I'm disappointed that all the reviews misled me. At 6 pm on a Wednesday there was no one in the restaurant. We ordered a hummus appetizer and had the thinnest and dry pita in a plastic bag delivered to our table. We asked to split a meal and even though there was no one there, she delivered one plate and told us we had to split the dish ourselves. The gyro platter had better pita, see pic , so I'm perplexed why we had the terrible pita we paid extra for. The gyro platter was average. I guess if its the only Mediterranean in town it would explain the reviews but other than that I cant explain the rave reviews. read more

We found this place while we were in Okracoke looking for options on our drive down to Carolina Beach today. After having italian, fried seafood, thai, indian and dessers, we wanted something different. Glad we picked this spot! Inside is spacious and cute. Love the cozy tables with cushion and pillows. The music was nice setting the atmosphere. The food was refreshing and the cardamom tea a delight! The rice is probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant, ever. The server was attentive and everything came out in a timely manner. We got the veggie skewer & gyro plate. Definitely recommend! read more

We just had lunch here today. What a joy! A friendly greeting, pretty decor and seating, relaxing music and a fun, fresh menu. Our dishes were excellent and just what we were hungering for. (Both of us had the falafel in pita. Done perfectly). Nice tea choices for a cold day. My "relaxing white tea" was a treat--I felt as though I were sipping flowers. We left happy. A nice respite from running errands and shopping. We'll return soon--the specials are enticing--and a great way to eat during these fattening time of celebrating too much. I've been having terrible morning sickness and headaches (genuinely physically drained) and not want to cook because of the smells. I came in for the first time really looking for home cooked food that would make me feel better and that was healthy. This restaurant met every need I had in the moment, very kind and wonderful service and delicious healthy hot meal. Rice pilaf and chicken kabobs were amazing and the tea made my day better instantly. For any mamas to be this is your restaurant. I will be coming back!!! To the service thank you!! Very delicious food! Well seasoned, came out fast and hot. Server was pleasant as well. We arrived at 7:30 PM and she was still happy to serve us and we were fat and happy out the door by 8:05 PM. Wow. My mom and I stopped in for a quick bite after a pedicure and we shared the Greek platter. I'm a vegetarian but she is not and we couldn't believe how fresh, flavorful and beautiful everything tasted. The spanakopita in particular was extraordinary. I have had spanakopita many times in many countries and am shocked that this might have been the best I've had. Creamy, tangy filling, perfectly crispy filo and just the perfect last bite, but the falafel and hummus were also excellent. I might have to make this a tradition when we come to visit. read more

Food was excellent as well as the service. However, pricing was off. $12 for a sandwich with no side. No fountain drinks and wanted $3 for a canned soda. Also charges 3.5% for cards which was hidden under my bill. Not a good value for the price overall. But food is very good as long as you are willing to pay. read more

This was the worst experience/Mediterranean food we have experienced. The service was not good, never checked on us or refilled our drinks. Told us the special, Mediterranean Sampler was good portions to split. It was $21 and service for one. They were out of grape leaves and promised extra falafel to offset. Total of 3 meatball size falafel balls. A 2oz to go cup of tzatziki sauce as the standard portion for a sampler platter?! I could go on... just AWFUL! Save your money and go to Olive Garden across the street. The service and food portions were way superior. read more

Changed menu but website doesn't work and no where else shows an updated menu. When I ordered my usual, the person on the phone told me they no longer due French fries so when I asked what sides she listed them off. No where was it mentioned that the sides no longer come with the meal. So when I arrived to pick up my food and was told 40 something dollars for 2 meals I was like hold up. I asked to have the salads taken away as that's unnecessary and still paid about $27 for 2 gyros. Where as that is pricey but not terrible given other places I've been I still got them. Well I opened the box and have never seen such a small gyro. Definitely not worth the price and I will not be back. read more

My husband and I adore Pita Plate! The food is absolutely phenomenal - hands down one of the best restaurants in the area. The staff is small, but friendly and attentive! My husband has a severe peanut/legume allergy and we can always count on the staff to go above and beyond to make sure our food is safe. Ordered a pita wrap and spanakopita...and the chocolate raspberry cheesecake as l had seen great reviews on the cheese cake. I would suggest that if you were getting to go meal to order on the phone as l had a 30 minute wait. The servers were sweet, they kept apologizing cuz they were busy so things were taking a little longer than expected. They had to close a couple hours because they ran out of food items.. Umm.. Ehh?? I guess so you might want to call ahead to make sure they're open. I ordered the lamb gyro and it was delicious!! Went in for a late dinner at about 7:15 without realizing that they closed at 8:00. Though the menu had been reduced as they sold out, we still had several options. Ordered a fattoush salad with grilled chicken and a gyro meat platter with a Greek salad. I was blown away by how delicious the gyro platter was! The gyro meat was seasoned with a delightful blend of spices I'd never had in combination. The meat itself was tender with just enough of a crust to make it crunch. The rice it was served over though... THAT was even more special. Perfectly cooked, it was flavored with I have NO idea what, I think cinnamon might have been in there, but it was divine! The tzatziki brought a coolness to everything that made everything balanced, no one part of the dish overpowering another. I can't WAIT to go back. read more

We came into town and planned there as our first stop to enjoy lunch. Waited in the parking lot for about 15 minutes, then started walking to the door at 11. Get to the door and says they don't open til 12. Off to Atlantic Beach to find something else instead. Won't attempt to ever return. read more
