipe guarded closely and with a stellar reputation, I wanted to check it out not that it's under new ownership. I was not disappointed! The pizza tasted just about the same (I hope the new owners got those 70-year old, well cured pizza pans with the deal). I did done in rather than take put to size up the place. Same booth and tables as it always had, which is a nice touch cause this place is art deco heaven. There was a coat of lighter colored fresh paint, which makes it a nice & bright and the large mirror still hangs in the dining room like ur at ur Grandmas's house. The circular bar area is the same and filled with locals having a great time! So good to be back! Although the menu has expanded, I ordered the classic tray. The crust was perfectly heavy in the traditional Cebulas way... with that tomato-ey sauce and crazy cheese all burnt in the right places. The traditional 8 large square pieces had those dark airy bubbles lifted from the dough. OMG! Fabulous!! I was never so happy to burn the roof of my mouth...we all know & love "the Cebula burn"...where you want to wait to eat the pizza cause it's so hot out of the oven...but you can't! You just can not! I took half of the tray home with me 'cause who doesn't love Cebula's pizza served cold the next day??? AMMI RIGHT??!!! I have heard alot of great things about the new young couple that took over the restaurant, and I am thrilled for them. They kept the traditional but are doing some spin offs like broccoli & cheese on certain days and upped their burger game and even added salads! Slow down fellas...slow down! Rumor on the street is that they will sell you an un-baked or par baked pizza to take home. Great for us native NEPA peeps who travel back home with 6 trays of local pizza in a cooler in the back. You know I am hitting you up for a tray at the take-out sunroom in the rear of the building...or dine in....or in the West Side Club parking lot. I will take Cebula's however I can get it. (And I am not against having it shipped to me if you ever get into that...HINT, HINT!) Cheers to nostalgia and some things never changing!

Ooey gooey no frills cheese heaven of 8 slices!

It's a dive spot so expect that! They're very kind there and the Pizza was delicious! Don't be scared at how it looks, it is a tad messy but it's worth it! They don't allow toppings on the Pizza and they only except CA$H. Support small and local businesses!

    Pizza! Amazing & delicious

Ok place. I was expecting fantastic pizza but found it to be average and a little less than the hype associated with it.

It truly shows how the new owners really care about this spot, they take pride in their pies! I know a lot of people in the area stick to their normal spots but I really think this is a true gem!!

It's more of a takeout place but they do have two tables set up if you want to have it there. Today's pizza is basic and right to the point, a patron behind me told me after asking what the popular choice it's their sweet sauce pizza was, so that's what I got. Now sitting there, I noticed they do a good amount of take out. I also saw the same door dash guy a few times. Now, how was my pizza you ask? This came out nice and hot, the crust was nice and crisp, the sweet sauce was amazing. I do want to add the employees were very nice being my first time ever here. I do recommend everyone to try this place out. Until next video, be blessed and stay safe. Unlike some of the other well known pizza spots in Old Forge, they are open for lunch and also have an indoor dining area. I ordered in advance since pizzas take a while to cook, and was ready right on time when promised. The lady that answered the phone was really pleasant in taking my order and answering questions I had, and also made it a point to chat with us when we came in. I appreciated the genuinely friendly conversation and her checking in to ask how the pizza was after we tried it. The interior seating area is cozy, clean, and modern, with tasteful pictures of Italy's landmarks on the wall. We went with a tray of the red, which is the standard pizza with cheese and red tomato sauce. While it looks like a Sicilian slice, it's feel is airy and much lighter, with a great crunchy crust. While the sauce and cheese were decent enough, they didn't measure up to the quality I'm spoiled with in the New Jersey/Philadelphia areas. The crust was really the star of the show, and gave vibes of a unique taste akin to a French bread and/or Ellios pizza crust the way they used to make it decades ago. While it wouldn't be in my wheelhouse for a style of pizza I'd regularly get, we were satisfied with the taste of the pizza and the overall experience. Since I haven't tried any of the other Old Forge pizzas and have nothing to compare it to, I'll chalk the pizza up to a 4.5/5 for its own unique special style, and am happy to round up for the satisfying experience and friendly service. I'd recommend giving Mary Lou's Pizza a try to others looking to experience Old Forge pizza.
