We drove to Maroush from Winter Park on the recommendation from a friend of a friend that they had the best Shawarma around. We were not disappointed! The food was fantastic. Our group all ended up getting the Mix Arabic Shawarma Plate so we could try the beef and chicken Shawarma, and we started with the Baba Ganoush which they serve with freshly warmed bread. Everything was packed with flavor and very enjoyable. The shawarma stood apart as better than most, the fries were crispy and the baba ganoush was smoky and flavorful. The service was fantastic. The staff are all very attentive, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was very nice as well. There is ample seating indoors and outdoors, and everything was very clean. The staff were on top of things, there was always someone walking through the dining room checking if anyone needed anything and cleaning up as needed. The restrooms were also pleasant and clean. We will definitely come back. There is also so much to do in the area, so it's worth the trip if you don't live very close. I've been to Maroush now quite a number of times. I've tried their wraps, appetizers, soup, Marakeesh's, rice, etc. I really like them and will continue to support them. I think the problem I always seem to have when I come here is the sticker shock I get when I see how much my total comes to every time I visit. On this last visit I brought my brother. He and I frequent this Lebanese place up north when I visit and he wanted to experience something similar here. He showed me his almost $30 receipt and I was like: "Wow! What did you order??" and he was like "Just a wrap combo" To put it in perspective; the Lebanese place we usually frequent up north, you could've gotten two wraps for close to the same amount. I think that's the thing he had a hard time wrapping his mind around, and I don't blame him. However; we did notice during our time there that a man (maybe the owner?) was busy making fresh pitas in the oven. My brother even commented: "He looks like he's having such a good time making those" and he did. He had a very wide smile every time one of those pita's came out of the oven. I wouldn't doubt that the wraps used to make the sandwiches are made in house as well. There is a quality aspect that cannot be ignored and that is what sets them apart.... Maroush is in the busy Waterford plaza, we stopped in to grab some takeout. The reviews for this place go on and on about the shawarma, so we decided on getting those. The chicken and beef shawarma in the medium size, it also comes in large for a few extra dollars. For a side we ordered the tabbouleh Salad, the smallest it comes is medium, which was like $12. Kinda steep for a side that looks like a small when you get it. The shawarmas were both very good, I actually preferred the chicken one. Tabbouleh salad was good but nothing amazing. Overall, I just this this place for the portion size and spending $40, it's a bit much. I think the value isn't there. read more

We had a sporting event to watch on TV one night, and we decided to order a mess of Middle Eastern food. I looked at my list, and saw Maroush was closeby and it offered an excellent platter. We ordered it for takeout. It was called the Maroush Dish (Maroush Sides: 1 Mix Arabic Shawarma, 6 Pieces Falafel, 1 Green Salad, 1 Hummus, 1 Mutabal. Maroush Skewers: 1 Ribeye Skewer, 1 Syrian Kabab Skewer, 1 Shish Tawook Skewer, 1 Chicken Kabab Skewer). Wow, this was a lot of good food. If you concentrate on the meat dishes, this is the perfect size for two people. There will be other stuff like rice and fries and hummus leftover, but that stuff can be eaten later. Everything was delicious. Meats were cooked well, good char, not too dry or anything. The shawarma wraps were very herbaceous and slathered with some sort of creamy sauce. And the falafel were soft and well fried. Just a really nice platter. We also got a Toshka Manakeesh, which is like a pizza of some sort. If it was fresh, it probably would have been good, but after a little bit in the to-go box, it was not good anymore. Soggy, oil seeping everywhere, just a no-go. Avoid this if you're doing takeout. As bad of a miss as that was, I'm still keeping this at a five stars, because the service was impeccable. I was greeted by very nice people with very big smiles, and the food was ready exactly at the appointmented time. They also helped me select a delicious rose water and pistachio dessert of some sort that hit the spot perfectly. Pros: Love the location. Waterford is a high foot traffic shopping area, which is going to expose more people to this kind of food. Ambiance was nice. Standard counter service looking place, but with a beautiful dessert glass case to ogle at while you're in line. Service was excellent. Very very nice people. We got take-out, and the food was ready right when we arrived. The food itself was mostly excellent. They certainly had the best platter of any Middle Eastern place around. Lots of variety. Cons: I'm sure it's because we got it take-out, but the Manakeesh did NOT transport well. We got it home, and it was soggy and not good. I'm sure it would be a lot nicer fresh and in-store, so... Tips: ...make sure you get the Manakeesh only if you're able to dine-in. If there are three or more of you, get the Maroush Dish. Food was absolutely amazing and so close to the house! We arrived about 1130 and the girl that was at the register wasn't super friendly, but I think the owner was there and he was really nice. He said the grill doesn't open until 12 o'clock, but offered to open it up! I told him not to worry about it and we got two orders of the chicken Shawarma wraps instead and it was flavorful! I did ask him if they had crispy shawarma and he said yes. I don't think he understood me, so I was a little disappointed when I received it and it was just the pita with the Shawarma inside. They have plenty of other options and they are a little on the pricey side, but I'm just hoping that it's because they use very good quality of food. I did find that there was a lot of oil on my plate and the restrooms were not clean. I had already ordered my food when I tried to take my kids to the restroom so I was a little disappointed in that being that it was so early in the day. I always compare restrooms to kitchens, so I'm just hoping that wasn't the case today! The other staff were very friendly and accommodating to us. It was good and the people working there were helpful and patient as we looked over the menu. The food was good and the ambiance was nice, clean and casual. The flavor is jampacked into every bite we took! This is a nice place in Waterford Lakes! I did not know what to expect when you walk in because your order at the counter and they tell you what seat you're sitting at and then they bring you your food. I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality and flavor of the food. On top of that, the servers that brought our food to the table and brought drinks were so pleasant. I had a great time at Maroush. The staff was all incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately their actual menu does not explain what each thing really is, but the staff were more than willing to explain what everything was. I got the Syria wrap. It was really good, I honestly cannot recommend it more than enough. It has beef, pickles, tomatoes, and some other things. It's very dill heavy. If you like strong flavors, you'll like this. I visited here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday. It's located in Waterford Lakes shopping center to the left of the movie theater. There was plenty of parking and we only had to wait a few minutes to order. I ordered the Arabic Chicken Shawarma and my friend ordered the Arabic Beef Shawarma + 2 soda drinks. Staff seemed nice and were helpful while ordering. We were told to be seated and they will bring the food out to us. After about 15 minutes our food was brought to the table. We had to remind the employee that we ordered drinks and finally those were brought about a few minutes after. Let's get to the food. I thought the chicken and my friend thought the beef were both a little dry. Everything had decent flavor and fries were cooked crispy. While food was edible and good, I just don't think the flavors compare to other Shawarma serving restaurants in the area. The inside of the restaurant was large with plenty of seating. Enjoyed this restaurant! Went to lunch with a colleague. The service was courteous and prompt. We enjoyed some refreshimg drinks of tamarind and watermelon. For lunch my colleague had a beef wrap which she really enjoyed. We also had an appetizer of baba gonush that was a cooked smoky eggplant served with bread that very fresh and delicious. I had the chicken shawarma wrap with rice that all was very well seasoned and had great flavor. The drinks were tasty and this was a good experience. The portions were good and because of the appetizer I took half of my sandwich to go and had it for dinner. For dessert I took some baklava home that was also very good. A friend and I stopped in for lunch - it's a relatively new spot in the back of Waterford Lakes and we wanted to check it out! Stepping inside, Maroush is well lit and clean. They have a nice seating area and a buffet area - I'm personally excited for that being an option. The menu is expansive and it took us a little to read through everything. We both got a Shawarma Wrap (one beef, one chicken) and we had an olive and cheese manakeesh to share (it's like a little pizza!) Everything was so incredibly tasty, I am excited to have my leftovers later tonight! We didn't have any specialty drinks, but I saw someone order a mint lemonade that looked amazing - I think I'll try that next time! The staff were very friendly and attentive. Waterford Lakes~We've eaten here twice and REALLY want to love it, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark. The people are very kind and try to explain the menu, but things get lost in translation. A huge plus for this restaurant would be a menu that explains what the different items are made with. A lot of people would benefit from this. Especially ones who are not familiar with Middle Eastern food. (Me) I saw the cashier explaining the menu to a lot of people and I think that would cut down on the MANY times she has to repeat herself. I had the Ribeye chunks wrap, and my lunch mate had the Chicken kebab wrap. His was tasty and had a lot of juicy chicken. It was also supposed to have french fries, per the cashier, but there was none. Mine was dry and a bit tough, but tasted OK. We tried a cheese and mushroom manakeesh. It was soggy but tasted ok. We would've preferred fresh mushrooms over canned mushrooms. We also tried the naan and the homemade hummus. That was superb! Very pricey for what you receive. I doubt that we will go back unless we bring somebody with us that can decipher the menu. lol There were several things that I was interested in, but it was busy and I didn't want to pester the cashier. While I'm glad to have an authentic Middle Eastern place in Waterford Lakes, I was a bit disappointed in my first visit to Maroush. It took several minutes to be acknowledged when I was waiting to order at the register, and when my manakeesh was ready the waitress just plopped it on the table and walked away, like she wanted to just do the bare minimum. I ordered the cheese and zaatar option, which was fine - a bit oily but you could tell everything on it was fresh, and I liked seeing it be made to order in their wood burning oven. I have a pet peeve about places that don't give free water, so that's another mark against them - you have to buy bottled water, no tap option. I'll probably come back again with a bigger group and try some of their appetizers and other dishes...maybe the staff was just having a bad day. read more

Was in the area and wanted to try a new place. I was a little confused when I walked in. The tables are numbered so I assumed I would order at the front and then sit somewhere, but a kind waitress came up (probably saw the confusion in my face) to ask if we were taking out or dining in. So if you're taking out, you can go straight to the front. If dining in, have a seat! Scanned a QR code for the menu which was no frills. There are quite a bit of things on the menu so I think pictures would be nice (for those that eat with their eyes). I went with the platter and the bf went with the wrap. There is an up charge to get it with fries which was $6! The fries are good but $6 is too much. He enjoyed his wrap and I enjoyed my platter although I did ask for some garlic sauce to go with. I think some of the chicken would be too dry without the sauce. Overall, the place is good but a little on the pricey side. Lunch for two was $40 without tip. I personally wouldn't drive out of my way to go here, but if I were already in the area I'd stop in. I think it's worth a try. This is a nice addition to the Waterford Lakes community. It's our first visit and we were not familiar with the menu. We were greeted warmly by a young lady in the cash register and explained the menu and the food. She also mentioned about the Manakeesh. I asked what she would recommend- and she pointed on a man next to cash register by the " brick oven"in white uniform and was making it. He is the one does the " white bread. I asked him for recommendation. He said, " non is good. I am busy. If you want it- you have to wait 20 min. " I took it as do not try it! So I told the cash register- it seems he said he is not accepting more orders. She just smiled but she looks so disappointed with the old man response. In fairness- the food and portion is great! This place isn't bad. Has the potential to be great though. Coming in, I really didn't know what to expect. I didn't even know they had a juice bar on the side! It was a little empty inside, with a family and myself dining in. There were people dining outside though. The inside is very quiet, no music. Would've enjoyed some music while eating. Floor was a little dirty with few crumbs here and there. Nothing a little a sweeping can fix though. Service was average. Not bad, not good. Could do better though. Food was good though! New Arabic place opened in Waterford lakes. Stopped in for lunch. You know it's good when a lot of the customers are Arabic. I got take out and got, hummus, grape leafs, kibbeh and beef shawarma. Hummus was really good, gave a decent amount a pita bread. The grape leafs tastes like others places. Loved the kibbeh, one of my fav apps in Arabic food. Ended with beef shawarma, I held the onions. The bread it was wrapped in and soft and a little flakey. Great flavor and added tahini sauce and dipped it in the hummus as well. Over all the food was very good and the staff was great as well.
