Oh yeh, with the apps! Call them dolmades, tolmas or yerbas, no matter the name these are the best stuffed grape leaves! Moving on to the entrees. Marrakesh offers moussaka, shawarma and kefta, oh my! Seriously, though...this food is amazing! I absolutely love the red cabbage salad aka slaw! What could make this food experience better? So disappointed. I've tried to give this place a chance but every time I order they Jack it up and I never check until get home which is super annoying. I've sat there once and had the three meat trio. It's funny because on the menu there are two goddamn lamb chops on the plate but when you actually get the plate there is one little crackhead lamb chop. I do notice tho that when they cook for themselves and eat as a group their portions are much bigger. Great decor, great food. Cheap as hell on the portions of meat. First time here while doing some errands and it was a FANTASTIC decision. YELP reviewers were SOOOOO correct ---this place does NOT disappoint. First, this a quaint and fun place right when you walk in...the decor is beautiful. Our server, Nore, is THE BEST --- she gave us a helpful rundown of the entire menu, a few recommendations, and also different sauces for us to try. We are not tea drinkers, but she had us try the chai tea --half sweet and half unsweetened, as per her preference -- and WOW was it great. We were quite filled with our appetizers and thought we would have to bring our entrees home...but we powered through and ate everything quite easily (flavors and grilled tastes were ALL on point). This is truly a fantastic find here in Jacksonville. The owner's son also came to the table to actually serve our food. My husband and I decided to try Marrakesh after 10 months of living here. Everything was amazing! From the customer service from Jen, to the decor, to the food. We got an Island Cooler to drink, the Appetizer Platter, to be safe we got Gyros for the meal, and Baklava for dessert. Everything we tried was just phenomenal. We were very surprised that all the food they had was so fresh. Jen let us know that they don't freeze the meat. They get a new delivery almost every day. Jen recommended we try the Meat Lovers platter for dinner. My husband and I LOVE meat so we will definitely try that next time & not play it so safe. Either way we had a wonderful time! I'm pregnant and lots of food makes me feel nauseous or grosses me out, but the food at Marrakesh only left me wanting more. Absolutely exquisite. 5/5 from us! read more

My daughter loves this place and was the one to drag me in. I've come with friends once or twice over the years but it wasn't until recently when she wanted to come in that I realized how good the food is. My daughter is a very particular eater and rarely tries anything outside of chicken and fries but there has yet been a time where she hasn't tried something different and finished it all. I too am amazed at the portions they give one meal is easily two maybe even three. It comes out hot quickly and taste fresh every time....not something that was reheated. The best hummus EVER! I literally think this is the best I've ever had. The Greek lamb I wish was in strips it's more like lamb meatballs but it's all very good food! I loved it all honestly. For the main, we ordered the meat sampler and my oh my, let me tell you...it was amazing. Meats were cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. Be sure to order it with the yellow rice too. If you're going to go for the first time and recommend going during dinner, larger portions and a better atmosphere in my opinion. I've been here a few times and finally got around to posting a review. I always loved the chicken kabob along with the bread and rice. The reason for a four and not five star is the inconsistency of the meat. From time to time the chicken I order tends to be dry and then other times it's cooked perfectly. I am not sure if that is the product of different chefs or how busy they get. All in all worth a try if you are in the Jacksonville area. read more

I'd heard good things, but Marrakesh exceeded my expectations on all fronts! The inside is beautifully decorated and not at all what you'd expect of a restaurant located in a strip mall. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, and the service was great. The only thing to mention is that portions are smaller than what I've seen at many other Mediterranean restaurants. I've gone to buffets and tasted a little bit of everything again not impressed. So I was a little concerned when my husband wanted to go to this place. Wow! Everything was so good!
